    Description / Table of Contents: Because of the too small self-conductivities of POCl3 and SOCl2, the electrolysis of both solvents was performed with the addition of the indifferent electrolyte [(C2H5)3NH]Cl.The electrolysis of POCl3 results in chlorine at the anode, the chlorine also remaining in solution because of its great solubility in POCl3, whereas polymeric phosphorus monoxide is deposited at the cathode.The electrolysis of SOCl2 results in chlorine at the anode the chlorine also remains in solution. The cathodic primary product SOCl is decomposed above 0 °C preponderantly according to 4 SOCl = 2 SO2 + S2Cl2 + Cl2, in the temperature range from -50 °C mainly according to 6 SOCl = S2O + SO2 + 3 SOCl2, and at -78 °C preponderantly according to 2 SOCl = SO + SOCl2.
    Notes: Die Elektrolyse beider Lösungsmittel wurde wegen der allzu geringen Eigen-Leitfähigkeiten unter Zusatz des indifferenten Elektrolyten [(C2H5)3NH]Cl durchgeführt.Die Elektrolyse von POCl3 liefert anodisch Chlor, das infolge seiner großen Löslichkeit in POCl3 gelöst bleibt, während an der Kathode polymeres Phosphormonoxyd abgeschieden wird.Bei der Elektrolyse von SOCl2 entsteht anodisch Chlor, das gleichfalls in SOCl2 gelöst bleibt. Das kathodische Primärprodukt SOCl zerfällt oberhalb 0 °C überwiegend nach: 4 SOCl = 2 SO2 + S2Cl2 + Cl2, im Temperaturgebiet von -50 °C bis 0 °C überwiegend nach: 6 SOCl = S2O + SO2 + 3 SOCl2 und bei -78 °C vorwiegend nach: 2 SOCl = SO + SOCl2.
