Article Loss-of-function mutations in tumour suppressor genes are associated with oesophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC), but the mechanisms underlying EAC development remain unclear. Here, the authors show that EACs present a high frequency of genomic catastrophes resulting in amplification of potent oncogenes.
