Description / Table of Contents:
(o-Lithio-benzyl) diphenylphosphineWhereas (o-chlorbenzy1)diphenylphosphine reacts with LiC4H2 by α-metallation, (o-brombenzy1)diphenylphosphine gives (o-1ithiobenzyl)diphenylphosphine by metal-halogen exchange. Lithium[(o-chlorbenzyl)diphenylphosphino]methanide is characterized by reaction with CO2 and (CH3)3SiCl; (o-1ithiobenzyl)diphenylphosphine shows with CO2, (CH3)3SiCl, HgBr2, and Ph3SnCl the typical organo-metallic reactions. With (CH3)2TlBr and (Et2S)2PdCl2 the corresponding chelates are obtained. The structures of products are supported by their infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra.
Notes:
