    Description: Acta Slavica Estonica is an international series of publications on current issues of Russian and other Slavic languages, literatures and cultures. The first part of the book contains chapters about the general history of school textbooks for reading and the story of the heritage of two authors (Vyazemsky and Fet) in them. The second part of the book presents chapters on various Russian poets (Batyushkov, Zhukovsky, Pushkin, Koltsov, Tyutchev, Maikov) whose poems found a firm place in the reading materials for schools. The chapters of the monograph give an idea of different aspects of the history of these texts and their reception. The monograph has two supplements. In the first there is a list of 108 textbooks and books of reading which are all included in the unique data base accessible in the Internet (www.ruthenia.ru/canon). The second supplement offers a list of the most popular authors and their texts included in the textbooks of the 19th century.

    Description: While the analysis of humor, paradox, and deliberate deconstruction has generally occupied a marginal position in the study of Dostoevsky’s universe, it seems impossible to understand his poetics without pointed attention to these categories. The present book aims to fill the existing gap by focusing on the nature of ambivalent humor, paradoxicality, and methods of ‘de-automatizing’ consciousness through deconstruction, arguing that these are central elements in Dostoevsky’s creative arsenal. It is precisely the dialogical and paradoxical nature of his artistic method that enables such different and sometimes contradictory readings. Dostoevsky, who proclaimed «the excitement of compassion» as the secret of humor (in the ‘funny’ there is always sadness and even despair), more generally exposes in his writing the structural duality of all phenomena.

Аналитическая записка описывает подходы по наращиванию потен- циала, принятые Германской во- дной инициативой для Централь- ной Азии (“Берлинский процесс”), в частности: (1) краткосрочные про- фессиональные курсы, предлагае- мые исследовательским проектом ЦАВа; (2) региональная магистер- ская программа “Интегрированное управление водными ресурсами” реализуемая в Казахстанско-Не- мецком Университете в Алматы; (3) обучающий модуль по бассей- новому планированию, разрабо- танный в рамках программы GIZ “Трансграничное Управление во- дными ресурсами в Центральной Азии”. Эти подходы в основном на- правлены на развитие потенциала на индивидуальном уровне, но про- грамма GIZ по созданию бассейно- вых речных комиссий направленa также на развитие потенциала на институциональном уровне. Ключевыми факторами успеха стали региональные и транс-секторальные подходы, принятые всеми тремя программами, объединение науки и практики, и соответствие содержа- ния тренинга практическим потреб- ностям участников.

    Description: Studies in Syntactics. The purpose of this book is to explore the structure of the text as such using a metalanguage derived from quantitative poetics. Grigori Utgof’s thesis is that texts should be studied statistically. The main problems addressed in his research are the problem of successivity on the formal (syntactic) plane of artistic texts, and the problem of syntactic dissimilarity. Largely prompted by Yuri Tynianov’s famous statement – „The unity of the work is not a closed, symmetrical intactness, but an unfolding, dynamic integrity. Between its elements is not the static sign of equality and addition, but the dynamic sign of correlation and integration. The form of the literary work must be recognized as a dynamic phenomenon“ (The Problem of Verse Language; translated by Michael Sosa and Brent Harvey) – Grigori Utgof demonstrates the inherent nonidentity of the intratextual order, and proceeds to the problem of measuring some translated texts’ dissimilarities. In particular, his book is an inquiry into the structure of the following eight texts: Приглашение на казнь / Invitation to a Beheading by Vladimir Nabokov, and the novel’s Estonian translation Kutse tapalavale [Invitation to the Block] by Rein Saluri; “За гремучую доблесть грядущих веков...” by Osip Mandel’shtam, and two translations of this poem into English: “In the Name of the Higher Tribes of the Future” by Robert Lowell and “For the Sake of the Resonant Valor of Ages to Come…” by Vladimir Nabokov; “Облако в штанах” (“Cloud in Trousers”) by Vladimir Mayakovsky; “Ballada [Ballade]” by Czesław Miłosz in Natalya Gorbanevskaya’s translation (“Баллада”).

В основе смыслопорождения в герметичном поэтическом дискурсе лежат процессы подвижного семиозиса, в котором отношения стабильности между означающим и означаемым поставлены под вопрос, а сила тяжести перемещена на интерпретанту, и смысловой энтропии как интенсивного приращения смысла с невозможностью сформулировать его конечное состояние. В книге на материале текстов на немецком и русском языках рассматриваются разнообразные проявления поэтического герметизма в актуальной поэзии, а также семантико-синтаксические механизмы и прагматический потенциал смысловой неопределенности – от неуловимого намека и неразрешимой двусмысленности до нонсенса и тайнописи.

    Description: В эпоху корпусных исследований и создания цифровых информационных ресурсов, содержащих большие объемы текстов, применение количественных методов анализа языковых единиц становится неотъемлемой частью лингвистических описаний. В книге представлены результаты сопоставительного исследования коннекторов с использованием количественных методов анализа, выполненного в рамках совместного российско-швейцарского проекта «Контрастивное корпусное исследование коннекторов русского языка». Исследование коннекторов проводилось с использованием нового уникального лингвистического ресурса – Надкорпусной базы данных (НБД) коннекторов. В первой главе монографии описаны структура НБД и возможности, которые она дает лингвистам для применения количественных и контрастивных методов исследования. Во второй и третьей главе монографии представлены результаты применения этих методов для исследования коннекторов как показателей логико-семантических отношений сопутствования и переформулирования в русском и французском языках. В четвертой, заключительной, главе монографии количественные методы применены к анализу результатов машинного перевода, одного из перспективных направлений в области компьютерной лингвистики. A l’époque du développement de la linguistique de corpus, de l’élaboration de corpus de textes annotés qui contiennent un volume important de données, l’application des méthodes quantitatives d’analyse devient une partie inhérente de toute étude linguistique. Le livre contient les résultats de l’étude contrastive (russe-français) des connecteurs avec l’utilisation des méthodes quantitatives qui a été menée dans le cadre du projet de recherche conjoint (Suisse-Russie) soutenu par le FNS et par la Fondation pour la recherche fondamentale de la Fédération de Russie (RFBR). Les données statistiques pour l’étude contrastive des connecteurs ont été obtenus grâce à une nouvelle ressource informatique : une base de données des connecteurs qui contient des textes parallèles en russe et en français. Le premier chapitre décrit la base de données, ses fonctionnalités et les possibilités qu’elle offre aux linguistes pour l’analyse contrastive, qualitative et quantitative, des connecteurs. Le deuxième et le troisième chapitres présentent les résultats de l’application de ce type d’analyse des connecteurs russes et français en tant que marqueurs des relations discursives de concomitance et de reformulation. Dans le quatrième chapitre ces méthodes sont appliquées à l’analyse des résultats de traduction automatique, un domaine de recherche qui se trouve actuellement au centre des intérêts de la linguistique de corpus et de la linguistique computationnelle.
