Notes:
Depolarization measurements on solutions of polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, polvdieblorostyrene, and tobacco mosaic virus have been made in order to examine various aspects of the qualitative theory proposed in the foregoing paper. In the case of the polymers the variation Of Ph and p, with concentration and solvent ability have been verified. The value of P, for tobacco mosaic virus is quite small as expected, and the value of ph for different virus preparations increases with decreasing molecular length as predicted.
