Notes: [Auszug] The Tr2 orphan nuclear receptor can be SUMOylated, resulting in the replacement of coregulators recruited to the regulatory region of its endogenous target gene, Oct4. UnSUMOylated Tr2 activates Oct4, enhancing embryonal carcinoma-cell proliferation, and is localized to the promyelocytic leukemia ...

Notes: Metal-complex hydrides Li3AlH6 and V-doped Li3AlH6 nanoparticles were synthesized by solid reactions of LiH and LiAlH4 in the absence and in the presence of VCl3, respectively. X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Brunauer- Emmett-Teller sorption, thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis have been used to investigate the phase composition, microstructure and surface properties. Not only the nanocrystalline Li3AlH6, but also the coexisting catalyst with “valence-transfer” state can influence the dehydrogenation kinetics. The extension of the catalytic mechanism is attractive for reversible hydrogen storage of the alanate system

Notes: Molecular assembly technology has attracted much research attention due to its flexibleapplications in modulation of surface property and construction of nanostructures and devices.Herein, a well-defined surface metallization technique has been achieved via anchoring electrolesscatalysts onto substrates’ surfaces with the pendant active groups of self-assembled monolayers. Thismethod affords a means to control surface functionality at molecular level and has advantages overthe conventional Sn-Pd methods, such as convenient operation, good reproducibility, increasedlongevity of the activated initiator and improved adhesion of metal deposition to substrates. Therefore, it has great significance in the fields of developing bottom-up combinedmicro/nano-fabrication technique. This metallization process has been successfully performed onhollow ceramic particles to fabricate light-weighted core-shell functional materials

Notes: Nanoscale magnetic materials have been receiving increasing interest for their potentialapplications. One-dimensional magnetic particles chain of polycrystalline nickel was prepared by asimple template-free method under magnetic field. Based on solution reduction reaction of Ni2+,metallic nickel was deposited and synchronously self-assembled into chains under magnetic field. The results show that the chain of polycrystalline nickel was several micrometer in length andseveral hundreds nanometer in diameter. VSM measurements indicate the magnetic properties ofchains formed can be modulated by the reaction time and the solution concentration. It is suggestedthat the magnetic field be an effective and tunable way to the fabrication one-dimensional chains ofmagnetic materials

Notes: A fast photo-acoustic (PA) imaging system was developed and tested on phantomsample, which consists of an acoustic lens,a multi-element linear transducer array, and the peakdetection circuit. The multi-element linear transducer array consists of 64 elements. By utilizing anacoustic lens, the PA signals generated from the sample are imaged and detected by a multi-elementlinear transducer array, which directly changes the PA signals into the homologous electronicsignals. Thus we can map the image more rapidly, with the peak detection circuit, which wasdesigned specially. Compared to other exiting technology and algorithm, the PA imaging systembased on an acoustic lens and the peak detection technology was characterized with speediness andreal-time. The images reconstructed in this experiment have high definition and resolution, andmay have potential for developing an appliance for clinical diagnosis

Notes: A novel nonlinear confocal microscopic imaging system based on Raman induced Kerreffect spectroscopy (RIKES) is presented in this paper. The three-dimensional (3-D) microscopicimaging theory is derived with the Fourier imaging theory and nonlinear optical principle. Theimpact of RIKES on the spatial resolution and imaging properties of confocal microscopic imagingsystem has been analyzed in detail by the imaging theory. It’s proved that the RIKES nonlinearmicroscopic imaging system can effectively improve the imaging contrast and provide morecharacteristic information on Raman spectrum and optical nonlinear Kerr effect, thus greatlyimproving the imaging quality of confocal microscopic imaging system. It’s shown that the spatialresolution of RIKES confocal microscopic imaging system is higher than that of two-photonconfocal microscopic imaging system

Notes: Carbon doped TiO2 and pure TiO2 thin films were prepared by atmospheric metal organicchemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) method. Both pure TiO2 and carbon doped TiO2 films are inanatase structure. X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) of the carbon doped TiO2 film indicate carbonatoms occupy oxygen sites and form Ti-C bonds in TiO2 lattice. In UV-VIS absorption spectra, it canbe found that the carbon doped TiO2 film has a red-shifted absorption edge compared with the pureTiO2 film. In the photocatalytic decomposition experiment of Rh.B, carbon doped TiO2 exhibitedremarkably visible light activity

Notes: Bioactive glasses are known to have the ability to regenerate bone, but their use has been restricted mainly to powder, granules, or small monoliths. This work reports on the development of bioactive glasses with macroporosity of controlled size and volume through sol-gel and pore forming technologies. The macroporous structure (greater than 100µm) can provide the potential for tissueingrowth. Simultaneously the samples exhibit mesoporous (2-50nm) texture and high specific surface which can enhance bioactivity and release of ionic products. The most important advantage is that these samples show satisfactory mechanical strength. This method should be a useful approach for preparation scaffolds with applications to repair and reconstruct damaged tissue

Notes: Porous silicon carbide (SiC) ceramics were fabricated by a polycarbosilane (PCS) conversion bonding technique, in which PCS was used as a binder to bond SiC particles with each other. In the preparing process, SiC particles were first coated with PCS, and then the powder compacts were heat-treated in an inert atmosphere. During the heat-treatment, the PCS decomposed and gradually converted to inorganic covalent solids composed mainly of Si-C networks. Thepyrolysis process of PCS, the pore structures and flexural strength of the as-prepared specimens were analyzed and discussed. Preparing temperature as low as 1100°C was adopted in this process and the porous SiC ceramics with a flexural strength of 20 MPa at an open porosity of 43% was obtained. Since PCS was used as a binder, the critical feature of this technique was that the preparation ofporous SiC body was achieved at a low temperature

Notes: MOCVD was applied to deposit TiO2 thin films on glass substrates. Effects of the depositionconditions (source temperature and substrate temperature) were studied. The phase and micro- structureof the TiO2 thin films were examined by X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy, respectively. Theresults indicate that substrate temperature affects both the morphology and the phase of the TiO2 film, while source temperature only affects the surface morphology of TiO2 film. Highly oriented anatase filmon glass substrate was obtained at a source temperature of 140 oC and a substrate temperature of 350 oC.XRD pattern shows that only the (200) peak of anatase appears under the conditions. The crystallines inthe highly oriented anatase were rectangular in top view
