    Beschreibung: A trend can be observed whereby violently racist attitudes are shared by both extreme right-wing and reactionary bourgeois milieus and are becoming normalized in public discourse. This situation reflects what sociological research has attested for years: Civil societies are not necessarily progressive, democratic, and public welfare oriented. They can be reactionary, anti-democratic, and aggressively self-interested. With a view to this ""dark side of civil society,"" the study examines projects of human rights-oriented community work (GWA) designed specifically for such problem constellations. The study examines the conditions for success of socio-spatial processes of change towards a more democratic everyday culture through GWA and develops proposals for their conceptual further development.
    Beschreibung: Es lässt sich ein Trend verzeichnen, nachdem gewalttätig rassistische Haltungen sowohl von extrem rechten als auch reaktionär-bürgerlichen Milieus geteilt werden und sich im öffentlichen Diskurs normalisieren. Diese Situation spiegelt wider, was die soziologische Einstellungsforschung seit Jahren attestiert: Zivilgesellschaften sind nicht unbedingt progressiv, demokratisch und gemeinwohlorientiert. Sie können reaktionär, antidemokratisch und aggressiv eigenwohlorientiert sein. Mit Blick auf diese „dunkle Seite der Zivilgesellschaft“ untersucht die Arbeit speziell für solche Problemkonstellationen konzipierte Projekte einer menschenrechtsorientierten Gemeinwesenarbeit (GWA). Dabei untersucht die Arbeit Gelingensbedingungen für sozialräumliche Veränderungsprozesse zu mehr demokratischer Alltagskultur durch GWA und entwickelt Vorschläge für deren konzeptuelle Weiterentwicklung.

    Beschreibung: Out-of-home placement in institutionalised care and returning to the family system present young people and their families with major transformational challenges. This involves affiliations and demarcations, relative autonomy and relative dependence. Based on a qualitative research project, the author explores the question of how family members experience return processes and thereby continually create 'family/families'. She analyses the interactions between the actions, feelings and explanations of young people and parents in interaction with the activities of professional actors and the legally coded structures of child and youth welfare. The empirically and theoretically orientated work links important discussions of child and youth welfare research with current concepts of family research. In particular, a relational model of care in private responsibility and in structures of state child and youth welfare interventions is developed. In addition, suggestions for practice are provided.
    Beschreibung: Fremdunterbringung in stationären Erziehungshilfen und Rückkehr ins Familiensystem stellen Jugendliche und deren Familien vor gravierende Transformationsherausforderungen. Dabei geht es um Zugehörigkeiten und Abgrenzungen, relative Autonomie und relative Abhängigkeit. Die Autorin geht basierend auf einem qualitativen Forschungsprojekt der Frage nach, wie Familienmitglieder Rückkehrprozesse erleben und dabei ‚Familie(n)‘ laufend herstellen. Sie analysiert die Wechselwirkungen der Handlungen, Gefühle und Erklärungen von jungen Menschen und Eltern in Zusammenspiel mit den Aktivitäten der Fachakteur*innen sowie den rechtlich codierten Strukturen der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe. In der empirisch und theoretisch ausgerichteten Arbeit werden wichtige Diskussionen der Kinder- und Jugendhilfeforschung mit aktuellen Konzepten der Familienforschung verknüpft. Insbesondere wird ein relationales Modell zu Sorge/Care in privater Verantwortung und in Strukturen der Interventionen der staatlichen Kinder- und Jugendhilfe entwickelt. Darüber hinaus werden Anregungen für die Praxis zur Verfügung gestellt.

    Beschreibung: Schulische Übertritte sind seit einiger Zeit Gegenstand erziehungs- und bildungswissenschaftlicher Forschungsdiskurse. Gerade im mehrgliedrigen Schulsystem Österreichs zeigen sich an diesen Übergängen vielfältige Exklusionsmechanismen. In der vorliegenden Forschungsarbeit geht der Autor der Frage nach, welche Habitusformationen bei einem Übertritt von der Mittelschule in die gymnasiale Oberstufe rekonstruiert werden können und was die Ergebnisse für eine inklusive und ungleichheitsreflexive Schul- und Unterrichtsentwicklung leisten können. Hierfür führte der Autor eine qualitative Interviewstudie mit ehemaligen Mittelschüler*innen in Österreich, 12 Wochen nach ihrem Übertritt, durch.
    Beschreibung: School transitions have been the subject of research discourses in educational science for some time. Especially in Austria's multi-level school system, these transitions reveal a variety of exclusion mechanisms. In this research work the author explores the questions of which habitus formations can be reconstructed during a transition from secondary school to upper secondary school and what the results can contribute to an inclusive inequality-reflective school and teaching development. For this purpose, the author conducted a qualitative interview study with former secondary school students 12 weeks after their transfer.
