Description: Many original research articles have been published that describe findings and outline areas for the development of kappa-opioid agonists (KOAs) as novel drugs; however, a single review article that summarizes the broad potential for KOAs in drug development does not exist. It is well-established that KOAs demonstrate efficacy in pain attenuation; however, KOAs also have proven to be beneficial in treating a variety of novel but often overlapping conditions including cardiovascular disease, pruritus, nausea, inflammatory diseases, spinal anesthesia, stroke, hypoxic pulmonary hypertension, multiple sclerosis, addiction, and post-traumatic cartilage degeneration. This article summarizes key findings of KOAs and discusses the untapped therapeutic potential of KOAs in the treatment of many human diseases.

Description: The measurement of the center of pressure (CoP) is one of the most frequently used quantitative methods for quantifying postural performance. Due to the complexity and the high biological variability of the postural control loop, a large number of different methods and parameters have been established to describe the CoP process. Furthermore, the methodological conditions such as the foot position, visual condition, sampling duration, and the data processing also have a relevant influence on the measurement results. In addition, there are various methods for recording the pressure curve, which differ in particular with regard to the filters used, the frequencies, and measurement times. The aim of the present study was the methodical comparison between different digital filters, measurement frequencies and times, and their effects on the CoP process based on a healthy reference group. The data acquisition was done with LabVIEW and the data storage was organized in a subject oriented data structure. Based on the presented results it could be seen that with a different dominant frequency in the spectrum of the group of test persons, certain filter types are required for the processing of CoP data. In the sampling range from 300 Hz to 1 kHz in the bipedal stand and 600 Hz to 1 kHz in the monopedal stand, the choice of measurement frequency had no influence on the filter result.

Description: We have generated a digital elevation model (DEM) of an area between the town of Inuvik and Eskimo Lakes near the Mackenzie Delta, Northwest Territories, Canada. We used seven TanDEM-X CoSSC pairs, acquired in summer 2015 during the TanDEM-X Science Phase, and provide here the mean elevation of the seven produced DEMs (GeoTIFF raster). The processing was based on differential SAR interferometry with the use of ArcticDEM as reference. We also provide the standard deviation map of the seven DEMs (GeoTIFF raster) as a quality indicator. The final mean DEM was validated against DGPS measurements. Height values are given in meters in reference to ellipsoid (WGS84). The pixel size of the products is 10 m. The coordinate reference system is UTM Zone 8N WGS84. Detailed description of the TanDEM-X data, interferometric processing, and the validation is given in the attached metadata file.

Description: A detailed attributed point feature shapefile of 1247 pingo locations was manually assembled from a 5m resolution digital surface model (DSM) derived from an airborne Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (IfSAR) system with data from 2002 to 2006 to assess the distribution and morphometry of pingos within a 40,000 km² area on the western Arctic Coastal Plain of northern Alaska. The study region is bounded by the Itkillik River and Colville River Delta to the east, the Beaufort and Chukchi Sea to the North, the extent of the IfSAR derived DSM to the west, and the boundary between the Arctic Coastal Plain and Foothill physiographic provinces to the south.
