The molecular spectra of symmetrical and unsymmetrical hexaphenyldigermanium-, -ditin- and -dilead-sulphides of the type (C6H5)3M—S—M′(C6H5)3 (M and M′ = Ge, Sn, Pb) are reported and the metal-sulfur vibration modes assigned. The bonding nature is discussed in connection with other similar organometal sulphides.

Die Molekülspektren von symmetrischen und unsymmetrischen Hexaphenyl-digermyl-, -distannyl- und -diplumbyl-sulfiden des Typs (C6H5)3M—S—′(C6H5)3 (M und M′ = Ge, Sn, Pb) werden mitgeteilt und die Metall - Schwefel-Valenzschwingungen zugeordnet. Im Zusammenhang mit früheren Untersuchungen an ähnlich gebauten Organometallsulfiden werden die Bindungsverhältnisse diskutiert.
