    Notes: Abstract The chemical composition of Cu y Cr2Se4−z Br x spinels depends strongly on the preparation parameters. Spinels with 0.8≲y≲1.2, 0.5≲x≲2, and 0≲z−x≲0.2 have been prepared. Whereas the lattice constanta o of these spinels differs only by less than approximately 0.6%, their Curie temperatureT c depends sensitively on the spinel composition. For Cu1.1Cr2Se3.4Bro.46,a o=1.0410 nm andT c=310 K were found to compared witha 0=1.0447 nm andT c=84 K of CuCr2Se2Br2.

    Notes: Abstract Optical isotope shifts of four lines in the atomic spectrum of xenon have been measured using enriched samples of all stable xenon isotopes. The spectrograms were recorded with the aid of a pressure-scanned Fabry-Pérot interferometer and analysed by digital data techniques. The measured isotope shifts are shown to be self-consistent by means of a King plot. An estimate of the specific mass effect is given and the changesδ 〈r 2〉 of the mean square radius of the nuclear charge distribution are extracted from the measured shifts. These changesδ 〈r 2〉 are discussed in terms of the nuclear deformation parameterβ 2. The results for the deformation of the stable even xenon isotopes are shown to be in good agreement with the systematic of deformation found for the neighbouring elements from Coulomb excitation experiments.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The continuum theory of moving dislocations is mathematically analogue toMaxwell's equations of electrodynamics. This analogy shows that the present linear theory of dislocations is incomplete and must be supplemented by constitutive equations between dynamic and kinematic quantities. The generalized electrodynamics ofMie points the way to a Lagrange density. While, in the static case the stress funtions of the continuum are reaction forces with the task to prevent the moving of dislocations, they become impressed forces in the field of moving dislocations and are connectet with the dislocation density by constitutive equations.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Kontinuumstheorie wandernder Versetzungen steht in mathematischer Analogie zu denMaxwellschen Gleichungen der Elektrodynamik. Diese Analogie zeigt, daß die derzeitige lineare Versetzungstheorie unvollständig ist und durch konstitutive Gleichungen zwischen dynamischen und kinematischen Größen ergänzt werden muß. Die verallgemeinerte Elektrodynamik vonMie weist den Weg zu einer Lagrange-Dichte, die eine Funktion entweder der kinematischen oder der dynamischen Größen ist. Während die Spannungsfunktionen des Kontinuums im statischen Falle Reaktionskräfte sind, werden sie im Felde wandernder Versetzungen eingeprägte Kräfte, die über konstitutive Gleichungen mit den Versetzungsdichten verbunden sind.
