    Description: La familia Sesarmidae incluye un grupo de cangrejos con amplia distribución ecológica, considerando que habitan el medio marino, dulceacuícola y terrestre. En Cuba, se encuentra representada por tres géneros (Aratus, Armases y Sesarma) y siete especies. En el presente trabajo se realiza una revisión del material de esta familia recolectado en la región oriental de Cuba. Se corrige la presencia de Armases angustipes, cuyo registro de Santiago de Cuba corresponde con A. ricordi, así como de Sesarma curacaoense, registrada en base a la incorrecta clasificación de juveniles de Grapsus grapsus. Se presenta una clave para la identificación de las especies de la familia presentes en Cuba, la diagnosis de las categorías taxonómicas y las ilustraciones de las especies de la región oriental.
    Description: The family Sesarmidae includes a group of crabs with wide ecological distribution, considering that they live in marine, freshwater and terrestrial habitats. In Cuba, it is represented by three genera (Aratus, Armases, and Sesarma) and seven species. In this paper, a review of the material of this family collected in the eastern region of Cuba is provided. The presence of Armases angustipes is corrected, whose re- cord from Santiago de Cuba corresponds to A. ricordi, also Sesarma curacaoense, recorded in base the wrong classification of juveniles of Grapsus grapsus. A key to the identification of the species of the family occurring in Cuba, the diagnosis of the taxa, and illustrations of the species of the eastern region are presented.
