Gavrilović looks for Celtic speakers in Eastern Europe. J. Gorrochategui, M. C. González Rodríguez, P. Lajoye offer partly revised readings of several votive inscriptions and divine names while P. Y. Lambert, B. Rémy, X. Delamarre analyse theonymical epithets in different ways and N. Beck scrutinizes the relationship between deities and ethnics. P. de Bernardo Stempel discusses the transformations to be observed in a provincial pantheon from the first Celtic inscriptions to the latest Roman ones; W. Spickermann questions the continuity between Pre-Roman and Romano-Celtic religion; A. Hofeneder follows the trail of an Old Celtic and later syncretic deity up to the Imperial Roman historical tradition. M.     Description: The volume is containing the critical edition of 207 letters of pope Innocent III’ addressed to recipients all over Europe and in the Middle East which were entered into the chancery registers of the 13th year of pontificate (1210/1211). It is the first of four volumes transmitted not as original but as a copy written at the Curia in mid-14th century and as print published in the 17th century.

    Description: The fifteenth volume of the critical edition of pope Innocent III’s chancery-registers is containing 242 letters addressed to recipients all over Europe and in the Middle East. In this year of the pontificate, the organization of the Church in The Latin Empire, the war against muslims in Spain and in the East and against heretics in Southern France are main topics constantly recurring in the Pope’s letters. The register of Innocent’s fifteenth year of pontificate is one of the four volumes transmitted not as original but as a copy written at the Curia in mid-14th century and as print published in the 17th century.

    Description: This richly illustrated volume explores the life and work of the Austrian classical scholar Joseph Eckhel, a crucial figure in the transformation of numismatic studies into a modern discipline. It contains twenty-one essays by an interdisciplinary group of international authors examining various aspects of Eckhel’s biography and scholarly activities: his Jesuit background, his formative study trip to Italy in 1773, his work as director of the imperial collection of ancient coins and professor of numismatics at the university of Vienna (from 1774), and especially his most important publications on ancient coins as well as on gems and cameos. Furthermore, the new book considers Eckhel’s impact on contemporaries and later generations, with special regard to his role in the development of numismatic methodology in the Enlightenment and beyond.
    Description: Dieser reich illustrierte Band erforscht Leben und Werk des österreichischen Altertumswissenschaftlers Joseph Eckhel, der eine entscheidende Rolle in der Transformation der Numismatik zu einer modernen Forschungsdisziplin spielte. Er enthält 21 Aufsätze einer internationalen Gruppe von Spezialisten, die im interdisziplinären Dialog verschiedene Aspekte seiner Biographie und seiner Forschungstätigkeit beleuchten: unter anderem Eckhels jesuitische Wurzeln, seine wichtige Forschungsreise nach Italien 1773, seine Arbeit als Direktor der kaiserlichen Sammlung antiker Münzen und Professor für Numismatik an der Universität Wien (ab 1774), und besonders seine wichtigsten Werke über antike Münzen sowie Gemmen und Kameen, unter denen Eckhels achtbändige „Doctrina numorum veterum“ (Wien, 1792-1798) als sein numismatisches Hauptwerk spezifische Beachtung genießt. Der neue Sammelband widmet sich auch Eckhels Wirkung auf Zeitgenossen und spätere Generationen, unter besonderer Berücksichtigung seiner Position in der numismatischen Methodengeschichte im Zeitalter der Aufklärung und darüber hinaus.

    Description: The edition of the documentary sources comprises the list of donations which contains reports from (allegedly) 1060 to 1341, also charters from 1135 to 1249 and supplementary sources especially from the later Middle Ages, however with lots of references to the early days of the history of the monastery. This is followed by the necrology written shortly before 1300 which has unusually close ties to the list of donations, and the calendar. Additionally there are extensive discussions concerning the history of research, the manuscripts, to certain sources up to controversival questions of localization.
    Description: Die Edition der dokumentarischen Quellen: umfasst das Schenkungen-Verzeichnis mit Nachrichten von (angeblich) 1060 bis 1341, die Urkunden von 1135 bis 1249 und ergänzende Quellen vor allem aus dem Spätmittelalter, jedoch mit vielen Bezügen auf die Frühzeit der Klostergeschichte. Im Anschluss folgen das kurz vor 1300 angelegte Necrologiumn, welches ungewöhnlich enge Beziehungen mit dem Schenkungen-Verzeichnis aufweist, sowie das Kalendar. Dazu kommen ausführliche Erörterungen zur Forschungsgeschichte, zur handschriftlichen Überlieferung, zu einzelnen Quellen bis hin zu umstrittenen Lokalisierungsfragen.
