Die Trennfaktoren betragen in AbhÄngigkeit vom Matrixelement und von der Probeeinwaage 4×103 bis 5×104. Bei der Bestimmung der Spuren mit der Flammen-AAS werden für alle abgetrennten Elemente Nachweisgrenzen unterhalb 1 Μg/g erreicht.
    Notes: Summary Traces of Bi, Cd, Cu, In and Tl can be separated from high-purity iron, chromium and manganese by sorption of their dithiophosphoric-acid-O,O-diethylester complexes onto activated carbon as trace collector. The factor of separation is 4×103 to 5×104 depending on matrix element and sample weight. The detection limits for the determination of the traces by flame-AAS are lower than 1 Μg/g for all separated elements.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Der für die Extraktion im stark sauren Medium geeignete Chelatbildner Dithiophosphorsäure-O,O-diethylester kann auch für die Spurensorption an Aktivkohle eingesetzt werden. Durch das unterschiedliche Sorptionsverhalten der Elemente ist es möglich, eine Gruppe von Elementspuren (Bi, Cd, Cu, In, Pb, Tl) selektiv aus verschiedenen Matrices abzutrennen. Am Beispiel der Analyse von Reinstgallium konnte gezeigt werden, daß die Kombination von Spurenabtrennung und mikrophysikalischem Bestimmungsschritt zu Nachweisgrenzen im ng/g-Bereich führt. Als Bestimmungsverfahren für die angereicherten Spuren wurden die Injektionsmethode der Flammen-AAS und die Schlaufen-AAS eingesetzt, da mit beiden Methoden bei sequentieller Messung noch Multielementbestimmungen aus Spurenkonzentraten von weniger als 1 ml möglich sind.
    Notes: Summary The chelate complexing agent dithiophosphoric acid-O,O-diethylester, suitable for extraction from high acidity media, can also be put to use in trace sorption on activated carbon. Due to different sorption behaviour of elements, it is possible to separate selectively from different matrices, groups of elements (such as Bi, Cd, Cu, In, Pb, Tl). By way of example concerning the analysis of high-purity gallium, it could be demonstrated that by combination of a trace separation with a micro-physical determination step, detection limits in the ng/g-region could be reached. As a determination procedure regarding pre-concentrated traces, the injection method of flame-AAS and loop-AAS were applied, because both these methods allow sequential multielement determinations from trace concentrates of less than 1 ml.

    Notes: The composition-dependent backscattering factor in quantitative AES analysis is investigated by comparing experimental results from different approaches with several theoretical methods. Backscattering factor ratios are presented as a function of the composition of homogeneous CuPd alloys cleaned in situ by scribing. The values were calculated in a simple way by the proposed approximation method which takes into account the importance of the primary electron incident angle. This approach can be recommended for practical use in determining matrix correction. Application of the approximation method for matrix correction to different binary alloy systems gives a better agreement with the experimental matrix correction factor than Reuter's backscattering factor equation. Matrix correction factors for binary alloys were evaluated by a simple equation considering the weak linear composition dependence which was found experimentally. With matrix correction the accuracy of quantitative AES analysis can be improved by 5% or more as was shown for the CuPd alloys.
