    Description: De hydrophilide Dactylosternum abdominale dook de laatste jaren op steeds meer plaatsen rondom Nederland op. In 2006 werd de soort eindelijk ook in Nederland ontdekt. In tegenstelling tot de meeste vertegenwoordigers van de familie der spinnende waterkevers leeft D. abdominale niet in het water, maar op het land in rottende materialen. E\xc3\xa9n exemplaar van deze kosmopoliet werd verzameld in een rottende zwam te Warmond.
