Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Reduktion von Zinndisulfid führt in einer reversiblen topotaktischen Reaktion zur Ausbildung von hydratisierten Phasen A x + (H2O)y[SnS2]x− mit Schichtengitterstruktur.
Notes: Abstract Reduction of tin disulfide SnS2 leads in a reversible topotactic reaction to the formation of layered hydrated phases A x + (H2O)y[SnS2]x−. The latter exhibit polyelectrolyte character, i. e. ion exchange and solvent exchange reactions as a consequence of the high mobility of the interlayer species. Structure and properties of the tin sulfide hydrates are closely related to those of transition metal dichalcogenide hydrates.

Description / Table of Contents: The Gas Molecules Sc2Cl6 and Sc3Cl9 and their StabilitySolid ScCl3 was evaporated in a mass spectrometer by means of a Knudsen cell. Besides ScCl3 and Sc2Cl6 small concentrations of Sc3Cl9 were found to be present in the vapour. Appearance potentials of the fragments and fragmentation patterns were investigated. The ions ScCl3+, Sc2Cl5+ and Sc3Cl8+ originate essentially from the corresponding parent molecules and may be used as a relative reference for the concentration of the latter. Reaction enthalpies of -47.6 kcal and -53.3 kcal (at 298 K) were observed for the equilibria 2 ScCl3,g = Sc2Cl6,g and ScCl3,g + Sc2Cl6,g = Sc3Cl9,g. The correlation between the heats of dissociation of the dimer resp. trimer molecules is discussed with respect to the heat of vaporization of the monomer chloride.

Description / Table of Contents: Gas Complexes in the System RbCl/ScCl3Homogeneous gas equilibria in the presence of RbCl or RbCl + ScCl3 respectively have been measured by mass spectroscopy. Results see “Inhaltsübersicht”. Small intensities of the fragment Rb2ScCl4+ show the existence of small concentrations of larger molecules.

Description / Table of Contents: Gaseous Complexes in the System LiCl/ScCl3Equilibrium gases, emerging from Knudsen cells, which contained LiCl, ScCl3 or LiCl + ScCl3 respectively, have been analysed by means of a mass spectrometer. The T-dependence leabs to the ΔH°-data. The relation of the fragments to the parent molecules LiCl, Li2Cl2, Li3Cl3, ScCl3, Sc2Cl6, Sc3Cl9, LiScCl4, Li2Sc2Cl8 (and LiSc2Cl7) leads to fragmentation factors. By means of these factors the ΔS°-data for the gaseous homogenous reactions given in „Inhaltsübersicht“ could be calculated.

Description / Table of Contents: Gas Complexes in the System MgCl2/ScCl3 and an Appendix on MCl2/ScCl3 (M = Ca, Sr, Ba)Mass spectroscopic measurements of the composition of the equilibrium-gas above MgCl2 + ScCl3 lead to the homogeneous equilibria given in “Inhaltsübersicht”.The combination of the dimers Mg2Cl4 and Sc2Cl6 to the complex MgScCl5 gives ΔH° ≈ zero. The same is true for the combination of the trimers Mg3Cl6 and Sc3Cl9 giving Mg2ScCl7 or MgSc2Cl8, respectively. In the systems MCl2/ScCl3 (M = Ca, Sr, Ba) the complex MScCl5 has been observed.
    Notes: Massenspektroskopische Messungen der Zusammensetzung des Gleichgewichtsgases über MgCl2 + ScCl3 führten zu den homogenen Gasgleichgewichten (Werte bei 298 K): \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ \begin{array}{*{20}c}{0,5\,{\rm Mg}_2 {\rm Cl}_4 + 0,5\,{\rm Sc}_2 {\rm Cl}_6 = {\rm MgScCl}_{5,{\rm g}};} \hfill & {\Delta{\rm H}^\circ = - \,0,7{\rm Kcal};\,\Delta{\rm S}^\circ = 2,0\,{\rm cl}} \hfill\\{{\rm MgCl}_2 + {\rm ScCl}_3 = {\rm MgScCl}_5;} \hfill & {\Delta{\rm H}^\circ = - 45,8\,{\rm Kcal};\,\Delta{\rm S}^\circ = - 28,2\,{\rm cl}} \hfill\\{{\rm Mg}_2 {\rm Cl}_4 + {\rm ScCl}_3 = {\rm Mg}_2 {\rm ScCl}_7;} \hfill & {\Delta{\rm H}^\circ = - 49,5\,{\rm Kcal};} \hfill\\{{\rm MgCl}_2 + {\rm Sc}_2 {\rm Cl}_6 = {\rm MgSc}_2 {\rm Cl}_8;} \hfill & {\Delta{\rm H}^\circ = - 49,4\,{\rm Kcal}.} \hfill\\\end{array} $$\end{document} Die Kombination der Dimeren Mg2Cl4 und Sc2Cl6 zum Komplex MgScCl5 führt ebenso zur ΔH°-Bilanz ≈ Null wie die Kombination der Trimeren Mg3Cl6 und Sc3Cl9 zu Mg2ScCl7 bzw. MgSc2Cl8.Auch in den Systemen MCl2/ScCl3 (M = Ca, Sr, Ba) tritt der Gaskomplex MScCl5 auf.
