Description / Table of Contents: Zeisesalt, K(C2H4PtCl3), is hydrolyzed to ethylene, acetaldehyde, and traces of ethanol. The assumption that ethanol is an intermediate product being necessary for the formation of acetaldehyde has not been proved.

Notes: Es wurde gezeigt, daß bei der Reaktion von Zeise-Salz mit Wasser unter verschiedenen Bedingungen Äthylen, Acetaldehyd und Spuren von Äthanol entstehen. Die Annahme, daß Äthanol als Zwischenprodukt bei der Bildung von Acetaldehyd auftritt, konnte nicht belegt werden.
