Notes:
Summary The elimination rate of phenazone after a single oral dose has been studied before and after elective operations. In a group of patients with different illnesses the elimination rate was increased on the fourth to seventh days after operation but was unchanged on the second and third days. The change in elimination rate was highly significant in a standardized group of nine patients with a ligament injury in one knee studied on the fourth or fifth postoperative day. Possible reasons for the changes are discussed.
