N-Isopropyl-, N,N-dimethyl- and N,N-diethyl-aminomethylpyridine-2 react with COII and NiII salts, depending upon the anionic ligands and reaction conditions, to form 1,3-, 1,2- and 1,1-complexes. The 1,3-complexes and most of the 1,2-chelates of NiII halides have octahedral structure. For some of the COII 1,2-complexes, however, coordination number 5 may be disscussed. 1,1-Cobalt(II) halide chelates have a distorted tetrahedral structure, whereas in the case of the corresponding nickel complexes higher coordination numbers than 4 may occur due to halide bridging.

N-Isopropyl-, N,N-Dimethyl- und N,N-Diäthyl-amino-methylpyridin-(2) bilden mit Kobalt(II)- und Nickel(II)-Salzen in Abhängigkeit von den anionischen Liganden und den Reaktionsbedingungen 1,3-; 1,2- und 1,1-Komplexe. Die 1,3-Komplexe und die meisten 1,2-Chelate der Nickelhalogenide besitzen eine oktaedrische Struktur. Dagegen ist für einige der Kobalt(II)-Komplexe vom 1,2-Typ die Koordinationszahl 5 zu diskutieren. Die 1,1-Chelate der Kobalt(II)-halogenide weisen eine verzerrt tetraedrische Struktur auf, während bei den entsprechenden Nickel(II)-Komplexen durch Bildung von Halogenobrücken höhere Koordinationszahlen als 4 auftreten können.
