    Notes: Aus dem Kulturfiltrat von zwei Streptomyceten, welche Streptomyces ambofaciens Pinnert-Sindico nahestehen, wurden 4 lipophile, basische Antibiotica - die Foromacidine A, B, C und D - isoliert. Die Foromaeidine A, B und C liefern durch milde saure Hydrolyse Nycarose, einen Dimethylamino-zucker und Forocidin A, B bzw. C. Durch alkalische Hydrolyse wird aus Foromacidin B und Forocidin B 1 Mol Essigsäure, und aus Foromacidin C und Forocidin C 1 Mol Propionsäure abgespalten. Die Zusammensetzung und die analytisch nachgewiesenen funktionellen Gruppen deuten auf eine Verwandtschaft der Foromacidine mit den Antibiotica der Carbomycin-Erythromycin-Gruppe hin. Die Foromacidine zeichnen sich durch bemerkenswerte antibiotische Wirksamkeit in vitro und in vivo aus und besitzen eine geringe Toxizität.

    Notes: Es wird gezeigt, daß das nach Wolffenstein und Reitmann aus (-)-Spartein mit Hypobromit erhältliche „Dehydrospartein“ vom Schmp. 179° dimolekular ist und demnach die Summenformel C30H48N4 besitzt. Die gleiche Summenformel kommt einem bisher als Hydrat dieses Dehydrosparteins angesehenen Isomeren vom Schmp. 150° zu. Die Verbindungen werden jetzt als α- und β-Diplospartyrin bezeichnet. Es wird weiter gezeigt, daß bei der Dehydrierung des (-)-Sparteins mit Hypobromit bei niedrigem p H (∼2) bevorzugt das α-, bei etwas höherem p h(∼6) das β-Diplospartyrin entsteht; letzteres läßt sich auf verschiedenen Wegen leicht in α-Diplospartyrin umlagern. Die Entstehung dimolekularer Verbindungen wird als eine Aldimkondensation primär entstehender Dehydrosparteine aufgefaßt und in Parallele gesetzt zum Übergang des Δ1-Piperideins in Tetrahydro-anabasin und des N-Methyl-piperideins in N,N′-Dimethyl-tetrahydro-anabasin.Bei der katalytischen Hydrierung der Diplospartyrine werden 2 Moll. Wasserstoff aufgenommen, wobei aus beiden Isomeren dasselbe Tetrahydro-diplospartyrin entsteht, bei dessen Bildung 1 Mol. Wasserstoff zur Aufspaltung einer C—N-Bindung verbraucht wird. Die entstandene NH-Gruppe wird durch die Bildung einer kristallisierten Monoacetyl-Verbindung und eines Phenylthioharnstoffs nach-gewiesen. Die Hydrierung der Diplospartyrine wird in Parallele gesetzt zur Hydrierung des N,N′-Dimethyl-tetrahydro-anabasins zum 1-Methyl-3-[5-methylamino-pentyl]-piperidin.Die Konstitutionsmöglichkeiten für die Diplospartyrine und die stereochemischen Verhältnisse werden diskutiert.

    Notes: Photooxydation of (+)-3-methoxy-N-methyl-morphinan hydrobromide (I, HBr, Romilar Roche) yields (-)-3-methoxy-10-oxo-N-methyl-morphinan (II). The structure of the compound has been established. The introduction of a carbonyl group in position 10 is easily achieved in good yield also by oxydation with chromic acid. Whereas reduction of the 10-oxo-compound with lithium aluminium hydride leaves the tetracyclic ring structure of the morphinan compound unchanged, reduction according to Clemmensen causes scission of the ring, leading to a tricyclic octahydro-phenanthrene with angular basic side chain, the structure of which has been established by synthesis. Pharmacological tests revealed that the introduction of a carbonyl or hydroxy group in position 10 of the dextro series of morphinans causes a marked decrease in the antitussive activity. The corresponding derivatives of the Zaevo series have almost entirely lost their analgesic activity.

    Notes: Dodeca-(3trans, 5trans)-diene-2-one and 4-Δ1-cyclohexenyl-but-(3trans)-ene-2-one were prepared, whereas the syntheses of dodeca-(3cis,5trans)-diene-2-one and 4-Δ1-cyclohexenyl-but-(3cis)-ene-2-one practically failed. Partial hydrogenation of the corresponding acetylenic ketones gave mixtures containing trans-ketones, enolic ethers, unchanged starting material and compounds of higher degree of saturation than the dienones. Cis-ketones could not be detected with certainty.

    Notes: Squalene was synthesized in a modified procedure according to P. Karrer & A. Helfensteiqa starting from naturel and from synthetic nerolidol. After purification through the thio-urea adduct the synthetic products were found to be identical with pure natural squalene in their chemical and physical properties as well as in their biological behaviour.

    Notes: Bei der Umsetzung von 2- und 4-Picolin-halogenmethylaten mit p-Nitroso-dimethyl-anilin werden Nitrone (z. B. II), mit p-Nitrosodiäthyl-anilin dagegen die entsprechenden Anile (z. B. Ib) erhalten. Während aus n-Nitrobenzyl-pyridiniumsalzen und p-Nitroso-dimethyl-anilin sowohl mit Alkali als auch mit Piperidin als Katalysator unter Pyridin-Abspaltung p-Nitrobenzaldehyd-p-dimethyl-aminophenyl-nitron entstand, erhielten wir mit p-Nitroso-diäthylanilin nur bei Anwendung von Alkali bei Zimmertemperatur das Diäthylaminophenyl-nitron, mit Piperidin bei 80° bildete sich das entsprechende Anil.

    Notes: Die Zersetzung des Peroxydisulfat-Ions wurde in Lösungen von verschiedenen pH einerseits durch die Verfolgung der Potentialänderung der entstandenen Peroxyschwefelsäure, anderseits auf analytischem Wege untersucht.Diese Ergebnisse wurden mit denen in Anwesenheit der Katalysator-Ionen Cu, Fe, Mn, Ag gemessenen verglichen. Daraus konnte die katalytische Wirksamkeit dieser Ionen festgestellt werden.
