Description: En nuestro artículo proponemos una lectura comparada de dos novelas emblemáticas sobre la salsa como destino, como amor fati, como entrega, deriva, muerte y resurrección del cuerpo, de la carne hecha tambor. La rumba es magnificencia o no es. Nos internamos para ello en Los reyes del mambo tocan canciones de amor (1990) del cubano-norteamericano, Óscar Hijuelos y en Que viva la música (1977) de Andrés Caicedo.
