The RAMAN and infrared spectra of the alkali salts of peroxodiphosphoric acid in solid state and in aqueous solutions are recorded. Applying the theory of molecular spectra on the ion P2O84-, all stretched structures can be excluded. The ion P2O84- has an angular structure and occures in trans-configuration with symmetry C2h or C1.

Die RAMAN- und Ultrarotspektren von Alkalisalzen der Peroxodiphosphorsäure werden im festen Zustand und in wäßriger Lösung aufgenommen. An Hand der Theorie der Molekülspektren, die auf das P2O8-Ion angewendet wird, lassen sich sämtliche gestreckten Strukturen ausschließen. Das P2O8-Ion ist gewinkelt gebaut und liegt in transForm mit Symmetrie C2h oder C1 vor.
