Abstract It is shown that holographic interferometry can be applied to solve two problems: heating of a glass plate by a complex heat source and nonisothermal flow of a submerged jet around a wedge. The process of isolating and numbering the skeletal lines on the interferograms is automated and direct calculations are made of the temperature fields.
