Summary Concentrations of heavy metals in the honey, derived fromAster tripolium was the starting-point for this investigation. Lead content of pollen inAster tripolium andTaraxacum officinale is mainly due to airborne lead. Accumulation of other heavy metals such as zinc and copper in pollen occur mainly via a translocation process from roots to flowers.
