Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary The investigation of brick and wall slab fragments from an area of a Roman settlement near Schwarzenholz (Saarland) is presented as an example for the evaluation of chemical analysis data and results of the visual study of the sliced fragments. Suited analysis methods are X-ray fluorescence analysis and atomic absorption analysis. By means of taxometry, the fragments can be classified into the groups “Local Material”, “Blickweiler” and “Signed Material”. The results of the investigations allow to determine the percentage of the different productions found at one site, and thus give the archaeologist information about the economical relations.
