Description: Here, we present data from the marine core from Meteor Site KL 15 drilled in 1987 during R/V Meteor cruise 5/2 at station 259 (12.85738°N, 47.41707°E). The XRF data was measured using the Avvatech XRF Core Scanner III (Serial No. 12) at MARUM (Bremen, Germany). As summarized in the age model, the record spans the past 546 thousand years at a high sampling resolution of 1 cm with a total core length of 21.67 m. The age-depth model is based on 21 AMS 14C ages and 243 stable oxygen isotope ages and was constructed using a smooth spline regression with the R package Clam (Blaauw, 2010). The XRF data has three major groups, as explained in detail in our related research article: The first group includes the subgroup of aluminum and silicon, potassium, iron and titanium, zirconium, and rubidium. The second group is strontium and calcium, and the third group, with the highest Euclidian distance to the rest of the dataset, includes only bromine. Sediment composition at Meteor Site KL 15 is predominantly controlled by carbonate, as suggested by the high carbonate contents of ca. 56% and their variability of 45 to 65% (Stein et al., 2007). In our related research article, we use the log ratio of titanium and aluminum as a proxy for aeolian input.

Description: This data set contains the UAV-based multispectral dense point clouds of a forest succession dataset in the context of boreal ecosystems survey. The data provides structural and biophysical information on forest state, structure, disturbance (wildfire, thaw slumps, windfall), thermokarst lake-shore interfaces, among others. The photogrammetric survey was conducted over 21 selected vegetation transects using the Micansense Altum multispectral camera. Each transect (500m by 200m) contains at least one ground vegetation reference plot (https://doi.pangaea.de/10.1594/PANGAEA.943547). The data was acquired in August and September 2021 (07.08.2021 - 01.09.2021) along a 670 km line segment in Central and Eastern Yakutia (Republic of Sakha), Siberia, Russia. The principal study areas are the intramontane Oymyakon region in the Verkhoyansk mountain range near Lake "Ulu", and the central-eastern Yakutian lowlands with a slightly different ecological setting. A transect was covered by UAV-based multispectral imaging at flight heights between 70-100 m above ground level, at 80-85 % forward/sideward overlap for SfM.

Description: This data set contains the UAV-based lidar data of a forest succession dataset in the context of boreal ecosystems survey. The data provides structural and biophysical information on forest state, structure, topography, morphology, disturbance (wildfire, thaw slumps, windfall), thermokarst lake-shore interfaces, among others. Main data products are Lidar-based 3D point clouds. Lidar survey was conducted over 21 selected vegetation transects. Each transect (500m by 200m) contains at least one ground vegetation reference plot (https://doi.pangaea.de/10.1594/PANGAEA.943547). The data was acquired in August and early September 2021 (07.08.2021 - 01.09.2021) along an extended 670 km line segment in Central and Eastern Yakutia (Republic of Sakha), Siberia, Russia. The principal study areas are the intramontane Oymyakon region in the Verkhoyansk mountain range near Lake "Ulu", and the central-eastern Yakutian lowlands with a slightly different ecological setting. A transect was covered by UAV-based Lidar at flight heights between 60-100 m above ground level. Subsequent analysis and segmentation algorithms allows single-tree crown and canopy analysis.

Description: “Radiation in the Cold War” investigates the way that politics, science, and society dealt with radiation in Switzerland. The study examines how Switzerland prepared for a future atomic war as well as for nuclear uses in everday life. The history of radiation and radiation protection sheds light on the political culture of Cold War Switzerland that so far has only received little attention.
