    Description: Zusammenfassung Alte Menschen mit Hilfe- und Pflegebedarf, die in Altenpflegeeinrichtungen leben, haben nicht nur Anspruch auf eine qualitätsvolle medizinisch-pflegerische Versorgung, sondern explizit das Recht auf ein selbstbestimmtes Leben, das ihnen gesellschaftliche Teilhabe ermöglicht. Dazu verpflichten nicht zuletzt die Vorgaben der UN-Behindertenrechtskonvention. Das anwendungs-orientierte Forschungsprojekt „Selbstbestimmt teilhaben in Altenpflegeeinrichtungen“ hat Voraussetzungen zur Verwirklichung der selbstbestimmten Teilhabe von Bewohner*innen in stationären Einrichtungen der Altenhilfe analysiert. Im Rahmen einer sequentiellen Mixed-Methods-Studie wurden u. a. Interviews mit Bewohner*innen, Angehörigen und Mitarbeiter*innen sowie teilnehmende Beobachtungen in ausgewählten Einrichtungen und eine NRW-weite Online-Befragung durchgeführt. So konnten erstmals fördernde und hemmende Faktoren auf Ebene der Bewohner*innen, Mitarbeiter*innen und Einrichtung identifiziert und wichtige Anforderungen an die Teilhabeförderung praxisnah in einem Musterrahmenkonzept aufbereitet werden. Abstract Elderly residents of nursing homes do not only have the right to receive high-quality medical and nursing care, but also and explicitly to lead an autonomous life that enables them to partic-ipate in society. This right is not least stipulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The application-based research project ‘Autonomous Participation in Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly’ analysed the prerequisites for realising elderly residents’ autonomous participation in their nursing homes. Within the framework of a sequential mixed methods study, the researchers conducted interviews with such residents, their relatives and care home staff, participatory observations in selected nursing homes and an online survey throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. As a result, they were able to identify factors which facilitate and restrict such participation from the perspectives of the residents, staff and the care home itself for the first time, and thus stipulate important requirements for the facilitation and implementation of participation within a framework model.

    Description: Die Arbeit befaßt sich mit den Finanzierungsproblemen, die durch die prognostizierte Bevölkerungsentwicklung für die Gesetzliche Rentenversicherung entstehen. Zunächst wird herausgearbeitet, daß nur Instrumente, die an den demographischen Ursachen der Finanzierungsprobleme ansetzen, eine wirkliche Reduzierung der Lasten bewirken können. Hier bieten sich eine Erhöhung des Kinderlastenausgleichs und eine verstärkte Einwanderung an. Als Ergebnis einer Wirkungsanalyse des Kinderlastenausgleichs auf der Basis der neoklassischen Fertilitätstheorie wird eine Aufstockung der Mittel um gut 70.000 DM pro Kind für erforderlich gehalten, um den Beitragssatz im Jahr 2030 gegenüber einem laissez-faire Szenario um 1,5 Prozentpunkte zu senken. Durch eine verstärkte Einwanderung ließe sich die gleiche Beitragssatzreduzierung kostengünstiger erreichen.

    Description: Apart from financing retirement provision, assistance and care for elderly people ist he central issue in Swiss politics concerning elderly people. While medical care has been in focus of the discourse about health and social politics for a while, the issue of care work was often only touched upon. This book discusses legal issues concerning medical care and care work, describes the involved actors, the education, the recruitment and the wages of employees. Furthermore, self-sustained and health promoting living at a high age is an issue. It becomes evident that care work is neither legally defined nor with regards to content. Legal regulations securing quality standards, legal stability for employees as well as the integration of care work into the system of social security, are lacking in practice. In view of these conditions and changes and society, this book shows that the issue of care work needs more consideration in the political discourse concerning elderly people.
