    Description: Hvordan utforskes naturen som gave i nordisk litteratur? I antropocen, menneskets tidsalder, blir spørsmålet om menneskets forhold til naturen aktualisert på nytt. Nettopp i en krisetid aktiveres religiøse forestillinger om apokalypse og skapelse, ånd og natur, og en rekke skjønnlitterære forfattere skriver frem naturskildringer preget av en grunnleggende ambivalens. I denne antologien finner du tolv bidrag som undersøker hvordan den nordiske litteraturen utforsker naturen som gave – og som kilde til ambivalens, nåde og skyld. Med et postsekulært utgangspunkt inviterer antologien forskere fra litteraturstudier og teologi til å undersøke ambivalente naturfremstillinger i den nordiske litteraturen. Hva er det mennesket gjør med den naturen vi lenge tenkte vi kunne ta for gitt – men som nå er truet? Og hva gjør klimaendringer og naturtap igjen med vår oppfatning av mennesker og menneskelige relasjoner – også til det mer-enn-menneskelige?     Description: During the 1920s and 1930s the wordless novel – stories told in black-and-white wordless woodcuts – was established as a narrative genre. The genre was most popular in Germany, but was as well known in other parts of Europé and in the US. The wordless novel was characterized by the absence of words, the use of woodcut and other relief printing techniques, as well as themes of social critique and serious existential issues. The purpose of the book is to - through the wordless novels of the 1920s and 30s - explain the uniqueness of the wordless narrative and thus the autonomous narrative possibilities of the image. The method of the examination is a close reading of the German artist Otto Nückel's wordless novel Schicksal (Destiny 1926). A comparative material consists of the Czech artist Helena Bochořáková-Dittrichova's wordless novel Z Mého Dětství (From My Childhood, 1929). Wordlessness is studied through the image's characteristics as an intermediary of messages and narratives and through comparisons with other expressions - the silent film, cirkus, expressionist dance and visual art, as well as medieval woodcuts. Narratives – which are usually put together by verbal communication – are in this project a tool for seeing: the image sequences or the image groups that ""replace"" the words - not as a lack or implied meaning of words, but as a personal visual story.

Universities must become better at allowing and encouraging students to develop independence of thought and action through self-formation, bildung, and personal growth rather than merely preparing them for a specific job, the books says, using a historical perspective to consider these issues.

    Description: "Cleaning is central to all societies. It is an experience shared by almost everyone. A clean home is related to both respectability and status. The mere execution of the deed – whether it concerns taking care of other peoples’ dirt or ones’ own – ranks, however, strikingly low, contaminating everyone who has to perform it. Therefore, cleaning is permeated by hierarchies of for instance gender, class, sexuality and race. Even though cleaning activates several existential and politically burning questions, it is surprisingly non-existing in research. The point of departure for this study is anthropological, and the material is a number of interviews with Swedes of today about their habits and experiences of cleaning. In focus are questions of cleaning as a cultural symbol, a bodily practice, temporality, and as an expression of taking care of decay. By investigating the meaning of what cleaning means to people – how it is experienced, organized, and distributed in everyday life – I want to discuss how such a central part of our existence is regarded as something that lacks value."

    Description: "From an international standpoint, the docent position in Norway is unique, insomuch as it is a top academic position equivalent to a professorship. This book combines a thorough examination of the docent’s role and place within the higher educational system with a presentation of a development project to move associate professors up the career ladder to the docent level at the University of Agder (UiA). The first part of the book looks at the Norwegian docent in historical, current and R&D theoretical perspectives. In the second part, six docents relate their own paths to qualification for the position. Part 3 presents the rationale behind the UiA project and how it was executed and subsequently evaluated. The final part of the book analyzes the docent’s current and future challenges. Criteria for promotion and expert committee rulings are among the topics discussed. Å satse på dosenter can be read as a practical introduction for docents on how to manage a promotion seminar, but it can also be read as a contribution to the discussion on how to improve research, teaching and communication at universities and colleges. The book will be of particular interest to docents and candidates for the docent position, members of expert committees and administrators at various levels within higher educational institutions. As a contribution to the debate on higher education’s need for different profiled positions, the book is relevant for a broader audience of researchers, politicians and public servants in Norway and the other Scandinavian countries.     Description: "How do you really become a skilled teacher? And what role should guidance play in the education of tomorrow's teachers? This theme is explored through a study of experienced practitioners' formalized counseling conversations with teacher students. The most important questions in the book are about how the practice teacher and teacher conduct conversations. Concretely, the question is: What is the content of the counseling interviews? How are the teacher students evaluated? How is the consequences of the counseling discussions understood? The guide being examined contains a step by step pedagogy. First, the teacher's student must learn to control, master and reflect on the social space both the classroom and the counseling conversation are. This is described as an overall moral and regulatory discourse. This discourse forms the basis for the teacher's next step - which is the actual teaching. The teacher's student must therefore master two discourses - one regulatory discourse and one teaching discourse - in order to become a skilled teacher. In addition, he or she must adapt to the regulatory discourse in the counseling conversation. The latter discourse represents in this book an initiation ritual for the teaching profession. This ritual gives the practice teacher control over the dedication, while limiting the room for maneuver in the counseling conversation. "
    Description: "Hvordan blir man egentlig en dyktig lærer? Og hvilken rolle skal veiledning spille i utdanningen av morgendagens lærere? Denne tematikken utforskes gjennom en studie av erfarne praksislæreres formaliserte veiledningssamtaler med lærerstudenter. De viktigste spørsmålene i boka handler om hvordan praksislærer og lærerstudenter gjennomfører veiledningssamtalene. Helt konkret spørres det: Hva er innholdet i veiledningssamtalene? Hvordan vurderes lærerstudentene? Hvordan forstås konsekvensene av veiledningssamtalene? Veiledningen som undersøkes, inneholder en trinnvis pedagogikk. Først må lærerstudenten lære seg å kontrollere, beherske og reflektere over det sosiale rommet både klasserommet og veiledningssamtalen er. Dette beskrives som en overordnet moralsk og regulerende diskurs. Denne diskursen danner grunnlaget for lærerstudentens neste trinn – som er selve undervisningen. Lærerstudenten må altså beherske to diskurser – én regulerende diskurs og én undervisningsdiskurs – for å bli en dyktig lærer. I tillegg må han eller hun tilpasse seg den regulerende diskursen i veiledningssamtalen. Den sistnevnte diskursen representerer i denne boka et innvielsesritual til læreryrket. Dette ritualet gir praksislæreren kontroll over innvielsen, samtidig som det begrenser handlingsrommet i veiledningssamtalen."

    Description: Minoritetsdiskurser i norsk litteratur setter søkelyset på ekskludering og inkludering formidlet gjennom ulike sjangrer og gjennom våre vitenskapelige tradisjoner innen norskfaget. Boka presenterer nedslag i en lang litteraturhistorisk linje, fra Ludvig Holberg til Camara Lundestad Joof, for å undersøke hvordan den kulturelle og politiske eliten gjennom historien har samlet diskursiv makt, og hvordan minoriserte grupper har respondert. Skjønnlitteratur og sakprosa har begge vært viktige våpen i denne maktkampen. Forfatterne tar opp ekskluderings- og inkluderingsprosesser rettet mot ulike grupper som innvandrere, kvinner, samer, homofile og jøder. Gjennom å løfte fram flere minoriserte stemmer ønsker forfatterne å nyansere mangfoldet i mangfoldet; flere av tekstene de drøfter her, vitner om interseksjonalitet, hvor flere identiteter overlapper i ett og samme individ.

    Description: " This is a collection of essays about the Norwegian ballade, but it also includes ballads from the other Nordic countries. Many perceive the Norwegian ballad as something very close to what is considered the Norwegian soul, however the genre of the ballad dates back to the 1100 century in Europe. In the first essay the author will shed light on the duality of the origin of the ballad. In the second essay, the author writes about the Norwegian ballade, where they arose, how they lived on and looks into what kind of tradition they represent. Trolls and ballads are topics of the third essay, and in the fourth essay the author takes a closer look at two Danish song- and ballad books, namely Hundreviserboka by Anders Sørensen Vedel and the sequel, Tohundreviserboka, by Peder Syvs. The fifth essay is about ballads and identity. A central question being asked here, is how both poets and tradition help establish the identity of the actors in the ballade. Furthermore, sixth essay focuses on mythical nature in ballads. The so-called jester ballads (Skjemteballadar), have long been invalidated by researchers. In the seventh essay, however, the author presents these ballades in relation to theories of comedy and laughter. Finally, the eighth essay the author presents some central European ballads."
    Description: "Denne boka er ei essaysamling om den norske balladen, men handlar også om balladar (folkeviser) frå andre nordiske land. Mange oppfattar den norske balladen som noko av det norskaste som finst, nærmast eit uttrykk for folkesjela. Men balladesjangeren har europeiske røter, dei går attende til 1200-talet. Denne problemstillinga drøfter forfattaren særleg i det første essayet. I det andre essayet skriv forfattaren om dei norske balladesongarane, kvar dei kom frå, korleis dei levde, kva for tradisjon dei representerte. Det tredje essayet handlar om troll og balladar, og i det fjerde essayet ser forfattaren nærmare på to danske vise-og balladebøker, den såkalla Hundreviseboka, utgjeven av Anders Sørensen Vedel (1591) og Peder Syvs oppfølgjar Tohundreviseboka (1695). Det femte essayet handlar om identitet og balladedikting. Eit sentralt spørsmål her er korleis balladediktarane og tradisjonen byggjer opp identiteten til aktørane i balladen. Vidare i det sjette essayet skriv forfattaren om naturmytiske balladar. Det sjuande essayet handlar om ei gruppe viser som lenge vart underkjende av forskinga, skjemteballadane. Her trekker forfattaren fram nokre representative skjemteballadar og skjemteeventyr, desse tekstane blir drøfta på bakgrunn av teoriar om komikk og latter. I siste del av 1700-talet vart dei gamle folkevisene gjenoppdaga av eit nytt litterært publikum, og det vart i mange land dikta kunstballadar som bygde på den gamle tradisjonsdiktinga. I det åttande essayet drøfter forfattaren nokre sentrale kunstballadar frå fleire europeiske land, blant dei viser som ettertida har forvist til skillingsvisekategorien."

    Description: Autobiographical and fictional illness narratives meet increased attention these days, both among laymen and women as well as within interdisciplinary research. The genre’s popularity can be seen as an offspring of the attention personal experiences have in Scandinavian culture both within publishing, social media, and autobiographical literature. Rage, relations, and celebrities. Contemporary Scandinavian lllness Narratives depicts and discusses how personal illness experiences is a complex phenomenon with regard to the emotions activated when facing illness, the relational diversity, the public discourse aiming at transparence and sharing, as well as commercial and authenticating agendas. The book draws theoretical inspiration from affect theory and Rita Felski’s writings on interpretation and literary theory. Rage, relations, and celebrities aims at showing how illness narratives is a flexible literary genre, illustrating some of the challenges but also the potential insights experienced in the light of illness – by patients, relatives, and readers.

    Description: Skjønnlitteraturens ungdommer er saftrike slyngelalderskikkelser. Slyngelalderen er en rampete, utforskende og uforutsigbar livsfase. Den skjønnlitterære ungdommen er, som ungdom ellers, i en prosess der de både skal finne ut av seg selv og kaste seg ut i verden. Selv om dette gjør skjønnlitterær ungdom saft- og næringsrik for den litterære fortolkeren, har de sjeldent fanget litteraturforskerens interesse. Den ellers så omsvermede ungdommen har rett og slett vært oversett som litterært tema og motiv. I denne boken retter vi derfor blikket mot ungdom i skjønnlitteraturen. Hvilken plass og funksjon har ungdom i litteraturen? Artiklene i antologien viser at enkelte bruker litteraturen for å vise ungdom hva de bør være, mens andre er opptatt av å utvide forståelsen av ungdom gjennom skildringer av hva ungdom er. Artiklene belyser skjønnlitterær ungdom fra 1700-tallet fram til vår tid, og de tydeliggjør samlet sett at saftrik ungdom florerer i litteraturen, også der man trodde de kanskje ikke fantes. Ungdom bør følgelig betraktes som et sentralt og kraftfullt litterært motiv. Artiklene i antologien dekker et bredt spekter: Her undersøkes både kjente og ukjente og eldre så vel som nyere tekster. Nedslagene er hovedsakelig i skandinavisk litteratur, men linjene trekkes også mot Europa. Boken retter seg mot studenter, undervisere og forskere i lærerutdanningene og i litteraturvitenskap og mot alle andre som har interesse for skjønnlitteratur og ungdom.

    Description: The Romance languages are the Indo-European languages developed from Latin. The term "Romance Languages" also refers to the academic discipline, which studies the Romance languages and literature from the areas where the Romance languages are spoken. This discipline has a long tradition in Sweden. Swedish academic education and research in the Romance languages forms the subject of this anthology, whose contributions are written by 22 different researchers active in the field. The anthology examines the historical development of the study of the Romance languages in Sweden, as well as important trends in current education and research. The question of what characterizes the Romance languages as an academic discipline in Sweden today is thoroughly discussed in several of the contributions. The book brings a metadisciplinary perspective in the sense that it is the discipline itself, Romance languages – or some aspect of it – that constitutes the object of study. It is aimed at anyone with an interest in university and scholarly history and the development and position of academic language subjects in a Swedish university context. In addition, several of the contributions are of relevance for readers with an interest in language didactics and for pedagogical research on language teaching in higher education. The hope is that the reflections and investigations gathered in this anthology will serve as a starting point for the future development of the study of the Romance languages in Sweden.

    Description: This anthology presents research projects that examine the intersection between music, technology and education from a variety of perspectives. The contributors are from a range of educational programs within traditional pre-, primary and lower secondary school education, as well as music performance and technology educational programs. Data for the studies stems from primary and lower secondary school, as well as informal learning environments, in addition to the contributors’ respective education programs. The research projects examine a wide range of topics such as gamification of ukulele and song teaching, composition with iPads in the classroom, live looping as an approach to ensemble conducting, authentic music technology learning spaces, music-making in the “laptop-era”, sound, the notion of net-based presence, and challenges in higher electronic music education. As this anthology is the first publication in the MusPed:Research series, it also contains an introductory chapter about the series and the research network Musikkpedagogikk i utdanning (MiU). This anthology makes a distinct contribution to the research field of music technology in education and questions educational practices in the school and higher educational levels, the goals and content of music education, and our understanding of music and music creation in itself.
    Description: I denne antologien presenteres forskingsprosjekter som hvert på sin måte undersøker møtet mellom musikk, teknologi og utdanning. Forfatterne i antologien kommer fra ulike utdanningsprogrammer, der både tradisjonelle barnehagelærer- og grunnskolelærerutdanninger så vel som faglærer-, utøvende musikk- og musikkteknologiutdanninger er representert. Prosjektene henter datamateriale fra de respektive utdanningene, men også fra musikkfaget i grunnskolen samt fra mer uformelle læringsarenaer. Forskningsarbeidene i antologien undersøker blant annet spillifisering av ukulele- og sangundervisning, komposisjon med iPad i klasserommet, live looping i ensembleledelse, autentiske musikkteknologiske læringsrom, musikkskaping i «laptop-æraen», sound, opplevelsen av nettbasert nærvær og utfordringer i høyere musikkteknologisk utdanning. Som første utgivelse i skriftserien MusPed:Research inneholder antologien også et eget introduksjonskapittel som omhandler skriftserien og forskningsnettverket Musikkpedagogikk i utdanning (MiU). Antologien stiller spørsmål ved etablert didaktisk praksis i musikkfaget i grunnskole og høyere utdanning, ved musikkutdanningens mål og innhold samt ved selve forståelsen av musikk og musikkskaping som sådan, og er et bidrag til voksende skandinaviske og internasjonale forskningsfelt om musikkteknologi i utdanningskontekster.

    Description: Esaias Tegnér (1782–1846) was for a long time considered not only Sweden’s foremost poet but also a national symbol, an author who defined the characteristics of Swedish culture. Tegnér’s status as the national poet has long since dwindled, and along with it, the attention paid to his work by literary scholars. This volume sets out to prove that the last of these developments should not necessarily flow from the first. Writing in a situation when Tegnér’s presence in Swedish culture is much less marked, six younger scholars approach the poems of Tegnér from the angle of their individual research interests to offer fresh readings of one of the most studied oeuvres in Swedish literature. The articles in the first part treat Tegnér’s relation to 18th century forms of public poetry, his erotic poems and the question of manuscript culture. In the second part, the central patterns of his poetry in the context of romantic metaphysics are reexamined, as well as his metrical art, in the light of cognitive and semiotic theories. The third part concerns aspects of the Tegnér tradition in Swedish culture: his role as a character in fictional and biographical representations, and the use of his work as raw material by 20th and 21h century poets. Together, the articles demonstrate the lasting interest of Tegnér’s works and the need to revisit them from new angles.
