    Notes: Abstract Several practical approaches have been used to estimate the probabilities of rare events occurring in queueing processes. Rare events of practical interest can be considered as large deviations for a fixed queueing process (such as level crossing by the waiting time, or the queue length) or as those for a limiting triangular scheme. This paper is a survey of the literature devoted to the regenerative analysis of rare events. Because of the importance of busy period parameters, rare events within a busy period are discussed. A number of small parameter theorems useful in rare events analysis are outlined, including singular states aggregation theorems. Simulation methods for rare events analysis and other numerical methods are also presented.

    Notes: Abstract The reaction of dimethylsulfonium methylide with the carbonyl function of 2-arylidene-cyclohexanones obtained from 2-methylcyclohexanone affords the corresponding spirooxiranes. The application of this reaction to 2,2-dimethyl-6-(5-methylfurfurylidene)cyclohexanone and 2,2-dimethyl-6-(5-chlorofurfurylidene)cyclohexanone leads to substituted 4,4-dimethyl-1-furyl-1,-3,4,5,6,7-hexahydroisobenzofurans.

    Notes: Abstract The 1-thiophosphorylated esters and nitriles of cycloalkanecarboxylic acids were obtained both by the direct reaction of derivatives of thiophosphorylacetic acids with α,ω-dihalogenoalkanes in the K2CO3/DMSO heterophasic system, and as a result of the reaction of the corresponding oxygen compounds with the Louson reagent.
