Description: During the study was colected samples water on superficial at 27 stations, it was distributed in the Port Bolívar stuary with maing goal it to know primary productivity. the samples of plankton was colected in two phases: flux and reflux during the days 3 to 18 of july-2002. The diversity phytoplankton was identified to method Uthermohl 88 species in the lawyer superficial and 96 species were determined in samples net of 50u. In the phytoplankton community the diatoms were dominant and lower concentration the dinoflagellates, silicoflagellates, cyanobacter and cocolithophorides. In cell count the species the most dominant at the area were Skeletonema costatum and Pseudonitzschia delicatissima, in the net (50u) samples were registered the stuarine and benthic species: Skeletonema costatum, Cyclotella menenghiniana. It was destacated that the most phytoplankton diversity found in the areas river Jubones and the Santa Rosa stuary during the phase flux. The zooplankton community was registered hight diversity of groups zooplanktonic with a total of 32 and 28 taxa during flux and reflux respectivetly and terms of diversity max was registered a 2.19 bits found in the estero Jambelí. The high biomas of zooplankton it was observed during reflux in the station 14 and the lower biomas. It was found during flux in the station 5 localited in the estero Santa Rosa. The ichthyoplankton was registered low abundance of eggs and lavals of fish in the study area, and determinated. The number max of diversity were 0.8 bits observed in the area Punta Jambelí and determinated in the group of eggs of fish the following familys: Clupeidae, Sciaenidae, Engraulidae and the larval of fishes the dominant family was Engraulidae.

Description: El objetivo del presente estudio es conocer la distribución cualitativa y cuantitativa de las especies del fitoplancton, zooplancton e ictioplancton y su relación con las condiciones ambientales durante el período en estudio.
Description: The present work includes/understands the study of the qualitative and quantitative temporary variability of the phytoplankton, zooplankton and ichthyoplankton in the shores of the Santay Island, of the Province of the Guayas. For the effect 16 samples, obtained during november of the 2000 and january of the 2002 were analyzed. 38 species of phytoplankton in water samples and 51 species in network samples were identified (50u). The diatoms were dominant and in smaller concentration the dinoflagellates ones, cianobacterys, silicoflagellates, and tintinides. The cellular biomass was represented mainly by Skeletonema costatum, Paralia sulcata and Coscinodiscus excentricus, species that were abundant in the study area. In network samples species were observed estuarys and benthicas: Actinoptychus senarius, Coscinodiscus excentricus, C. concinnus, Polymixus coronalis, Cyclotella menenghiniana, characteristic of a high fertility. During year 2000 a smaller zooplanctónica biomass with a variability in the abundance of the main groups of zooplancton appeared, standing out the dominant group the Larvae of Fish and represented by the sort Anchovy sp. and its temporary abundance is influenced mainly by the seasonal time, physical factors and states of tides. Wheres during year 2002 a greater zooplanctónica biomass was observed and greater diversity of species, this biomass was represented mainly by microcrustaceans such as Nauplios of cirripedios, Copépodos, Zoeas of brachiuras, Copépodos, Larvae of fish and Larvae of poliquetos, in comparison with year 2000. The abundance of a fraction of some groups of zooplankton pertaining to meroplancton is an index that mainly characterizes productive areas by the presence of larval estadíos of crustaceans and fish.

Description: El presente trabajo es una contribución al estudio del plancton estuarino presente en el área comprendida del Canal de San Lorenzo, provincia de Esmeraldas, para lo cual existe poca información sobre este tema.
Description: The present work comprehends the study of the qualitative and quantitative distribution of the phytoplankton, zooplankton and ichthyoplankton at San Lorenzo in Esmeraldas Province. For the effect 12 stations were established located at the Estero Chimbusal, Estero Nadadero, Canal de San Lorenzo. The sample was taken in the phases flow and refflux the days ist and 2nd of september 2001. There were identified 63 species in water samples and 77 species in samples with net of 50u in the community of the phytoplankton. The diatoms prevailed dominant and in smaller concentration the dinoflagellates, tintinnoids, cianobacters and flagellates. The cell biomass was represented by Messodinium rubrum and Chaetoceros compressus, they were the most abundant species in all the area. In net samples of 50u the dominant species were: Biddulphia sinensis, B.mobiliensis, Chaetoceros compressus, Pleurosigma angulatum and Skeletonema costatum, tytical of a high fertility in the area. The regimen refflux registered 17 taxas of zooplankton an the dominants were Copepods (35%), Chaetognaths (34%) and the Crustacean Larvae such as Zoeas of Brachyuran (11%). The regimen flow showed 14 taxas and were evident the Copepods (60%), Fish Larvae (21%) these groups of zooplankton were considered dominant and frequent. With regard to Ichthyoplankton registered in the regimen flow 3462 fish eggs/10m², the dominant families were Engraulidae (62%), Clupeidae (33%), however it was observed a high abundance of fish larvae with a total 11495/ 10m² and registered the dominant families Clupeidae (40%), Engraulidae (37%) and Scianidae (16%). The regimen refflux presented the biggest abundance on eggs of fish with 19649 eggs/ 10m². The dominant families were Clupeidae 68% and Engraulidae 31%, the fish larvae were low on abundance with 826 larvas/10m² being the dominant families Clupeidae (57%), Scianidae (24%) and Engraulidae (14%).

Description: The present study reports in detail the distribution and composition of the zooplankton biomass in diferent places of the Gulf of Guayaquil and the main goal it is to know the areas of most productivity in the zooplankton. The most biomass of zooplankton was observed in the area of estuary Salado than in other areas in the study. The biomass was represented by microcrustacea the dominant group was Infra orden Brachiuran and it was observed the most at the station located in front of Quiñonez Island. The low zooplankton biomass was registered at the station located the area of the bridge ways around of Guayaquil city. The zooplankton community was represented by 17 taxa and 10 represented the Crustacea kind and it registered the most diversity at the estuary Salado and low diversity was observed at the bridge of ways around Guayaquil. The phylum Arthropoda showed a broad distribution and observed the abundance of insect larvae at Miraflores bridge it is not usually observed in the examples of zooplankton. The chaetognaths phylum showed that Sagitta bedoti was dominant and it may be considered a indicative changes on saltiness rate, in the area where the blend process between the Guayas River and Salado estuary happens.

Description: The present study was carried out during the wet and dry seasons in the rivers Teaone, Esmeraldas, Petrolero Terminal and Palmas, for which stablished that a variability exists temporary space as for the abundance and composition of the communities zooplankton, especially the species of the taxa Chaetognatha, Cladocera, Caridea. The area of major productivity zooplanctónica associated with a high diversity was in the zone of Petrolero Terminal of Esmeraldas during the wet season. In the area Petrolero Terminal there was high abundance of Quetognatos's species represented by the dominancia of S. bedoti and S. neglecta in the wet season and during the dry season the dominancia was od S. enflata and S. minim which con be related principally by the seasonal variation of the parameter salinity, whereas the temperature was kept in a range of 25.9° to 28.4 °C during 2 season in study. The low zooplankton abundance and diversity registered in the river Teaone, there being registered the presence of scanty specimens of Macrobranchium rathbunae in the wet season. In the river Teaone were observed high values of potential of hydrogen in comparison with other areas in study, for what, it might catalogue that this area is in conditions of a deterioration of the quality of the waters, by light indications towards a pollution product of the antropogénica activities.
