    Description: En 1983 Pere Gimferrer publicó su primera novela, Fortuny. Según Octavio Paz, con este unicum literario, el poeta barcelonés reinventa el género novelesco 
con pinturas verbales que capturan fragmentos de un mundo artístico perdido. En este estudio se reconstruye por primera vez la génesis y la recepción de esta novela singular, teniendo en cuenta el (doble) impacto (y algunas polémicas) que causó en las letras hispánicas (catalana y castellana). Proponiendo un análisis narratológico, se desvelan las referencias literarias y cinematográficas del imaginario complejo de toda la producción gimferriana.

    Description: The revitalization and intercultural teaching of indigenous knowledge presents challenges for the educational and intercultural system; challenges that involve not only curricular content, but also methodologies. From here we see, for example, that the Chilean educational system is formal and largely based on writing, while the knowledge of indigenous peoples places emphasis on informal learning contexts and oral transmission. This book is the result of intercultural dialogues that occurred at the Federico Santa María Technical University, Valparaíso, Chile, while the possibility of having a new Constitution for the country was debated. We present it here with the hope of contributing to the discussions on the reformulation of the educational system in order to undo traditional asymmetries and install interculturality at the very core, paving the way for a society where interethnic and interlinguistic relations are not circumstantial or a mere decoration. cultural.

Analizzando alcuni luoghi (la stazione Termini e i ponti nella letteratura sugli italiani americani), la costruzione di spazi nazionali in termini trans-nazionali (l’Italia e gli Stati Uniti d’America), e due modalità di attraversare lo spazio (camminare e guidare), questo intervento si propone di ripensare la cultura, l’identità nazionale, ma soprattutto quello spazio che consideriamo come «nostro» in maniera più inclusiva.

    Description: Strategy-making takes place in webs of socio-material practices, where agency is mediated by artifacts and actors continuously reframe the way on which they give sense to their actions and objectives. Despite agency still depends on human actors, material artifacts can play a critical role in these ensembles of practices making strategizing always open to transformation. The practices associated with the strategy formation encompass conflicting people mental models, distributed knowledge and materiality for the development of a systematic, coherent and coordinated strategic process. The activities that qualify strategy-making are multifaceted and include a more or less deliberative and routinized individual decision-making and the conscious or unconscious exploration of emerging patterns. According to a cognitive approach to strategy-making, what strategists decide is largely influenced by their different perceptual filters, which are unique, as they were formed through the specific ways of engaging with the world, and by the construction of shared meanings. This consideration puts scholars to elaborate about the use of visual artifacts to frame strategic thinking and conceptualize a shared strategic orientation. The unfolding character of strategizing process stimulates to better understand the knowledge production process that explains the epistemic nature of the process itself. In particular, it has been demonstrated that the use of visual representations supports the knowledge production during the innovation processes as it facilitate the abstraction and the concretization of innovation practices. The potential benefits of using visual representations for fostering strategizing process have not yet been analysed extensively. Few case studies reflecting on the crucial role of visual representation in the strategy process and decisions in complex setting. This study aims to fill these gaps and explores how strategy maps shape the strategic practices within Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. The Italian University setting is a complex research field as it is a multivoiced domain and a rapidly changing one. A recent reform is stimulating a radical change in the management policies making the strategy processes a pluralistic and uncertain work.

    Description: El título de esta obra Originales e inéditos 1928. José Carlos Mariátegui es, en cierta medida, atrevido, por cuanto se considera que las obras completas, es decir, todos los escritos de Mariátegui están publicados, según se tiene conocimiento. Pese a dichas publicaciones, las lecturas de sus fuentes directas (léase, revistas de 1928) prospera ron y tomaron dimensiones para la decisión de compilar los escritos y cotejar con las posteriores publicaciones. Entendemos por inédito lo no publicado y estaría en contradicción si las obras de Mariátegui hubieran sido publicadas en su totalidad. Pero existe un enigma para los que desean leer y confiar en esa llamada totalidad. No hay nada más inquietante para un acucioso lector que indagar las fuentes directas como si en la indagación se tratara de manuscritos, y estas fuentes, indudablemente, son los primeros escritos de Mariátegui en distintas revistas de su época (consideramos aquí 1928). Y esta edición crítica nos presenta la compilación de los escritos de Mariátegui poco conocidos, digámoslo de alguna manera, como «manuscritos» o «inéditos», porque fueron archivados, y no tuvieron la disposición de su reedición. No nos plantearemos sus razones, sólo dejamos constancia de ello como un acto irresoluto.

Il carattere poliedrico e sfaccettato della letteratura di viaggio assume in questa raccolta particolare pregnanza: i saggi, dal carattere marcatamente interdisciplinare, si incentrano infatti sia su testi attribuibili alla letteratura odeporica nell’accezione più tradizionale del termine, sia su opere che ricorrono alla nozione di viaggio in senso metaforico. En este escenario, se debe sumar el cierre de fronteras producto de la pandemia y de las políticas de seguridad instaladas por algunos gobiernos, quedando múltiples grupos de inmigrantes y de refugiados sujetos a una mayor indefensión. El presente libro es fruto del quehacer académico de investigadores jóvenes titulados de Analistas en Políticas y Asuntos Internacionales de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile, que han encontrado en los desplazamientos humanos un lugar para desarrollar sus primeros acercamientos a la investigación y que representan el interés por la temática de las nuevas generaciones. Con la finalidad de fomentar el trabajo realizado por estos jóvenes investigadores en el área migratoria y potenciarlos, resulta esencial la difusión de sus propuestas con una publicación como esta, convirtiéndose dicho objetivo en uno de los principales fines de este texto.

    Description: This book suggests the importance of examining alternative discourses in the social sciences, in this case economics, beyond western-centric cultural milieu. The account attempts to unveil the existence of a post Second World War economic approach developed in Latin America. The perspective questioned the dominant economic science disseminated within and outside the Anglo-Saxon or Eurocentric countries (western-centric academia) during the 1950´s. Today, after the appalling cataclysms in welfare and equality generated by neoclassical economics, an alternative economics seems order in the Northern and Southern hemisphere. The rebirth of Latin American Structuralism within the developing countries, and the widely publicized names of Raúl Prebisch, Celso Furtado among others, within the western-centric audiences requires an up to date of the vocabulary and concepts. Retrospectively these authors discussed can be examined as the original sources in Latin America among those who developed the basis of decolonial thought. The book problematizes the domestication of Latin American Structuralism in the Northern or Southern hemisphere alike and discusses its potential similarities to Post-Keynesian perspectives related to power asymmetries among countries, firms, and heterogenous agents.

    Description: The preparation of this book coincided with the end of two years of social coexistence in the midst of a global pandemic. This health reality has been thought, analyzed and addressed in the international literature through multiple axes (health systems, employment, care, daily life, etc.), reporting, as general conclusions, that we show a radicalization of pre-existing social inequalities in contemporary society. The situation represented a field of experimentation for capital, and an open scenario of overlaps and tensions between "life" and regimes focused on profits. The contradictions of establishing a sense of collaboration between the health of the population and the interests of companies, led to hard-fought and tense examples of ways to generate government practices focused on care, confinement and non-mobility. In the framework of these circumstances, the research task was also conditioned, when not affected. This book brings together a set of productions completed in recent years. Behind their different articles, motivations, expectations, reflections and silent experiences of how each of the authors made writing compatible in a pandemic context are intermingled.

    Description: This work reconstructs the political-intellectual trajectory of the Socialist Party of Chile between 1932 and 1973, reviewing its emergence and development in national political life through key moments for the development of party reflection. As stated in its pages, these moments frequently exceeded the limits of party life, being linked to events and processes typical of the global, continental and national political development of the 20th century. It is argued that during the period in question there were a series of debates that accounted for different stages in the organizational, social and intellectual development of contemporary Chilean socialism. These debates were framed in three key concepts that were frequently discussed throughout the trajectory: class, anti-imperialism and revolution. At different times, and with different meanings, the trends defined themselves and their organization as class, anti-imperialist and revolutionary, without there being a consensus on the political and programmatic scope of these definitions.

El marco temporal de esta pesquisa abarca desde 1939 cuando se establece la producción sostenida de películas con sonido óptico en el país y 1973, cuando el golpe de Estado cívico-militar destruyó todos los pilares del campo cultural en Chile y muchos cineastas y compositores partieron al exilio. Este trabajo se propone desafiar la historiografía y la investigación existente poniendo el acento en la dimensión sonora del cine chileno. Da un lato, il Medioevo del fanatismo religioso, delle superstizioni, dello scontro fra chiesa e stato; un Medioevo oscuro, barbaro, oppressivo. Dall’altro il Medioevo della sincera devozione religiosa, delle grandi espressioni artistiche, dell’affermazione della libertà dei popoli contro la tirannia dell’Impero romano; un Medioevo luminoso, raffinato, fantasioso. Per incontrare in modo meno stereotipato il Medioevo occorre aprirsi ai linguaggi del passato, che a un esame attento rivelano dimensioni inaspettate. Se proviamo ad ascoltare le voci che ci giungono da quel tempo lontano, riusciamo forse a comprendere meglio anche il senso di quello che le attuali operazioni di riuso del Medioevo – dei vari Medioevi – cercano di dirci, non solo riguardo a quel periodo storico in sé, ma anche su noi stessi, oggi.

    Description: ‘Volontà’ discende, etimologicamente, da voluntas. Ma nell’accezione di voluntas non è più avvertita la plurivocità terminologica presente nella lingua greca. Di conseguenza la teoria dell’azione ampiamente affrontata nel contesto del pensiero classico (si pensi, tra gli altri, alle Etiche aristoteliche) ne ha risentito, finendo per risolversi, in ambito romano, in un quadro concettuale semplificato. I saggi qui raccolti hanno consentito di mettere a fuoco un vero e proprio nuovo paradigma articolato. Al suo interno si colloca una rinnovata concezione di ‘volontà’: quella che si dispiega nella moderna interpretazione dell’‘atto volontario’ e del ‘volontarismo’ tout-court.

    Description: There is part of the children’s population who experiences, in the language- acquisition field, an unparalleled and unique phenomenon: they are youngsters who arrive in Italy through international adoption. When they arrive, they are effectively legal citizens. However, at first Italian appears to be a foreign language which, gradually, is going to become a second language and, eventually, is going to turn into a second mother tongue. This process is extremely fast but it is also painful even because, along the way, the biological mother tongue is notched and replaced by the new adopted language. Often, these youngsters display to have linguistic and communicative disorders caused, on the one hand, by the pre-adoptive conditions and, on the other hand, by the urgency to organize the new language. It is a peculiar and evocative process which entails the intersection of bonds, languages and cultural worlds which are normally distant and divergent. The choice of adoption – with its permanent traits – challenges the family, the siblings and the newcomer. Several studies have already deepened the psychological consequences which an adoption may imply, but little is known about the linguistic-communicative aspects. This publication aims to approach the linguistic and acquisitional data of the adoptive experience, in relation to the primary mother tongue and the new-secondary mother tongue. A field research, conducted in the province of Mantua, allowed us to hand out a questionnaire, to the adoptive parents, regarding the linguistic process which has affected their children once they have come in contact with our language. A reasoned vocabulary of the linguistic terms related to adoption supplies additional and operational information to teachers, educators and parents

    Description: The volume that the reader has in his hands (or on his screen) constitutes a selection of the studies presented at the international congress “1820. The Illusion of Freedom. Revolutionary liberalism in Spain and America in the 1920s ”, held in Las Cabezas de San Juan and Seville in March 2020, as a way to reflect (and celebrate, of course) the bicentennial of the revolution that began the so-called Liberal Triennium Spanish. The anniversary functioned as an excuse to analyze relevant problems of the present. In this case, the congress returned to the links between a stagnant society, which had nothing else to offer, and one of the most important revolutions that took place in the Iberian Peninsula. This was done through the presentation of a set of investigations that addressed the economic, political, social and cultural aspects of the Spanish revolution of 1820, and that crossed the Ibero-American world in the first half of the 19th century. It was a collective effort, which we hope we have embodied in this compilation.

    The Reception of Sumerian Literature in the Western Periphery (2024)

    Description: This book investigates the transmission of Sumerian literature to Syria and Anatolia (i.e. the Western periphery) during the Late Bronze Age. Sumerian is the most ancient language so far documented and remained for about three millennia the language of culture in Mesopotamia for its association with scribal education. With the end of the Old Babylonian period, Sumerian literary and lexical texts were disseminated to regions outside Mesopotamia. The volume, however, is not limited to the documentation stemming from peripheral sites but also includes a comprehensive study of contemporary Mesopotamian sources, i.e. Middle Babylonian and Middle Assyrian. Sumerian literature is best known through the Old Babylonian texts, to which countless studies were dedicated, while the subsequent period is poorly known and has been neglected by scholars for the scarcity of sources. Nevertheless, the Late Bronze Age is extremely important for the Sumerian literature because the process of selection and modification of texts that ended up in the first millennium canonization started in this period. Therefore, this book aims at filling a gap in our comprehension of the history of Sumerian literature. The primary objective of this book is the identification of the tradition of texts discovered in the Western periphery in comparison with second and first millennium Mesopotamian sources. The subject has been approached from different perspectives, taking into account philological, cultural, and historical aspects.

    Description: Il volume contiene l’edizione critica dell’anonimo volgarizzamento della Brevis introductio ad dictamen, uno dei più diffusi trattati di ars dictaminis del Trecento, opera del maestro bolognese Giovanni di Bonandrea. Il testo, conservato da un solo codice, il quattrocentesco Riccardiano 2323, stilisticamente è modesto, ma risulta assai interessante sotto l’aspetto linguistico, in quanto testimonia della ristretta circolazione del lessico dell’ars in volgare. L’edizione è accompagnata da un’introduzione, che esamina le modalità di traduzione e i problemi attributivi e di datazione, da un commento e da un glossario dei termini grammaticali, retorici e metrici.

    Description: Questo libro presenta uno studio sulle rappresentazioni di genere nel linguaggio dei telegiornali italiani con un approccio interdisciplinare che integra l'analisi linguistica con l'analisi dei media. La prima parte fornisce una panoramica del quadro teorico e di ricerca su “lingua e genere” e “media e genere”, con una breve presentazione dei modelli teorici internazionali e una rassegna commentata dello stato dell'arte a livello nazionale, che evidenzia convergenze e nozioni condivise nella prospettiva comune del “genere” nei due ambiti disciplinari. La seconda parte presenta un’analisi delle rappresentazioni femminili e maschili nei telegiornali italiani, che esplora sia le variazioni di genere nel discorso delle fonti delle notizie, sia la tematizzazione di donne e uomini nei contenuti delle notizie, basandosi su un corpus linguistico. I risultati mostrano un quadro complesso: il linguaggio giornalistico italiano diffonde ancora attivamente rappresentazioni asimmetriche e stereotipate, caratterizzandosi così come androcentrico e sessista, ma mostra anche segni di innovazione rispetto al passato. In particolare, i risultati mostrano che un linguaggio giornalistico più consapevole del genere veicola rappresentazioni più gender-fair.

El liberalismo revolucionario en España y América en los años veinte”, realizado en Las Cabezas de San Juan y Sevilla en marzo de 2020, como forma de reflexionar (y celebrar, por supuesto) el bicentenario del Trienio Liberal español, atendiendo no sólo a sus implicancias en la Península Ibérica, sino especialmente a su impacto en América. La efeméride funcionó, entonces, como una excusa para analizar problemas relevantes del pasado y el presente. En este caso, los vínculos entre una sociedad estancada, y que ya nada más tenía para ofrecer, y una de las revoluciones más importantes que se desenvolvió a lo largo y ancho de Iberoamérica. Esto se hizo por medio de la presentación de un conjunto de investigaciones que atendieron a los aspectos económicos, políticos, sociales y culturales de la revolución de 1820. Se trató de un esfuerzo colectivo, que esperamos haber plasmado en esta compilación.

    Description: This book analyzes the theoretical and political positions of the Social Democratic Federation (SDF) against imperialism in the context of the Second Boer War, taking into consideration the following components: colonialism, in the sense of the SDF's assessment of the European colonial expansion and the reality of colonial peoples, in this case the situation of the Boer people and the native populations of South Africa; colonial politics, understood as the discussions of the government of the colonies, whether the possibility of establishing some type of imperial federation or the need to abandon them; imperialism itself, which included debates on the economic causes of the expansion of powers and its character as a generalized policy of bourgeois states or phase of capitalism; the imperialist war and national defense in the sense of the possibility of a war between the European powers and the need to defend Great Britain and its possessions and, the second Boer war itself, which implies taking into account the causes attributed to the conflict, the positions of the different party members (supporting or condemning the conflict) and the means to stop it.

Ha la forma di un dialogo fra il letterato al-Tawḥīdī e il filosofo Miskawayh elaborato alla fine del X secolo nel clima creato dall’ambientazione della filosofia e della scienza greca nella cultura arabo islamica. The proportion of the population involved was immense, and important parts of the city were seen for hours and even days, outside the control of the State. The dawn of metropolitan Santiago was illuminated with burning barricades, which were nothing more than the signs of street fighting, looting, fires, and finally the flashes of police and military carbines, rifles and machine guns. Six months later, in the southern part of the city, where Santiago was gradually dissolving beyond the Zanjón de La Aguada, thousands of poor homeless families occupied and took over the former La Feria farm, and from there they founded the current town.     Description: The Jesuit textual production from the sixteenth century leaves no doubt that the Japanese evangelising enterprise was publicised as the epitome of success. Francisco Cabral, third superior of the mission, who had initially shared this judgement, in time began fearing that the mission was, instead, doomed to failure. As he perceived the loosening of the internal ties of the Society of Jesus, and the salvation of the catechumens as more and more independent of that of the Jesuits, Cabral concluded that God had abandoned the mission. This study, using little-known manuscript sources, examines Cabral’s attitudes towards his confreres and the Japanese people, to illuminate how particular salvation mechanics could define early modern Catholic missions.

En las novelas del escritor argentino Juan Carlos Martelli (1934-2008) que analizamos -Gente del Sur, Getsemaní, Los tigres de la memoria, El Cabera, La muerte de un hombrecito y Los muros azules- la transgresión se revela en la forma de “delitos organizados”, instalada en lo social a partir de corporaciones delictivas atravesadas por la traición. A su vez, los mecanismos de la producción literaria pueden resignificarse interpretando alegóricamente la matriz de lectura del género policial, revelando una zona de interferencias entre la literatura y la propiedad, un conjunto de transgresiones en la red discursiva.     Description: The Christian Democratic Party has been a key piece in the more general insertion of Chilean politics in the great political-ideological trends that dominated the second half of the 20th century. During the past century, relations between external and Chilean political actors were framed in the context of great processes and dilemmas of global relevance: the Cold War and the more general competition between holistic social projects, the emerging concern for human rights, the experience of post-dictatorial transitions in Southern Europe, among others. These external actors played a very relevant role in promoting the political exit strategy from the Chilean dictatorship which, by converging with internal factors, had an important impact in determining the guidelines of the transition. Local political actors, such as the PDC, far from being pieces in the hands of external referents, played a leading role, using their international networks to consolidate and consolidate their political project. Unlike other works that have addressed the international dimension of the transition, the focus of this book is not the economic or the ideological aspects, but rather the political centrality of an actor, the Christian Democratic Party, and the capacity that it it had to consolidate at the international level its position of reference for the return to democracy in Chile.

    Description: Nel 1968 fu pubblicata la prima edizione completa della Bibbia cattolica in lingua cinese. Gli autori della traduzione erano i membri dello Studium Biblicum Franciscanum Sinense, l’istituto biblico fondato nel 1945 a Pechino dal francescano Padre Gabriele Allegra, che aveva inaugurato il progetto e scelto i suoi primi collaboratori. Questo volume approfondisce la formazione e il ruolo dei francescani cinesi coinvolti nella traduzione e delinea l’attività degli stessi nella successiva fondazione della Vicaria e della Provincia francescana cinese (1970, 1989). Viene presentata in dettaglio la figura di Padre Ludovico Liu Xutang, membro dello Studio Biblico e primo Vicario nel 1970. La traduzione del volumetto Huainian Liu Xutang shenfu consente di vedere concretizzati gli impegni di Padre Liu nelle attività bibliche dello Studio, nell’erezione della Provincia Reginae Sinarum e nella ripresa dei contatti con i cattolici della Cina continentale, e offre al lettore una raccolta di testimonianze dirette sulla vita del francescano.

    Description: With a marked revolutionary and workerist phraseology with libertarian overtones, the first revolutionary unionists in Argentina came from within the Socialist Party led by Juan B. Justo, within which they had challenged their growing electoral and parliamentary orientation, under the influence of the new ideas that they were beginning to gain ground in the French and Italian labor movement. At the beginning of the 20th century, intense social struggles in Argentina catalyzed this process of political differentiation, in the context of the first general strikes and direct confrontations with the state and the ruling class. During the following years, revolutionary syndicalism unfolded as a dynamic and ductile current within a recently formed, heterogeneous and highly ethnically fragmented labor movement. The book that we present here continues and advances on the investigations carried out in the last period, providing a set of original works that examine little-reported aspects of the Creole revolutionary syndicalist current during the period prior to the first government of Hipólito Yrigoyen (1916-1922), the mandate itself and the subsequent moment, already under the presidency of Marcelo T. de Alvear (1922-1928). Starting from a careful study of primary sources, the chapters investigate aspects such as: the syndicalist political formation prior to 1916; militancy and organization in the wood industry; the activation of revolutionary unionism among rural workers; the link between trade unionism and the world of women's work; the positions and struggles within the current around the state project of legal status for unions.
