Vavilov (PIENU Collaboration) As established conclusively in recent years, standard model neutrinos have mass. Additional heavy neutrino states, such as sterile neutrinos, are required in many models of neutrino masses. PIENU, via a novel use of the positron decay mode of the pion, has set new limits on these massive states. [Phys. Rev. D 97, 072012] Published Tue Apr 17, 2018
