    Description: The marine pollen record from NW Iberian margin sediments (core MD03-2697) covers the interval between 340 000 and 270 000 years ago, a time period centred on Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 9. This dataset consists of pollen data enabling the documentation of vegetation changes in the north-western Iberian Peninsula and therefore the terrestrial climatic variability at orbital and in particular at millennial scales during MIS 9, directly on a marine stratigraphy.

    Description: The data come from the pollen and biomarker analyses of IODP Site U1385 collected during the expedition 339 Mediterranean Outflow in the south-western Iberian margin. We analysed Marine Isotope Stage (MIS) 18 covering the period between 757 ka and 715 ka and provide the new pollen data, i.e. the percentages of the different ecological groups (Mediterranean forest, Mediterranean or sclerophyllous taxa, pioneer trees and shrubs, heathlands and ubiquists) and the total pollen concentration along with the alkenone-based sea surface temperature (SST) and C37:4-based freshwater flux records. Additionally, we provide the pollen percentages of the Mediterranean forest along with SST records for MIS 19 to 17 (795-670 ka).

    Description: This dataset features a part of IODP Side 339-U1386 pollen record covering Termination V (404-433 kyr BP). The sediment core was retrieved from the upper slope of the Iberian margin (Gulf of Cadiz), west of the Guadalquivir watershed. We provide counted pollen both for individual taxa and for the regional ecological groups. The present dataset is consistent with previous results from IODP Side 339-U1385 and provides a higher resolution across Termination V (which is inaccessible in IODP U1385 because of a sedimentary hiatus) describing a long and moderate development of the Mediterranean forest in southwestern Iberia during MIS11.
