Preparation and Crystal Structure Determination of Trifluoromethyliodine Tetrafluoride CF3IF4The preparation of Trifluoromethyliodine tetrafluoride (CF3IF4), from Trifluoromethyliodide (CF3I) with Trifluoromethylhypochlorite (CF3OCl), and the crystal structure of CF3IF4 at 172(1) K is described. CF3IF4 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 762.2(7) pm, b = 842.9(10) pm, c = 856.4(7) pm, β = 99.65(7)° with four formula units per unit cell.
    Notes: Es wird die Darstellung von Trifluormethyliodtetrafluorid (CF3IF4), aus Trifluormethyliodid (CF3I) und Trifluormethylhypochlorit (CF3OCl), sowie die Kristallstrukturanalyse bei 172(1) K beschrieben. CF3IF4 kristallsiert in der monoklinen Raumgruppe P21/c mit a = 762,2(7) pm, b = 842,9(10) pm, c = 856,4(7) pm, β = 99,65(7), Z = 4.

    Description / Table of Contents: The First Oxogermanate with “Stuffed Pyrgoms”: CsNa3Li8{Li[GeO4]}4By heating the binary oxides CsO0.52, NaO0.45, LiO0.5 and GeO2 in the mol. ratio 1.24:1.4:6.7:3.9 (Ni tubes; 600°C/89 resp. 65 d) we obtained for the first time CsNa3Li8{Li[GeO4]}4 in form of pale yellow prisms as well as powder: space group I4/m (I. T. No. 87) with a = 1 120.73(5); c = 651.64(5) pm; Z = 2; (four circle diffractometer data; MoKα; 5 152 Io(hkl); R = 1.7%; Rw = 1.6%), parameters see text. The structure determination confirmes its being isotypic with CsKNaLi9{Li[SiO4]}4, CsKNa2Li8{Li[SiO4]}4 and RbNa3Li8{Li[SiO4]}4. The Madelung part of lattice energy (MAPLE), effective coordination numbers (ECoN), mean fictive ionic radii (MEFIR) and the charge distribution (CHARDI) are calculated.
    Notes: Durch Tempern der binären Oxide CsO0,52, NaO0,45, LiO0,5 und GeO2 im mol. Verhältnis 1,24:1,4:6,7:3,9 (Ni-Bömbchen; 600°C/89 bzw. 65 d) wurden erstmals Einkristalle von CsNa3Li8{Li[GeO4]}4 in Form von schwachgelblichen Prismen sowie blaßgelbem Pulver erhalten: Raumgruppe I4/m (I. T. Nr. 87) mit a = 1 120,73(5); c = 651,64(5) pm; Z = 2; (Vierkreisdiffraktometerdaten; Mo-Kα; 5 152 Io(hkl); R = 1,7%; Rw = 1,6%), Parameter siehe Text. Die Strukturbestimmung belegt die Isotypie mit CsKNaLi9{Li[SiO4]}4, CsKNa2Li8{Li[SiO4]}4 und RbNa3Li8{Li[SiO4]}4.     Notes: The preparation of the disilver(I) complexes 3 and 4, polyene metal complexes that are terminally substituted with [2.2.2]paracyclophanyl units, is described. NMR spectro-scopic studies on the disilver perchlorate complex 3b showed that (a) the sites of complexation are the cyclophane groups and (b) the olefinic spacers do not overly perturb the overall complexation properties of the individual [2.2.2]paracyclo-phanyl groups. The crystal structures of the disilver hexafluo-roantimonate complexes 4a-b were determined. The use of the hexafluoroantimonate counterion and solvent mixtures containing toluene both proved crucial in obtaining single crystals; toluene is incorportated into the crystal lattices.

Geburtstag gewidmet.The reaction of chlordimethylphosphane or chlordiphenyl-phosphane and sodium tetraphenylborate with dicarbonyl(η5-cyclopentadienyl)carbyne complexes of molybdenum and tungsten enables the direct conversion of a M=CR group into a M=C(R)—PR2 unit providing dicarbonyl substituted η2-phosphinocarbene complexes in high yields. In the absence of Na[BPh4] a base induced carbonyl carbene coupling reaction affords η3-phosphinoketene complexes.

    Description / Table of Contents: A ‘Reductive Exchange Reaction’: Single Crystals of Rb2[MnO4] from Li[MnO4]By heating of well ground mixtures of the oxides RbO0.9 and Li[MnO4] (Rb:Mn = 1.5:1; Ag-tubes; 660°C, 56 d) dark-green, orthorhombic single-crystals of Rb2[MnO4] were obtained. The structural determination revealed the isotype to K2[MnO4]; a β-K2SO4-typ. Thus, for the first time by a pure solid-state-chemical way, via a reductive, complete alkali-metal exchange, single crystals of an oxomanganate(VI) of the alkali metals were prepared.The Madelung Part of the Lattice Energy, MAPLE, and the charge distribution were calculated.
    Notes: Durch Tempern inniger Gemenge der Oxide RbO0,9 und Li[MnO4] (Rb:Mn = 1,5:1; Ag-Zylinder; 660°C, 56 d) wurden dunkelgrüne, orthorhombische Einkristalle von Rb2[MnO4] erhalten. Die Einkristallstrukturbestimmung belegt die Isotypie zu K2[MnO4]; es liegt der β-K2SO4-Typ vor. Somit konnten erstmals auf rein festkörperchemischem Weg, über einen reduktiven, vollständigen Alkalimetall-Austausch, Einkristalle eines Oxomanganates(VI) der Alkalimetalle dargestellt werden.Der Madelung-Anteil der Gitterenergie, MAPLE, sowie die Ladungsverteilung wurden berechnet.

    Description / Table of Contents: A New Synthetic Route for the Preparation of Perfluoroorganoselenium and -tellurium CompoundsA new synthetic route for the preparation of perfluoroorganoselenium and -tellurium compounds is presented. By the reaction of disodiumchalcogenides Na2Ex (x = 1, 2; E = Se, Te) with C6F5X or C2F5X (X = Br, I) in liquid ammonia, thf or dmf the corresponding selenium and tellurium compounds are obtained in good yields. The reaction conditions are described.
    Notes: Perfluororganoselen- und -tellur-Verbindungen entstehen bei den Reaktionen von Dinatriumchalkogeniden Na2Ex (x = 1, 2; E = Se, Te) mit C6F5X oder C2F5X (X = Br, I) in flüssigem Ammoniak, THF oder DMF in guten Ausbeuten. Die Reaktionsbedingungen werden beschrieben.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zur azentrischen Kristallstruktur von CsGaHP3O10 der Form IIIDurch Kristallisation aus einer Polyphosphorsäure-Schmelze wurde CsGaHP3O10-III in Form farbloser, prismatisch-plättchenförmiger Einkristalle erhalten.Hier liegt die orthorhombische (azentrische) Raumgruppe Pca21 mit a = 1 176,3(1) pm, b = 496,55(5) pm, c = 1 572,2(1) pm und Z = 4 vor (1 268 symmetrieunabhängige Reflexe (Io 〉 2σ(Io)), 140 freie Parameter, wR2 = 0,0742 (SHELXL-93)).Isolierte P3O10-Ketten sind durch Ga zu Schichten parallel (0 0 1) verknüpft. Diese werden durch Cs sowie durch Wasserstoffbrücken untereinander verbunden. Die Schichten sind jeweils um c/2 voneinander getrennt.Diese neue Struktur wird mit den bereits bekannten von CsGaHP3O10-I und Cs3Ga3P12O36 verglichen. Weiterhin werden die Mittleren Fiktiven Ionenradien (MEFIR), die Effektiven Koordinationszahlen (ECoN) sowie die Ladungsverteilung nach dem CHARDI-Konzept berechnet und diskutiert.
    Notes: Cesium gallium hydrogen triphosphate CsGaHP3O10-III crystallizes in the space group Pca21, a = 1 176.3(1) pm, b = 496.55(5) pm, c = 1 572.2(1) pm and Z = 4.The structure was solved by using 1 268 unique reflections Io 〉 2σ(Io) with a final wR2 value of 0.0742 (SHELXL-93).The P3O10 chain anions, bonded by Ga, are spreaded in layers parallel (0 0 1); the layers are interconnected by Cspolyhedra and obviously by hydrogen bonds. The interlayer distance is c/2.The new structure is compared with the previously known structures of CsGaHP3O10-I and Cs3Ga3P12O36.Effective Coordination Numbers (ECoN), Mean Fictive Ionic Radii (MEFIR), and the Charge Distribution (CHARDI) are calculated for the title compound.

    Description / Table of Contents: 1,2-Diphospha-3,4-diboretanes and 1,3-Diphospha-2,4,5-triborolane: Synthesis and Structure as well as Calculations on the Molecular Structure On the Effect of Substituents on the Structure of 1,2-Diphospha-3,4-diboretane[2 + 2]-Cyclocondensation reactions led to the synthesis of the 1,2-diphospha-3,4-diboretanes [(t-BuP)2B2(NMe2)2], 1 a, and [(t-BuP)2B(NMe2)B(NiPr2)], 1 b. Their molecular structures have been determined by X-ray methods, and these are compared with the structure of [(t-Bu)P—BN(iPr2)]2, 2 a. Compounds 1 show a folded B2P2 four membered ring having tert.-butyl groups in anti-positions. Ab initio calculations on 1,2-diphospha-3,4-diboretanes demonstrate that two conformers with anti-orientation of the substituents at the phosphorus atoms can be expected. These differ by the relative orientation of the almost planar P2BR groups to the BP2 plane. The influence of substituents (H and NH2 at the B atoms, and H and Me at the P atoms) on the ring conformation has been studied. Finally, the first derivative of a 1,3-diphospha-2,4,5-triborolane, 3 a, is reported.
    Notes: Durch [2 + 2]-Cyclokondensationen wurden die 1,2-Diphospha-3,4-diboretane [(t-BuP)2B2(NMe2)2], 1 a, und [(t-BuP)2B(NMe2)B(NiPr2)], 1 b, dargestellt, ihre Molekülstrukturen mit Röntgenbeugungsmethoden bestimmt und mit der Struktur von [(t-Bu)P—B(NiPr2)]2, 2 a, verglichen. In den Verbindungen 1 liegen gefaltete B2P2-Vierringe vor mit anti-ständigen tert.-Butylgruppen, während das Ringsystem in 2 a planar gebaut ist, die tert.-Butylgruppen aber ebenfalls anti-Stellung einnehmen. Ab initio-Rechnungen an 1,2-Diphospha-3,4-diboretanen belegen, daß zwei unterschiedliche Konformere mit anti-Orientierung der Substituenten an den P-Atomen stabil sind, die sich durch die relative Orientierung der annähernd trigonal-planaren P2BR-Baugruppen zur BP2-Ebene voneinander unterscheiden. Der Einfluß von Substituenten (H und NH2 am B-Atom, H und CH3 am P-Atom) wird ermittelt. Beschrieben wird ferner das erste Derivat eines 1,3-Diphospha-2,4,5-triborolans, 3 a.

    Description / Table of Contents: A Contribution on the Compound CaBeNd2O5 and Phases of the Composition M1-xMx'BeLn2O5 (M = Ca, Ba; M′ = Sr; x = 0.5).CaBeNd2O5 and the phases (I): Ba0,5Sr0,5BeLa2O5 and (II): Ca0,5Sr0,5BeDy2O5 have been prepared by high temperature reactions using a CO2-LASER. They crystallize with orthorhombic symmetry, space group D2h16-Pnma, CaBeNd2O5: a = 9.448(1), b = 7.155(1), c = 6.483(1) Å; (I) a = 9.821(4), b = 7.436(3), c = 6.734(3) Å; (II): a = 9.352(2), b = 7.016(2), c = 6.375(2) Å; Z = 4, and belong to the isotypic series CaBeLn2O5 and SrBeLn2O5. Calculations of Coulomb energies of ordered BaBeLn2O5 and EuBeLn2O5 and disordered CaBeLn2O5, SrBeLn2O5 and EuBeNd2O5 show dependencies of the ionic radii of the M2+ and Ln3+ ions as well as of the order/disorder state.
    Notes: CaBeNd2O5 und die Phasen (I): Ba0,5Sr0,5BeLa2O5 und (II): Ca0,5Sr0,5BeDy2O5 wurden durch Hochtemperaturreaktionen mit einem CO2-LASER präpariert. Sie kristallisieren mit orthorhombischer Symmetrie, Raumgruppe D2h16-Pnma, CaBeNd2O5: a = 9,448(1), b = 7,155(1), c = 6,483(1) Å; (I): a = 9,821(4), b = 7,436(3), c = 6,734(3) Å; (II): a = 9,352(2), b = 7,016(2), c = 6,375(2) Å; Z = 4 und gehören zu den isotypen Serien CaBeLn2O5 und SrBeLn2O5. Berechnungen der Coulombenergien von geordnet kristallisierenden Stoffen BaBeLn2O5 und EuBeLn2O5 sowie ungeordneten der Formel CaBeLn2O5, SrBeLn2O5 und EuBeNd2O5 zeigen eine Abhängigkeit von den Ionenradien der M2+- und Ln3+ -Ionen als auch vom Ordnungs-/Unordnungszustand.
