Gas Complexes in the System MgCl2/ScCl3 and an Appendix on MCl2/ScCl3 (M = Ca, Sr, Ba)Mass spectroscopic measurements of the composition of the equilibrium-gas above MgCl2 + ScCl3 lead to the homogeneous equilibria given in “Inhaltsübersicht”.The combination of the dimers Mg2Cl4 and Sc2Cl6 to the complex MgScCl5 gives ΔH° ≈ zero. The same is true for the combination of the trimers Mg3Cl6 and Sc3Cl9 giving Mg2ScCl7 or MgSc2Cl8, respectively.In the systems MCl2/ScCl3 (M = Ca, Sr, Ba) the complex MScCl5 has been observed.
