4,6-Di-(2′-aminoethyl)-5,5-dimethylazelainic acid-lactam (IV) was synthesized in several steps, starting with 4, -dihydroxydiphenyl-2,2-propane. IV could not be polymerized with several initiators at 250 °C. (water, sodium, hexamethylenadipamide, acids). Copolymerization of IV with ∊-caprolactame resulted in insoluble products in the range of 10 to 75% IV. Below 5 and above 90% IV, the products were soluble. Viscosity measurements of the soluble parts resp. polymers confirmed FLORY's statement on the height of molecular weights after crossing the gel point.

4,6-Di-(2′-aminoäthyl)-5,5-dimethylazelainsäure-lactam wurde in mehreren Stufen, ausgehend vom 4,4′-Dihydroxydiphenyl-2,2-propan, synthetisiert. IV ließ sich bei 250 °C nicht mit verschiedenen Initiatoren (Wasser, Natrium, Hexamethylenadipamid, Säuren) polymerisieren. Die Copolymerisation von IV mit ∊-Caprolactam ergab im Bereich von 10-75% IV unlösliche Produkte, unterhalb 5 und oberhalb 90% IV dagegen lösliche. Viskositätsmessungen an den löslichen Anteilen bzw. Polymeren bestätigten eine Vorhersage von FLORY über den Verlauf des Molekulargewichtes nach Uberschreiten des Gelpunktes.
