    Notizen: Abstract Some pecularities of multiwave light diffraction in optically thin and thick phase unslanted gratings have been considered. An approximate solution of the wave equation is derived by the eiconal method. The solution is valid for gratings which are both optically thin and thick. This is verified by comparison of approximate solutions with numerical calculations. A range of parameters is found where the solution gives a reliable result. It has been found that the phase grating has the property of focusing light in planes with a maximum value of refractive index if the grating thickness is close to the focal distance introduced.

    Notizen: Abstract It is shown that in the 9q- and 12q-systems, i.e.,3He-3He and4He nuclei, the most energetically favourable colour magnetic types of symmetry are [f]cs=[621] and [f]cs=[822], which corresponds to the orbital configurationsS 5 P 4 [522] X andS 6 P 6 [623] X . The colour magnetic nucleon attraction associated with these configurations increases as the square of the nucleon number in the sequence2H,3He,4He, becoming quite strong in4He. This may provide a basis for explaining the “mysterious properties” of3He-3He and4He. However, with the further increase in A, the above effect drastically decreases. A qualitative calculation on the quark excitation spectrum for the3H-3He and4He nuclei is presented. The4He nucleus seems to possess some properties of a “quark magic nucleus”. The experimental situation is discussed.

    Notizen: Abstract A polychromatic correlation detection technique by complex spatial filtering is presented. This technique utilizes a diffraction grating and three co-lineared (red, green, and blue) coherent sources. The technique of complex spatial filter synthesis for the polychromatic corelation detection is demonstrated. This technique offers true color correlation detection which is very suitable for color signal recognition and identification. The correlation diffraction efficiency with this technique is generally higher than that of the wavelength-multiplexed technique. Several interesting experimental demonstrations of this color signal correlation detection scheme are provided. Finally we note that this color signal detection technique is a simple and versatile processing technique which has broad range of applications of complex color signal detection, recognition and identification.

    Notizen: Abstract The coherence requirement for correlation detection is determined using the theory of partially coherent light. It is shown that the requirement for temporal coherence strongly dependes on the spatial frequency and the spatial extension of the target (i.e., space bandwidth product). However, the spatial coherence requirement depends only on the extension of the target. Some numerical results are also presented.

    Notizen: Abstract In this paper, the general formulations of the apparent transfer function for the partially coherent optical processor will be derived. Although these formulas show that the apparent transfer function is dependent upon the degree of spatial and temporal coherence, there is actually more variability in the spatial coherence. We note that the obtained formulas may also be used as a criterion in the selection of source size and spectral bandwidth of an incoherent light source. Thus a specific optical information processing operation can be carried out with an incoherent source.

    Notizen: In order to improve corrosion resistance of galvanized steel, a novel cerium-phytic acidpassivation treatment was studied. The process of cerium-phytic acid passivation on galvanizedsteel was optimized. The corrosion resistance of cerium-phytic passivated samples was tested bydropping test and weight loss test. The electrochemical behaviors of cerium, phytic acid andcerium-phytic acid passivated samples in 0.5 mol/L NaCl solution were investigated by polarizationcurve and AC impendence spectroscopy, respectively. The corrosion equivalent circuit establishedaccording to impedance characteristics. The corrosion current density of the samples were treatedby cerium and phytic acid was 8.52 × 10-5 A/cm2 and 9.39 × 10-5 A/cm2, respectively, However, thesamples were passivated by cerium-phytic acid the corrosion current density decreased to 1.76 ×10-5 A/cm2, respectively. The test results showed that cerium-phytic acid passivated samplesexhibited better corrosion resistance than that of cerium or phytic acid passivated sample under thesame test conditions

    Notizen: Abstract Representations of the Lie algebra sl(3) with highest weight are analyzed. Invariant subspaces of indecomposable representations are determined. We study the decomposition of these representations with respect to the subalgebras su(2) and su(1,1) (in their obvious imbedding in su(2,1)). For special cases this decomposition gives indecomposable non multiplicity free representations (indecomposable pairs) with highest weight. These were discussed in [1] and appear also in the decomposition so(3,2) ⊃ su(1,1) of the Rac representation, [7].

    Notizen: Abstract A relation between spatial coherence function and source encoding intensity transmittance function is presented. Since the spatial coherence is depending upon the information processing operation, a strictly broad spatial coherence function may not be required for the processing. The advantage of the source encoding is to relax the constraints of strict coherence requirement, so that the processing operation can be carried out with an extended incoherent source. Emphasis of the source encodings and experimental demonstrations are given. The constraint of temperal coherence requirement is also discussed.
