Summary A micro method is described for the direct titration of the halogen content (Cl, Br, I) of organic compounds —following combustion in oxygen —in the absorption liquid with 0.01N silver nitrate. The endpoint is signalled by means of variamine blue acetate as redox indicator. The sulfur and chlorine contained in organic compounds can be determined in the same sample, provided the sulfate ion in the absorption liquid is first determined by means of barium perchlorate solution by the method ofI. S. Fritz andS. S. Yamamura, orE. Wagner. The chloride ion content can then be measured directly by argentometric titration as described in this paper.
