    Description: A partir del regreso definitivo de Juan D. Perón a la Argentina, el 20 de junio de 1973, el nivel de violencia política y represión fue progresivamente en aumento hasta alcanzar niveles inéditos en los meses cercanos al golpe de Estado de 1976. Esta investigación se aboca al estudio de ese proceso destinado a “depurar” la “infiltración” marxista en el interior del Movimiento Peronista. Para ello, realiza un acercamiento al problema desde un estudio de caso local. Se trata del abogado y militante peronista José Antonio Pastor Deleroni, que en la actualidad es considerado, oficialmente, la primera víctima de la Triple A en el ex partido de General Sarmiento (provincia de Buenos Aires). Tito Deleroni fue asesinado junto con su esposa, Nélida Arana, el 27 de noviembre de 1973. Este doble crimen fue señalado para dar cuenta del clima previo al golpe de Estado: la existencia a nivel local de una fuerte activación política y la acción represiva ejercida contra ella desde los sectores más reaccionarios del peronismo.

    Description: Mito: relato explicativo, simbólico y dinámico, de uno o varios acontecimientos extraordinarios personales con referente trascendente, que carece en principio de testimonio histórico, se compone de una serie de elementos invariantes reducibles a temas y sometidos a crisis, que presenta un carácter conflictivo, emotivo, funcional, ritual y remite siempre a una cosmogonía o a una escatología absolutas, particulares o universales. Esta definición, general, fría e indeterminada, requiere un tiempo, un espacio, y sobre todo una conciencia que la viva. El mito no es un constructo mental ajeno a las vicisitudes socioculturales: lleva marcada en su piel y sus entrañas la huella de cada individuo y sociedad que lo vio nacer; pero también sabe adaptarse a las condiciones del nuevo tiempo que lo acoge. Mitos de hoy narra esa tensión del mito por mantenerse vivo en el terreno, aparentemente inhóspito, de un mundo desengañado. La Mitocrítica Cultural, aquí puesta en práctica, combina las herramientas tradicionales de la mitocrítica con factores no considerados sistemáticamente por la crítica precedente: la globalización, la inmanencia y el consumismo. Ofrece así una modesta contribución a la tarea de identificar, analizar y sintetizar la tipología de las manifestaciones del mito en la literatura, las artes y los medios de comunicación contemporáneos. Similarly, representation triggers transitions in the prefiguration and communication of design, the anticipation and foreshadowing of future events.The challenges posed by the digital pose open questions whose scope can only be glimpsed, such as the relationship between drawing and the act of modelling, and the construction of new paradigms of visual language and communication. ‘Transitions’, almost implicitly, points to possible futures, the evolution of technique and the search for new modes of expression; at the same time, however, it can suggest silences and reflections in a process of connection between history, theory, criticism and construction.

    Description: En las sociedades de la modernidad, las “fronteras” se convierten en marcas o limes que determinan ámbitos o zonas de contacto que, de alguna manera, han servido para crear y recrear marcos generales de diferenciación y de posibles comparaciones a partir de sus componentes sociales, económicos, culturales, políticos, religiosos, etc., distinguiendo así, ambos márgenes. Hablamos por ello de “fronteras” en plural, distintas y cambiantes, pero con un punto común, esto es la idea de un límite o linde que puede ser extenso, dilatado, poroso o difuminado. Al mismo tiempo, en muchos casos estas “fronteras” no se muestran en sí como separadoras. Por el contrario, constituyen la basa que ha permitido la aparición de determinados procesos de permeabilidad y percolación que provocan un importante efecto de convergencia siendo así también zonas o espacios de encuentro, contacto e intercambio. En este sentido, el reto de la presente compilación de trabajos es el de pensar las fronteras dentro de unas monarquías hispano lusitanas agregativas. Las innumerables formas de abordaje, aspectos y dinámicas que confluyen en pensar las “fronteras” en el Mundo Atlántico fundan un aliciente más para este encuentro de miradas que resume, en gran medida, el espíritu propio del proyecto de la Red inter-universitaria de Historia del Mundo Ibérico del Antiguo Régimen a las Independencias.

Actualmente conduce el Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Lingüísticas y la Maestría en Lingüística. Su labor le ha permitido consolidar vínculos académicos y personales tanto nacionales como internacionales, que se plasman en esta compilación a través de una serie de trabajos de lingüistas pertenecientes a distintas perspectivas teóricas y espacios geográficos que comparten su interés por el funcionamiento del lenguaje.     Description: Este libro resulta de una inquietud compartida por once colegas activos en ocho países, a ambos lados del Atlántico:mostrar la interconexión múltiple de diversos tópicos de la relación América Latina – el Caribe – Europa en una obra editorial de divulgación internacional.El comercio, la ciencia y la técnica posibilitan esta interconexión. De hecho, este conjunto de artículos atinge lo que Horst Pietschmann designacomo «un amplio proyecto, subdividido en distintos proyectos parciales» cuando analiza la historia atlántica. Entre las fuentes que respaldan la amplia temática presentada aparecen analizados documentos de archivo, epistolarios, hemerografía y bibliografía junto a memorias, pinturas, fotografías, genealogías, obras civiles, postales y lápidas de cementerios.     Description: El volumen colectivo Represión estatal y violencia paraestatal en la historia reciente argentina: nuevos abordajes a 40 años del golpe de Estado es resultado de un extenso trabajo realizado en el seno de la Red de Estudios sobre Represión y Violencia Política (RER), que nuclea desde 2014 a investigadores que se encuentran produciendo y debatiendo sobre tales temáticas. El libro tiene como objetivo central sistematizarlos principales aportes y líneas de renovación en los estudios sobre la represión, ofreciendo un panorama sintético y analítico sobre las formas, dispositivos y efectos de la represión previa y posterior al golpe de Estado. Para ello se convocó a un conjunto de investigadores/as especialistas en dichas temáticas con diversas trayectorias, quienes desarrollan sus investigaciones en distintas universidades nacionales o en el CONICET y forman parte de la RER, y han producido renovados estudios e interpretaciones sobre la problemática. El libro está dividido en tres partes, que tratan los ejes principales por los que discurre la producción académica sobre la represión en la historia reciente en nuestro país.En la primera parte se aborda un conjunto de problemas y temas referidos a los orígenes, las condiciones de posibilidad y el ejercicio de la represión en los años previos al golpe de Estado, poniendo el foco en la cuestión de las continuidades y rupturas en las formas de represión, la excepcionalidad y la normalidad de la última dictadura, yla inscripción del terror de Estado en las formas de represión social y política durante el siglo XX. La segunda parte agrupa una serie de trabajos que analizan, en una temporalidad fluida entre los años 50 y 80, un conjunto de prácticas, dispositivos y discursos represivos y sus efectos sociales e individuales, así como algunas agencias e instituciones estatales en contextos de represión (los exilios, la cárcel, los consejos de guerra militares, la represión a los trabajadores, a los judíos y los niños apropiados, el Poder Judicial). La tercera parte se centra directamente en el accionar represivo durante la última dictadura militar, focalizando en un problema central: el de las escalas de análisis. Así, se incluye un conjunto de estudios a escala local/regional (Rosario, Bahía Blanca, Norpatagonia, Santa Fe) y trasnacional/nacional (la coordinación represiva en el Cono Sur).

The Symposium was consecrated to the bimillennial celebration of Augustus’ death, and proposed discussions about cultural dialogues between Greece and Rome under Augustan ideology. How do rhetoric, philosophy, literature and history engage in such dialogues and in such controversial ideology? The papers in this book highlight aspects of that discussion, and are divided into three sections: Section I contemplates philosophy, rhetoric and politics, particularly in the relationship between young Octavian and Cicero; Section II contemplates Augustan literature (Horace, Virgil, Tibullus and Ovid); finally, Section III approaches history and Greek comedy through Plutarch.

    Description: Esta publicación presenta siete investigaciones sobre los procesos de sometimiento e incorporación de los pueblos originarios de las regiones patagónica, pampeana y chaqueña por parte del Estado argentino. Los autores discuten sobre conceptos centrales como los de genocidio, terrorismo y violencia de Estado. No obstante, abordan al mismo tiempo la participación de la sociedad civil en la concentración, la deportación y la distribución de indígenas, así como la acción de los mismos pueblos originarios en dichos procesos. En este último sentido, el carácter etnográfico de las investigaciones posibilita la recuperación de la memoria social silenciada en las narrativas nacionalistas y da entidad individual al proceso histórico.

    Description: El libro comienza su introducción con un trabajo de Juan Marchena quien indaga en larga duración las repercusiones que tuvieron los conflictos hispanolusitanos de la península en el plano americano, desde el Amazonas hasta el Río de la Plata. Así, este trabajo permite adentrarnos en el otro plano del libro que analiza la guerra en la frontera; en primer lugar hacia el sur rioplatense y luego, en un segundo bloque, se traslada el análisis hacia la frontera norte de la región platina. El trabajo ubica al área rioplatense como parte constitutiva de una extensa área de frontera hispanolusitana e indígena. En lo que respecta a las relaciones hispanolusitanas en el área rioplatense observa que la misma fue un espacio de constantes intercambios entre españoles y portugueses. Luego del Tratado de Tordesillas el área rioplatense quedó definitivamente signada como una región de frontera. La imposibilidad de establecer una longitud terrestre y señalar exactamente el lugar donde pasaba la línea imaginaria de Tordesillas dejó definitivamente establecida la región como área de frontera entre las coronas peninsulares. En esta región las relaciones entre súbditos de ambas coronas se dio de forma demasiado particular. Estos individuos percibían la realidad de frontera como lo cotidiano, muy alejado de las perspectivas geopolíticas de las respectivas coronas. Siguiendo con la idea de permeabilidad de la frontera, un tercer plano del trabajo se aboca a las fronteras en movimiento, entendiendo a la frontera como ese lugar permeable abierto en el que interactúan todas las sociedades: la hispanocriolla, la portuguesa y la indígena, generando dentro de este mundo un complejo mosaico étnico en donde las coronas peninsulares tuvieron que idear diferentes modelos de control y organización. Por último, el bloque sobre historiografía, memoria e identidad cierra el libro dejando abierto el debate en la temática planteada.

    Description: Esta obra aborda los procesos de cambio institucional en España e Hispanoamérica durante los años que fueron desde la guerra de los Siete Años hasta la formación de los estados nacionales. Para mantener el hilo de esta historia global, dichos procesos se analizan a través del prisma de la historia de las finanzas, examinando los problemas fiscales en su interdependencia con transformaciones económicas, sociales y culturales más amplias. Resultado de dos proyectos del programa ECOS que reunieron a especialistas argentinos, franceses y mexicanos, así como a colegas de Alemania, España e Italia invitados a distintos encuentros, el libro ha intentado situarse en diferentes escalas de observación: la de la Monarquía, que negocia y reforma los mecanismos de acceso y de circulación de recursos, transformando así sus propios equilibrios políticos; o, en el otro extremo, la de las arenas locales, donde la cooperación y el conflicto de sus actores producían reconfiguraciones institucionales y territoriales; o aun el ámbito de los dispositivos que atravesaban las diferentes escalas —los derechos de propiedad, los cuerpos y las articulaciones comunitarias, o las dimensiones fiscales de la ciudadanía— cuyas evoluciones acompasaban el tránsito del Antiguo Régimen al orden republicano.

    Description: Memorias del BIM: biografías es un libro hecho de testimonios, de recuerdos, que intenta recuperar las vidas y las historias de las víctimas asesinadas y desaparecidas por la Fuerza de Tareas N.o 5, dependiente de la Armada, en nuestra región. Vidas e historias que se han podido recuperar parcialmente gracias a un arduo trabajo de memoria realizado por parte de los sobrevivientes, familiares, amigos y colectivos sociales, académicos y políticos comprometidos con la defensa de los derechos humanos y los reclamos de Memoria, Verdad y Justicia. Esta segunda edición integra sesenta y ocho nuevos casos a los ya trabajados en la primera (2015), lo que suma un total de ciento veinte biografías que, al ser leídas en una sucesión, cobran espesor colectivo y permiten conocer las múltiples dimensiones que nutrieron las tramas colectivas sobre las que se montó la participación de estos hombres y mujeres. En el espacio de estas páginas, esas luchas vuelven a cobrar la relevancia histórica y política que tuvieron; y a través de ellas nos acercamos al clima social y cultural de toda una época.

Em sua amplitude, são abordados diferentes temas, alguns sob a forma de narrativas destinadas à difusão de assuntos culturais da área médica; outros, por sua vez, expõem o posicionamento do autor a partir de uma análise cuidadosa, como em “O Símbolo da Medicina”, “O Juramento de Hipócrates”, “Curar Algumas Vezes, Aliviar Quase Sempre, Consolar Sempre”, e “Que Relação Tem Júlio César com a Operação Cesariana?”. O poder de crendices é mostrado em textos como “Úlcera Péptica e a Ilusão do Conhecimento”, “O Ato Médico através da História” e “Modismos na História da Medicina”. O título escolhido para obra tem forte relação com o tema proposto, pois, segundo a tradição, foi embaixo de um plátano, na ilha grega de Cós, que Hipócrates ensinou a seus discípulos os preceitos da medicina.

    Description: Esta obra se ocupa de una generación y de una corriente particular del universo cultural judío de la Mitteleuropa: una generación de intelectuales nacidos en el curso del último cuarto del siglo XIX, cuyos escritos beben al mismo tiempo de fuentes alemanas (romanticismo) y judías (mesianismo). Se articula en torno a la idea judía (cabalística) de Tikkoun, la redención. Algunos de ellos estuvieron orientados hacia la religión: Martín Buber, Gershom Scholem, Franz Rosenzweig. Otros, por el contrario, se sintieron atraídos por las utopías sociales: Ernst Bloch. Gyorgy Lukács, Erich Fromm. Entre ambos, más allá de todas las corrientes y en el cruce de todos los caminos: Franz Kafka y Walter Benjamín. A pesar de todas sus diferencias, hay entre ellos una impresionante comunidad espiritual, fundada sobre la afinidad electiva entre la redención mesiánica y la utopía libertaria.

    Description: La ausencia de una obra dedicada al estudio de los lugares de memoria de la identidad nacional española durante el franquismo constituía una laguna importante de la historiografía española que este volumen intenta completar. Se pretende aquí, por un lado, abordar el estudio del nacionalismo español durante el franquismo a la luz de la dimensión cultural y simbólica de la política, contribuyendo así a un mejor conocimiento de la evolución del discurso y de las prácticas nacionalistas a lo largo de las diferentes etapas por las que pasó el régimen, más allá de las aproximaciones puntuales o excesivamente generales. Por otro lado, y en consecuencia, se propone en este libro una perspectiva interpretativa de la nacionalización franquista que otorgue un mayor protagonismo a las prácticas culturales, simbólicas y visuales, contemplándolas en su interacción con otras identidades colectivas.

    Description: Arquitectura Tradicional Portuguesa, de Ernesto Veiga de Oliveira e Fernando Galhano, reúne pela primeira vez um número considerável de pequenas monografias sobre a habitado regional, dispersas por várias revistas por vezes de difícil consulta, enquadrando-as por um texto estruturante que as inscreve no plano geral da arquitectura regional do País. Desse quadro global destacam-se duas categorias básicas: a casa de rés-do-chão e andar, e a casa terrea, corresponden­tes a outras tantas áreas geográficas fundamentais, Norte e Sul. A casa urbana apresenta-se também sob duas formas prin­cipais: a casa burguesa e mesteiral, vertical, esguia e alta, de função híbrida de residência-loja; e o palácio, de fachada larga, rés-do-chão e andar nobre, que repete em versáo citadina o solar rural. Em muitos casos essa arquitectura ficava á margem do conforto e concepção racional da orgânica doméstica; era um prolongamento da lavoura, em que esta importava mais do que as próprias pessoas. Porém, muitos aspectos e ele­mentos dessa velha arquitectura constituíam soluções ajustadas, que poderiam adaptar-se, com plena razão funcional e estética, a novos conceitos habitacionais.

    Description: En este libro no se pretende hacer un balance de aportaciones recientes, sino que, teniendo como eje de desarrollo el concepto de “familia” en un amplio sentido, demográfico y social, se intenta integrar las perspectivas micro-analíticas –estudio de familias específicamente desarrolladas a ambos lados del Atlántico, familias virreinales, de la nobleza, la administración e incluso la Iglesia- y las regionales –de territorios especialmente afectados por el paso de sus habitantes a América-, al lado de la dimensión “macro” derivada de los estudios de las estructuras familiares en América y en la Península Ibérica y de las migraciones entre ambos espacios. Ese enfoque múltiple es el fundamento mismo de la comparación y de la complementariedad: un conjunto de lecturas diversas respecto a las teorías generalizadoras, la aplicación de métodos distintos y a las aportaciones y problemas de las fuentes documentales diferentes son esenciales en esta monografía; un eje que se refiere a cómo el modelo familiar castellano se impuso por medio de la legislación en América durante la colonización y, más allá, cómo se integró en las sociedades autóctonas y acabó mezclándose con los modelos locales; finalmente un eje dedicado a las migraciones y el paso a América como nexo entre las familias de ambos lados.

In fact, the disciplines of drawing have always been confronted with themes and issues relating to transitions from one condition to another. The history of representation tells us of transformations, even epochal ones, relating to ‘drawing’, with all that such transitions entail: suffice it to think of the evolution of forms of representation, of instrumental apparatuses, of the mutability of supports, of the analogical-digital transition underway, of the new modes of communication on platforms, of the hypertrophic offer of images also on the net that confirms Guy Debord’s intuitions relating to the new spectacularisation of society. Similarly, representation triggers transitions in the prefiguration and communication of design, the anticipation and foreshadowing of future events.The challenges posed by the digital pose open questions whose scope can only be glimpsed, such as the relationship between drawing and the act of modelling, and the construction of new paradigms of visual language and communication. ‘Transitions’, almost implicitly, points to possible futures, the evolution of technique and the search for new modes of expression; at the same time, however, it can suggest silences and reflections in a process of connection between history, theory, criticism and construction.

São estas o objecto dos Aparelhos de elevar a água de rega, que os autores dividem em três grupos fundamentais segundo a força motriz que os faz funcionar - os agentes naturais (vento e água), os animais e o homem -, subdividindo-os ainda segundo critérios morfológicos, questionando as suas origens e estabelecendo a sua distribuição no território nacional.     Description: En el siglo XVI, la Península Ibérica no quedó al margen del gran debate teológico que sacudía Europa. En España y Portugal se leían, comentaban y discutían los escritos de la Reforma. Su recepción no fue una mera aceptación pasiva de ideas extranjeras, sino el fruto de una interacción con planteamientos espirituales autóctonos que no puede ser reducida a la polarización entre católicos y protestantes. Las redes de creyentes evolucionaron al mismo tiempo que las doctrinas reformadas y que las estrategias de contención desarrolladas por los reyes y la Inquisición.     Description: Quando, após a conquista de Ceuta, D. João I reúne o seu conselho e decide manter a cidade, há a clara noção de que a tarefa não se tinha por fácil. De facto, a natureza geográfica de Ceuta fazia adivinhar que quem ficasse a tomar conta desta detinha um cargo cuja essência pouco tinha a ver com a do tradicional fronteiro, e cujo perigo era real e permanente. Não é portanto de estranhar que quando D. João e conselheiros discutem quem ficará a reger a cidade e sugerem nomes, os indivíduos propostos vão, educadamente, recusando o cargo, apresentando motivos que não lhes permitem aceitá-lo. É fácil imaginar o rei, no mínimo, incomodado, quando, através da intercessão do Infante D. Duarte, de D. Lopo Dias de Sousa, Mestre de Cristo e de D. Álvaro Gonçalves Camelo, Prior do Hospital, D. Pedro de Meneses se disponibiliza para o cargo. E a verdade é que o rei, por falta de opções, pelas recomendações dos três, ou por reconhecer capacidades em D. Pedro, o aceita e nomeia como capitão e regedor da cidade. Revelar-se-ia uma boa escolha.

    Description: O estudo das concepções dos professores tem sido considerado um campo de investigação muito fecundo, se bem que ainda relativamente pouco explorado, para a compreensão da sua acção no contexto escolar. O presente trabalho procurou investigar a(s) forma(s) como os professores de História em exercício de funções no Alentejo concebem a disciplina que leccionam e as suas preocupações relativamente ao seu ensino. Foi utilizado um questionário que visava conhecer a adesão dos professores a diferentes concepções de História e do seu ensino. De uma forma geral, estes professores evidenciaram seis concepções distintas de História, que se designaram como a) ciência positiva, b) não ciência, c) conhecimento relativo, d) ciência global, e) ciência social e ciência da temporalidade, às quais aderiram de forma desigual. Por outro lado, estes docentes manifestaram também preocupações com o ensino da História que se agruparam, igualmente, em seis conjuntos que se denominaram a) preocupações com as competências dos alunos, b) preocupações com as vivências e contextos dos alunos, c) preocupações com a neutralidade do professor, d) preocupações de tipo tradicionalista, e) preocupações com a educação para a cidadania e f) preocupações instrumentais. Os diferentes procedimentos estatísticos utilizados permitiram detectar algumas diferenças estatisticamente significativas, nomeadamente tendo em conta aspectos do percurso pessoal e profissional destes professores. O estudo permitiu ainda apurar alguns indicadores da forma como, em situação de sala de aula, os professores escolhem documentos e materiais de apoio e como perspectivam quer a sua acção quer a dos seus alunos.

    Description: Em Junho de 2000, na Universidade de Évora, teve lugar um colóquio cujo objectivo foi a discussão dos problemas metodológicos em torno do estudo das élites e das redes clientelares na época medieval. O que este volume apresenta sao as comunicacóes que, então, estiveram na base dos debates, afinal o ponto essencial desse encontró. Como todos os que estiveram presentes podem testemunhar, é justo dizer que os discussóes foram sempre interessantes e, por vezes, bastante animadas. Se não é possivel fazer aqui reflectir totalmente o espirito e o ambiente desse encontro, a apresentação das comunicações é, por si só, suficientemente interessante para justificar a sua publicação. O coloquio tinha por base o Projecto PRAXIS XXI Elites e redes clientelares na Idade Media. Uma observação centrada em Évora, e o leitor fica prevenido que ele terá urna segunda parte, que incluirá a apresentação de resultados, deste e de outros projectos e trabalhos. Se nos textos é já compreensível que estas élites medievais representavam urna oligarquía, escapam-nos ainda parte das suas ligacões e das suas rivalidades; das formas de expressão e de dominação política que vão construindo, a nivel local ou nacional, bem como a coerência do seu discurso, ou discursos, de poder. Porque é no plural que estas elites deverão ser observadas e entendidas. Julgamos, por isso, que nunca será demais insistir no carácter multifacetado das élites medievais.

    Description: Durante mucho tiempo se han considerado como un hito esencial en la historia del imperio hispanoamericano la muerte del último Habsburgo a finales del siglo xviii y la llegada al trono de los Borbones a inicios de la centuria siguiente. Como ya, en no pocos aspectos, la realidad de las provincias americanas se estaba autonomizando de los procesos de la Península, ese cambio sucedió para ellas en un contexto de dinámicas propias y de evoluciones a veces notables aunque en general mal conocidas, con las que tuvo que contar el gobierno español cuando inició las primeras reformas que prefiguraban las de la segunda mitad del siglo. Los estudios aquí reunidos tratan de esas temáticas en una perspectiva comparativa en la que resaltan las semejanzas y los procesos de diferenciación de los dos virreinatos.

Así califica Claudio Linati, en su libro Costumes Civils, Militaires et Religieux du Mexique, la organización del ejército a cinco años del nacimiento de México, como país independiente. Esa observación autoriza preguntar sobre el papel que jugó francés" -hombres, ideas, mercancías y capitales- en la modernización del país, y a indagar su contribución en el tránsito de la sociedad novohispana a la nacional. Fruto de dos coloquios del provecto "México Francia", esté libro reúne veinticinco estudios, articulados en cinco ejes analíticos (El inmigrante: imagen y realidad; De lo privado a lo público; La República de las letras; El medio de la Medicina; y Élites, familias e individuos), donde historiadores mexicanos y franceses abordan esa problemática. Además de utilizar la perspectiva mundializadora y la reflexión sobre las sensibilidades, ellos ponen a prueba una escala pequeña de análisis, la historia de vida, cuyos alcances cuestionan la historia tradicional que excluye la participación de actores extranjeros en la construcción de la nación.
