The properties of the x-ray diffraction equipment for high-pressure experiments are described. The construction has a modular structure which facilitates its use. Three different modes are possible: (i) Energy dispersive method using a polychromatic incident beam; (ii) monochromatic method using a position sensitive detector; (iii) monochromatic scan method, using a detector at a fixed angle and a monochromator scan through the energy range of interest. By employing a nitrogen cryostat and a diamond anvil cell, high-pressure work in the temperature range of 135 up to 500 K can be performed as well. High-pressure work at temperatures lower than 135 K is made with a Helium cryostat.
