    Description: In the German speaking world, questions concerning the voice or speaker of lyrical poems are often oversimplified through recourse to the disputed concept of “the lyrical I.” This volume addresses questions surrounding the expressive agent in lyric poems and thus contributes to the controversial debate about adequate forms for conceptualizing lyric poetry at the intersection between philological traditions and practices specific to lyric poetry.

    Description: Karina Zybina setzt sich in diesem Buch mit nahezu unbekannten kirchenmusikalischen Werken Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts auseinander: seinen Litanei-Vertonungen. In und für Salzburg geschrieben, zeigen sie eine auffällige Verwandtschaft mit Kompositionen seiner Zeitgenossen, insbesondere seines Vaters Leopold sowie Anton Cajetan Adlgassers und Johann Michael Haydns, die in konventionalisierten harmonisch-melodischen Formeln und einer standardisierten Struktur zum Ausdruck kommt. Doch weisen Mozarts Litaneien zugleich eine 'typisch mozartische‘ Tonsprache auf und zielen in manchen Belangen deutlich über lokale Gewohnheiten hinaus. Indem Salzburger Vertonungstraditionen Mozarts Ideenreichtum begegnen, wird anhand seiner Litaneien ein farbiges Bildnis der Gattung im Schaffen des berühmten Komponisten gezeichnet.

    Description: Be it angels, meteorites, or harps – there is a wealth of knowledge in the more than one-hundred publications that, by the mid-eighteenth century, had appeared in four languages under the name of Johann Jacob Wecker (1528–1586/88). Broad networks were created in order to collect and disseminate this knowledge. The practice of compilation formed the basis of this so far largely overlooked, successful production of books.

    Description: What are the connections between space, control and world view? The author answers this question using the concept of cognitive mapping, which he presents and discusses as a theoretical concept of social analysis and as an empirical means of research. Surveillance - so his thesis - makes the examination and control of worldviews possible and thus becomes a form of social orientation. At the same time, worldviews also provide a basis for understanding attitudes towards surveillance measures. Surveillance in this sense is not a product of modernity, but occurs in all historical epochs and serves the organization of reality. Space and spatial notions of the world are shaped by the environment and the experiences people have in it. Socio-spatial conceptions are the origin of discourses of surveillance and are in turn influenced by forms of control. Worldviews can be used to trace attitudes and surveillance and the orientation patterns behind them. This book deals with these interrelations using the concept of cognitive mapping. This concept analyses causes and effects and explains how they play an important role in processes of social exclusion/integration or the possibilities of identity formation.

    Description: Die Digitalisierung unserer Lebenswelten ist allgegenwärtig und ermöglicht die Überwachung unseres Alltages in bisher ungekannten Formen. Warum aber gibt es dagegen so wenig Widerstand, obwohl Datenschützer immerzu warnen und Whistleblower wie Edward Snowden das ganze Ausmaß der Massenüberwachung öffentlich machen? Nils Zurawski konstatiert, dass solche Fragen am Phänomen selbst vorbeigehen, wenn sie nicht die Bedeutung des Konsums als elementares gesellschaftliches Element ernst nehmen. Er zeigt, welche symbolische Kraft Technologien haben und wieso Digitalisierung zu einer Re-Feudalisierung von Lebenswelten führt. In dieser Perspektive wird Überwachung zu einem Teil des Konsums und wirkt identitätsstiftend. Das Buch stellt Alternativen für andere Wege bereit, mit Digitalisierung umzugehen, und neue Möglichkeiten, Überwachung zu diskutieren.

    Description: For human-robot-interaction, this work proposes a method for monitoring the complex, dynamic environment of the robot. The robot motion is controlled based on the concept of nonlinear model predictive control. The controller considers the detected obstacles and intended or unintended contacts of the robot with its environment so that undesired collisions are avoided and an adequate reaction to contacts is achieved. The proposed approaches are analyzed on a mobile manipulator.
