    Description / Table of Contents: A series of polymers having pendant phenylbenzoate groups of different length was investigated by detailled x-ray measurements within a wide range of temperature. Very long flexible terminal chains were found to penetrate each other. Increase in temperature results in improved liquid-crystalline structure of polymers having methacrylate main chains but in less significant structural features with polymers based on acrylate main chains at T 〉 Tg.
    Notes: An einer Polymerreihe mit seitlichen Phenylbenzoatgruppen verschiedener Länge wurden eingehende röntgenographische Untersuchungen in einem weiten Temperaturbereich durchgeführt. Es konnte gezeigt werden, daß sehr lange flexible endständige Ketten ineinander eindringen. Eine Temperaturerhöhung führt zur Verbesserung der kristallin-flüssigen Struktur bei Polymeren mit Methacrylat-Hauptkette und zu einer gewissen Verschlechterung bei Polymeren mit Acrylat-Hauptkette bei T 〉 Tg.

    Description / Table of Contents: Die Untersuchung der viskosimetrischen, konduktometrischen und dielektrischen Eigenschaften verdünnter Lösungen von vier Proben des Poly-[bis-(trifluoroethoxy)phosphazens] zeigte, daß das Polymer einen Polyelektrolytcharakter aufweist. Es wird angenommen, daß dies auf die Anwesenheit anomaler Kettenglieder in den Makromolekülen zurückzuführen ist.
    Notes: By investigating the viscosimetric, conductometric and dielectric properties of four samples of poly[bis-(trifluoroethoxyphosphazenes)] the polymer was found to have polyelectrolyte characteristics which are suggested to be caused by anomalous units within the macromolecular chain.

Die Ergebnisse werden unter der Annahme struktureller Umwandlungen der makromolekularen Helices interpretiert, was ein lokales Schmelzen der Helices voraussetzt.
    Notes: The results of the study of polypropylene crystallization from the oriented paracrystalline state and the transition to the smectic state observed during isometric melting of the samples crystallized in this manner are interpreted from the viewpoint of structural transition in helical polypropylene macromolecules inevitably involving the local melting of helices.

    Notes: A kinetic study of the propagation mechanism of the alternating copolymerization of styrene (St) with methyl methacrylate (MMA) in the presence of a complexing agent (diethylaluminum chloride, DEAC) in bulk and in tetrachloroethylene solutions at a molar ratio DEAC/MMA = 0.5 has been carried out. It has been shown that the copolymerization is a chain radical process characterized by a short active-center lifetime, bimolecular termination, and high rate of chain transfer to the complexed MMA. A kinetic scheme has been proposed for the propagation mechanism of alternating copolymerization in the presence of a complexing agent not requiring independent measurements of the equilibrium constant of complexation. It has been found that spontaneous and UV-initiated copolymerizations in the system have different mechanisms of initiation and a common mechanism of propagation. The propagation proceeds by addition of single monomers as well as donor-acceptor complexes of the comonomers to the propagation radicals, with the first mechanism being predominant. Inclusion of the monomers in the complex leads to an increase of the St reactivity and to a decrease of the MMA reactivity in propagation to the corresponding macroradicals in comparison with the reactivity of the free monomers. A number of kinetic and statistical parameters of the propagation reaction have been calculated.

Dabei wurde gezeigt, daß die Anwesenheit anomaler Kettenglieder wie in den Makromolekülen des Poly-[bis-(trifluoroethoxy)phosphazens] zur Entstehung ionogener Gruppen in diesem Polymer führt.
    Notes: The cause of polyelectrolyte characteristics of polyorganophosphazenes was investigated. The presence of anomalous units as was found to result in the formation of ionogenic groups.

    Notes: Temperature dependences of viscoelastic characteristics for a model system epoxy resin-glass beads covered with poly(buthylmethacrylate) were studied. The formation of interphase region was established with its own relaxation maximum. The structure of this region is supposed to be a kind of semi-interpenetrating network formed by crosslinked and linear polymers. Using the Gordon-Taylor equation, the volume fractions of both polymeric components in the interphase region were calculated. An experimental evidence in favor of theoretical calculations has been obtained showing some increase in the glass transition temperature of a two-phase polymeric system by introducing small amounts of the component with a lower glass temperature as compared with this temperature for the main component.

    Description / Table of Contents: Eine theoretische Analyse der experimentellen Ergebnisse über den Einfluß der Konzentration der wachsenden Ketten auf die Polymerisationsgeschwindigkeit von Butadien und die Mikrostruktur des Polybutadiens bestätigt die frühere Annahme über eine unmittelbare Beteiligung der assoziierten Formen der lebenden Polybutadienyllithiumketten in den Wachstumsschritten.
    Notes: The theoretical analysis of experimental data on the influence of the concentration of growing chains on the polymerization rate and the microstructure of polybutadiene carried out in this paper confirms previous suggestion that associated forms of living polybutadienyllithium chains directly participate in the progagation stage.

    Description / Table of Contents: Aus der Literatur bekannte und weitere experimentelle Ergebnisse zur Synthese von Polymernetzwerken im Verbound mit einem linearen Polymer (semi-IPN) durch Zweistufen-Zwitterion-Polymerisation von Mischungen aus Diisocyanaten und polaren Vinyl-oder heterocyclischen Monomeren werden vorgestellt. Die Werte von physikalisch-mechanischen Eigenschaften der Kompositionen im Glaszustand werden angegeben. Auf der Grundlage der durch Messung der Triübungsspektren und der dielektrischen Relaxation erhaltenen ergebnisse wird versucht, die strukturellen und morphologischen Besonderheiten sich durchdringender polymerer Netzwerke zu beschreiben.
    Notes: Literature and experimental data are reported on the synthesis of semi-IPN's by two-stage zwitterion polymerization of mixtures of diisocyanates and polar vinyl and heterocyclic monomers. Data on the physical mechanical properties of compositions in the glassy state are provided. On the basis of data obtained by turbidity spectra and dielectric relaxation the structure and morphologic features of IPN's are outlined.

    Description / Table of Contents: Die Hydrolyse als Nebenreaktion bei der Substitution der Chloratome gegen Trifluorethoxygruppen im Polydichlorphosphazen wurde untersucht. Diese Nebenreaktion Lauft bei der Synthese von Poly-[bis-(trifluorethoxy)phosphazen] selbst bei Verwendung von geringe Mengen Restwasser (0,005 bis 0,006 Vol.-%) enthaltenden Lösungsitteln ab. Die Effektivität der Hydrolyse als Nebenreaktion hängt von der Wassermenge im Reaktionsmedium und der Dauer des Substitutionsprozesses ab. Es wurde festgestellt, daß in Gegenwart von 2,2,2,-Trifluorethanol die Wahrsheinlichkeit der Polyphosphazenhydrolyse im Reaktionssystem Kleiner wird.
    Notes: The hydrolysis as a secondary reaction in the substitution of chlorine atoms by trifluoroethyl groups in poly(dichlorophosphazene)s has been investigated. This reaction proceeds in the synthesis of poly-[bis-(trifluoroethoxy)phosphazenes] selbst bei Verwendung von geringe Mengen Restwasser (0,005 bis 0,006 Vol.-%) The efficiency of Hydrolysis as a side reaction depends on the amount of water in the reaction medium and the time required for substitution. The probability of the hydrolysis of phosphazenes was found to decrease in the presence of 2,2,2-trifluorethanol.

    Description / Table of Contents: Mittels der Mittel- und Niederspannungselektronenmikroskopie wurde die Struktur de Poly-[bis-(trifluorethoxy)-phosphazens] an verdünnten Lösungenin orgfanischen Lösungsmitteln untersucht. Es wurden zwei Strukturtypen beobachtet, nämlich individuelle Makromoleküle und Assoziate. Der Charakter der übermolekularen Gebilde hängt von der Lösungsmittelnatur ab. Die Ergebnisse wurden einer statistischen Rechnerauswertung untrzogen.
    Notes: By means of medium and low voltage electron microscopy the structure of poly-[bis-(trifluoroethoxy)phosphanzenes] in dilute solutions of organic solvents was investigated. Two types of structure were observed, namely individual macromolecules and associates. The characteristics of the supramolecular structure were found to depend on the kind of solvent. The results were evaluated by computer calculation.
