    Description: Ce livre renouvelle et acère la théorie critique par le féminisme. Il interroge la philosophie sociale de Theodor W. Adorno et propose de penser, au moyen des théories du care, la question de la fragilité sociale du souci des autres. Comment le geste moral émerge-t-il dans notre forme de vie capitaliste sous-tendue par une indifférence généralisée ? Quelles en sont les conditions sociales ? Son hypothèse est que le capitalisme compartimente l’attention à autrui, limite son possible développement en l’assignant aux femmes, dans des domaines et pour des tâches toujours spécifiques. Comment appréhender le contenu moral du care effectivement mis en actes, dès lors qu’il se révèle être le produit d’une distribution genrée des dispositions morales, celle-ci étant une condition de possibilité du marché ?

    Description: À l’heure où la Cour pénale internationale se voit critiquée par nombre de ses détracteurs, cet ouvrage propose une analyse de la judiciarisation internationale au prisme de l’un de ses initiateurs : Hans Kelsen. Le théoricien du normativisme a réfléchi sur le droit international, notamment lors de son exil aux États-Unis. Il ne cessera de promouvoir une Organisation des Nations unies dont le pivot serait une juridiction. Tout en permettant de mieux saisir la trajectoire intellectuelle du juriste viennois outre-Atlantique, les études rassemblées ici soulignent les tensions inhérentes à l’établissement des premiers tribunaux militaires après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, qu’elles concernent la reconnaissance d’un individu justiciable ou bien l’application du principe de non-rétroactivité. Fondé notamment sur la présentation et la traduction de textes consacrés à la responsabilité et à la poursuite des criminels de guerre, cet ouvrage rentre en résonance avec les dilemmes contemporains qui entourent l’établissement d’une justice pénale internationale.

    Description: This work asks questions on the relationship between innovative collective actors, such as the 'new social movements' and the political institutions of representative democracy starting from an underlying hypothesis: the idea that civil society is the main source of political legitimation of liberal democracy. More precisely, what this monograph reflects on is the capacity of the social movements to concretely test alternative forms of democracy. The aim of the contemporary movements is to augment the fundamental values of the "democratic revolution", namely the principles of freedom and equality. They constantly lead to conflict and social antagonism: indeed new conflicts and new antagonisms arise every time that the movements implement radical experiences of democracy in the multiple and different spheres of social life. Only by accepting and setting value by these alternative democratic practices and experiences – and this is the author of this work's thesis – may democratic ideals be revived in contemporary society.

Eppure a noi giunge chiara una duplicità: la violenza o è minimizzata per proporre un’immagine edulcorata e bonaria di coloro che la adoperano, oppure viene presa per sinonimo di criminalità.     Description: Les relations entre les intellectuels et le pouvoir constituent un enjeu majeur des sociétés arabes contemporaines. Cet ouvrage, qui fait remonter cette problématique au cœur de la société savante de l’époque arabe médiévale, actualise un débat des plus modernes en s’efforçant de montrer comment le progrès de la connaissance, le choix des mots, la transgression sont autant d’outils à disposition de l’homme de lettres à la cour pour défier l’autorité par ses seuls écrits, et partant, pour appeler à la réformer. Réputé ardu en raison de sa prose difficile d’accès, le Livre du plaisir partagé en amitié de Tawhīdī est souvent assimilé à une galerie de récits plaisants susceptibles d’édifier le public, à l’image de la vocation première des belles lettres arabes de l’époque médiévale. Cette étude vise en outre à montrer que le message de l’œuvre dépasse cette perspective pour plonger le lecteur au cœur d’une démarche qui tend à faire du savant le concurrent direct du gouvernant.
