    Description: This is the first volume of an international scientific journal that is dedicated to issues of geoethics and geological culture. Its goal is to inform the Italian and international scientific communities about what emerged at the GeoItalia 2011 conference, attended by not only Italian geoscientists. At this conference, the geoscientists questioned their role in society and the responsibilities that they have to assume as scholars of the planet Earth and experts of the territory. They highlighted the need for rediscovery of the cultural values of geology as a science that can contribute to the construction of correct social knowledge, and the need to be aware that geoethics cannot exist without a real awareness among geoscientists of the cultural value of the Earth sciences.

    Description: In questo articolo descriviamo l’importanza dell’attività ludico-didattica e del linguaggio visivo per facilitare l’apprendimento ed in particolare l’esperienza della sede INGV di Porto Venere all’interno del Gruppo di Lavoro La Spezia Golfo della Scienza [Locritani et al., 2015], nell’ambito dello sviluppo di giochi scientifici. Il gruppo di lavoro ormai da dieci anni collabora nell’organizzazione di eventi di divulgazione con l’obiettivo di accrescere la conoscenza sulle grandi tematiche ambientali per la salvaguardia del Pianeta. Le premesse che sostengono questa strategia hanno radici profonde provenienti da motivazioni politiche, economiche e sociali che sono alla base dello Sviluppo Sostenibile. In ambito Europeo l’educazione allo Sviluppo Sostenibile richiede il coinvolgimento di tutta la popolazione, nonostante queste linee guida i sondaggi dell’Eurobarometro evidenziano un basso interesse nei confronti delle scienze. In questo contesto è importante evidenziare il ruolo della divulgazione scientifica e delle diverse metodologie da impiegare. Nella semplificazione dei concetti svolge un ruolo chiave l’immagine e l’utilizzo di essa nella realizzazione di giochi scientifico-didattici. Nei prossimi paragrafi verranno descritti: il contesto economico, politico e sociale che sostiene l’importanza della divulgazione scientifica; la funzione del linguaggio visivo nella comunicazione scientifica; il ruolo del gioco nell’apprendimento; l’esperienza dell’INGV di Porto Venere all’interno dell’ambito territoriale e scientifico in cui opera; le strategie usate nella fase di progettazione del gioco, i contenuti dei giochi e le modalità stabilite per il loro utilizzo.

    Description: Use of underground inland water for fisheries aims is improved all over the world. Tilapia is the first candidate for brackish water fish culture and an economic fish based on its biological characteristics. Tilapia was entered to Iran for the first time in November 2008. Bafq area at the center of Iran was licensed by Environment Organization, because of closed underground water resources of the area. Studies showed desired growth and adaptation of Nile tilapia in brackish water earth ponds and fiber glass tanks with high survival and low FCR. Limnological factors were suitable for tilapia culture. All male samples were made using certain doses of methyl testosterone in defined period. Optimum level of protein, fat and energy were determined for the best growth and food performance of cultured tilapia. Environmental program was presented to prevent environmental problems. However, studied shoed tilapia culture had not negative effects in the area. Economical performance of tilapia culture project was desirable. Tilapia was successfully introduced to some private fish farms in June 2011. Tilapia culture may improve in center of Iran after environmental surveys.

    Description: Artificial reefs are manmade materials deployed under water in order to improve invironment and increase the exploaitation of fishing area. Usage of artificial technic has developed due to increase of world pupolation and need to supply of protein, aim to restoring of natural spicialy rehabilitation of demersal fishes. It has effecte to increase the production in order sustainable exploitation. Coasts and Islands have destruction due to over harvesting from ecosystems and other activities by humans and natural, These caused many aquatic as demersal fishes has endangered in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea. The artificial reef is one way or method that can improve the environment and restore the aquatic. Iranian fisheries has established an artificial reefs area in west of Kish Island. This area has studied during one year, Data of assembeled fishes and physical sampling were collected in seasonal during spring, summer, autumn and winterd. Ther were tow tritment for sampling as artificial reefs site and a control site. Collected data has analyzed and evaluated by SPSS and Exel. The results showed that there was significant difference between the sites and assembled fishes in artificial reefs were more than control site. Consequently the artificial reefs can be a tool and technic to improve the marine environment and increase the production of fishes, especially the demersal fishes.

    Description: Variation of hydrochemical conditions, with special reference to adequacy of waters as fish habitats, was traced based on selected hydrochemical parameters obtained during the studies conducted from February 2013 till February 2014 year. The results were compared with earlier studies. The sources of organic pollution were identified, and the effect of biogenic substances on the biomass, as well as the self-purification capability of the river, were assessed. The total suspension exceeded the requirements for waters which are habitats of both salmonid and cyprinid fishes. Compared to the previous years, the load of organic and inorganic matter in the waters of Wiśniówka River increased; this may have resulted from external inflow, neighbourhood of the hatchery but also, to a small extent, from internal supply. The high availability of nitrogen-(NNH_4 + ; N-NO_2 - , N-NO_3 - ) and phosphorus-(total phosphorus; P-PO_4 ^3- ) based biogenic (substances favoured the biomass production, thus contributing to the increase in organic matter load in the river.

    Description: The aim of this research was to determine the concentration of cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) in the muscle and liver tissues of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Hamedan Province (west of Iran) cold water fish farms, and compare the results with the FAO/WHO guidelines. Heavy metal concentrations were determined from the three randomly selected fish farms by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) method. Concentration of heavy metals were detected to be high in rainbow trout during dry season. Concentration of Cd and Pb in the muscle and liver tissues were 3.67µg/kg and 12.82µg/kg, respectively. However concentrations of these two heavy metals were within the standard limits set and recommended by FAO/WHO, indicating that the rainbow trout meat raised from this region is safe for human consumption.

    Description: A comparative study was conducted on concentration of heavy metals Hg, Cd and Pb in the muscle, liver and gill tissues of Liza abu in winter 2009, in Karoon and Bahmanshir Rivers of Khuzestan province. We used 216 specimens of Liza abu. Metals were extracted from the tissues using wet digestion method and concentration of the heavy metals was measured by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The highest concentration of Cd, Hg and Pb were measured at 0.540±0.264, 0.029±0.005 and 1.080±0.128mg/Kg dry weight respectively. The lowest concentration of Cd, Hg and Pb were found to be 0.434±0.035, 0.024±0.001 and 0.930±0.036mg/Kg dry weight, respectively. No significant differences in concentration of heavy metals Cd, Hg and Pb in the muscle, liver and gill of Liza abu from the Karoon and Bahmanshir Rivers were detected (P 0.05). Results showed accumulation of Hg and Cd was lower than the FDA standard but accumulation of Pb was higher than the WHO standard.

    Description: Heavy metals are the major components in the composition of aquatic environment and living animals, but when the range of these metals change, severe increase or decrease, it can be harmful. In this study, the amount of six heavy metals was measured by cation exchange resin (chelex-100) in 1994-1995. The annual average of the heavy metals was : Fe (113.82), Cd (3.25), Pb (26.34), Ni ( 17.96), cu (21.95) and Zn (83.9) µg/lit In Compare with standard value, it shows that, amount of Cu and Pb in all season and Cd, Zn, Ni in spring and summer are in critical range. There is a significant correlation between concentration of heavy metals and physico-chemical factors such as temperature, pH and salinity.

    Description: In conformity with the sex determination of Gracilaria corticata in the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea, a total of 41 samples were collected from two stations of Bostaneh region (northern Persian Gulf, 54° 38´ E / 26° 30´ N) and Lipar regions (northern Oman Sea, 60° 49´ E / 25° 15´ N). The specimens were cultured in PES media for observing the different life stages. The anatomical structures of thallus were taken into consideration. The diploid tetrasporophytes and spermatangia in thallus of male’s gametophytes; and Carpospore and cystocarps of female were determined. Due to DNA extraction, the parasites and epiphytes were cleaned and then the under growing sections were sectioned using liquid nitrogen. After extraction of DNA, by using 20 different primers according to ISSR molecular indicator, the sex diversity and genetic diversity of populations were studied; and four primers were selected ultimately . The obtained results were analyzed by GenAlex and PopGen softwares. In total, 74 bands, all polymorphisms, were propagated. According to PIC index, polymorphism separation of primer C (0.33) was higher than other primers. The Marker Index was measured between 4.48 and 6.51 with mean Shannon’s index of 0.46. The genetic similarity amongst algae was 96%. The genetic diversity inter and intra populations had significant differences of which 83% of total diversity was related to the intra diversity and 17% was related to inter diversity populations. The highest genetic distance belonged to the specimens 5 (Bostaneh) and 35 (Lipar), and it indicated the inter populations diversity in addition to intra population. As an overall conclusion, these populations can be considered as broodstocks for hybrid production for further species breeding and also to attain the maximum heterosis in adaptation with environment. In Ward clustering analysis, the dendrograms showed 5 different clusters in genetic distance of 12.18 of isomorphic phases. The PCA analysis as a complementally method was used for attest the findings. In this research, the ISSR primers could determine the male and female gametophytes and diploid tetrasporophytes in which the primer A (bands of 1200 & 1700 bp) specific for diploid tetrasporophyte and band of 300 bp specific for male were produced. The primer C showed the bands of 820 & 900 bp for diploid tetrasporophyte, and 500 bp for female gametophyte. The primer AB (990 bp) for male, 520 bp for female and 1600 & 1900 bp for diploid tetrasporophyte were specified. The primer ABC showed the specific band of 1100 bp for male; 500 bp for female; and 1200 & 1500 bp for diploid tetrasporophytes.
