Summary This paper studies a Hamiltonian 2-system with regular type singularity at t=0: t dx/dt=∂H/∂y, t dy/dt=−∂H/∂x where H is a function holomorphic in (t, x, y) in the domain containing the origin (0, 0, 0). Assuming certain conditions on H, we construct a general solution of the system in the form of series expansion. This result is applied to Painlevé equations and the behavior of solutions of them around fixed singularity is studied.
