Pentacarbonyl[methyl(methylseleno)carbene] Complexes of Chromium(0) and Tungsten(0) and Pentacarbonyl{trimethylphosphine[methyl(methylseleno)methylene]}tungstenPentacarbonyl(methylmethoxycarbene)chromium(0) and -tungsten(0) react with pure methylselenol with cleavage of methanol to give pentacarbonyl[methyl(methylseleno)carbene]chromium(0) and -tungsten(0). The latter one yields the corresponding pentacarbonyl{trimethylphosphine[methyl(methylseleno)methylene]}tungsten with trimethylphosphine at low temperatures. The structures of the thermolabile compounds were ascertained by their spectra.
    Notes: Pentacarbonyl(methylmethoxycarben)chrom(0) und -wolfram(0) reagieren mit reinem Methylselenol unter Abspaltung von Methanol zu Pentacarbonyl[methyl(methylseleno)carben]chrom(0) bzw. -wolfram(0). Letzteres setzt sich mit Trimethylphosphin bei tiefen Temperaturen zum entsprechenden Pentacarbonyl{trimethylphosphin[methyl(methylseleno)methylen]}wolfram um. Die Strukturen der thermolabilen Verbindungen wurden spektroskopisch gesichert.

Different Behaviour of 2- and 4-Arylthio-2-(trifluoromethyl)oxazolin-5-ones on Thermolysis: Formation of 2H-1,3-Benzothiazines and Alkene Derivatives by Cycloelimination of CO2 and loss of CO respectively4-Isopropyl-2-(trifluoromethyl)-3-oxazolin-5-one (1) reacts with arylsulfonic acid thioarylesters and triethylamine to give 2-arylthio-3-oxazolinones 2, which on heating to 150°C decompose with formation of CO2 and 2H-1,3-benzothiazines 7. Arylsulfenyl chlorides, however, give the isomeric 4-arylthio derivatives 3, which on thermolysis afford CO and 1-arylthio-2-methyl-1-(trifluoroacetamido)-1-propenes 9, a reaction without precedent in oxazolinone chemistry. Possible causes for the different thermal behaviour of 2 and 3 are discussed.
    Notes: 4-Isopropyl-2-(trifluormethyl)-3-oxazolin-5-on (1) setzt sich mit Arylsulfonsäure-thioarylestern und Triäthylamin zu 2-Arylthio-3-oxazolinonen 2 um, die beim Erhitzen auf 150°C in CO2 und 2H-1,3-Benzothiazine 7 zerfallen. Arylsulfenylchloride liefern dagegen isomere 4-Arylthio-Derivate 3, deren thermische Spaltung in CO und 1-Arylthio-2-methyl-1-(trifluoracetamido)-1-propene 9 in der Oxazolinon-Reihe bisher ohne Beispiel ist. Mögliche Gründe für das unterschiedliche thermische Verhalten von 2 und 3 werden diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Diyne Reaction, XVIII 4,4-Dimethyl-1,7-diphenyl-1,6-heptadiyne-3,5-dione, a New Diyne ComponentThe first example of the use of an aliphatic bis-acetylene 1 in the diyne reaction is reported. The synthesis of 4,4-dimethyl-1,7-diphenyl-1,6-heptadiyne-3,5-dione (1) via 4,4-dimethyl-1,7-diphenyl-1,6-heptadiyne-3,5-diol (3) is described. The reaction of compound 1 with chlorotris-(triphenylphosphine)rhodium(I) affords a rhodium complex 2 in quantitative yield. Rhodacyclopentadiene 2 reacts with diphenylacetylene and with chalkogenes to give derivatives of indandione (4), cyclopenta[c]furan (5), cyclopenta[c]thiophene (6), and cyclopenta[c]selenophene (7), respectively.
    Notes: Erstmals wurde die Diin-Reaktion mit einem aliphatischen Bis-acetylen (1) untersucht. Die Synthese von 4,4-Dimethyl-1,7-diphenyl-1,6-heptadiin-3,5-dion (1) über 4,4-Dimethyl-1,7- diphenyl-1,6-heptadiin-3,5-diol (3) wird beschrieben. 1 bildet mit Tris(triphenylphosphin)-rhodium(1)-chlorid quantitativ einen Rhodiumkomplex 2. Das Rhodacyclopentadien 2 ergibt bei Umsetzung mit Diphenylacetylen ein Indandion-Derivat 4 und mit Chalkogenen das entsprechende Cyclopenta[c]furan (5), -thiophen (6) bzw. -selenophen (7).

The Formation of μ3-Organoimido(„Organonitrene“) Complexes from (Cyclopentadienyl)nitrosylnickelThe reaction of organolithium compounds, LiR (R = C6H5, tert-C4H9), with (cyclopentadienyl)nitrosylnickel, C5H5NiNO, in tetrahydrofuran or ether leads, by means of initial carbanion addition to the nitrogen atom of the nitrosyl ligand, to trinuclear, paramagnetic organoimido or „organonitrene“ complexes whose formula is (C5H5Ni3NR and in which the organoimido group acts as a μ 3-bridging ligand. A side reaction whereby substitution of the cyclopentadienyl rings occurs can largely be suppressed by working at -40°. The properties and the i.r., 1H n.m.r., and mass spectroscopic findings on these complexes are described and interpreted.
    Notes: Die Umsetzung von Lithiumorganylen LiR (R = C6H5, tert-C4H9) mit (Cyclopentadienyl)-nitrosylnickel, C5H5NiNO, in Tetrahydrofuran oder äther führt unter primärer Carbanion-Addition an das N-Atom des Nitrosylliganden zu dreikernigen, paramagnetischen Organoimido- oder „Organonitren“-Komplexen der Form (C5H5Ni3NR, in denen die Organoimidogruppe eine μ3-Brückenfunktion ausübt. Eine Nebenreaktion, bei der zusätzlich Substitution an den Cyclopentadienylringen eintritt, läßt sich durch Arbeiten bei -40° weitgehend unterdrücken. Die Eigenschaften sowie die IR-, 1H-NMR- und massenspektroskopische Untersuchung dieser Komplexe werden beschrieben und interpretiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Thermal spraying. Thermal spraying in comparison with other coating techniques is characterized by a broad variability of base and spraying materials. After a brief description of actually used equipments some coating properties are summarized. Thermally sprayed special metal will become interesting in near future from commercial and technical point of view. With those metals homogeneous coatings can be produced without porosity.
    Notes: Das thermische Spritzen zeichnet sich gegenüber anderen Verfahren zur Oberflächenbeschichtung durch die Vielfältigkeit der verwendbaren Grund- und Spritzwerkstoffe aus. Neben einer Beschreibung gegenwärtig eingesetzter Geräte wird kurz auf den Schichtaufbau eingegangen. Wirtschaftlich und technisch von besonderem Interesse werden in naher Zukunft thermisch gespritzte Schichten aus Sondermetallen sein, die sich unter Schutzgas porenfrei und homogen erzeugen lassen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Corrosion of galvanized ferrous materials by natural watersLaboratory and field test with galvanized irons do not reveal clear interrelations between water quality and corrosion. Likewise it is not possible on the basis of potential measurements to make any statement with respect to the formation of protective layers. It is for this reason that some doubt may be expressed as to the applicability of the test method according to DIN 50 930, the more so as the formation of ZnCO3 could be shown to take place in some few cases only.
    Notes: Laboratoriums- und Feldversuche mit verzinktem Eisen zeigen keine eindeutigen Zusammenhänge zwischen Wasserbeschaffenheit und Korrosion. Ebenso ist es nicht möglich, aufgrund von Potentialmessungen Aussagen über die Schutzschichtbildung zu machen. Aus diesem Grunde kann auch die Anwendbarkeit der Untersuchungsmethode nach DIN 50 930 in Zweifel gezogen werden, zumal nur in Einzelfällen die Bildung von ZrCO3 eindeutig nachgewiesen werden konnte.

    Notes: Trialkylcyanosilane werden an Aldehyde und Ketone addiert. Dabei entstehen gem.-Trialkylsiloxy-cyanoalkane des Typs 1, 2 und 3. In den IR-Spektren dieser Verbindungen ist die CN-Bande nur angedeutet. Das läßt auf eine Beeinträchtigung der CN-Schwingung durch intramolekulare Wechselwirkungen zwischen der CN-Gruppe und dem Si-Atom schließen. Diese Annahme wird durch massenspektroskopische Untersuchungen gestützt.
