Description: Considered the first specimen of a theoretical literature on Jewish political economy, the Discourse is much more. Initially conceived as an apology for the Jewish community of Venice, it is actually replete with sceptical ideas. This volume will essentially aim at refreshing the approach to this work by highlighting and analysing its sceptical background and implications, especially as far as it involves the realm of politics and fashions a sceptical political appraisal of the Jewish people.

Description: The curators, on the occasion of the World Day of Disability, have gathered together contributions, reflections, projects and workshops presented to offer an interdisciplinary reflection on the theme of disability and inclusion, beginning with "Unimc for Inclusion", a week rich in meetings on the theme of inclusion held at the University of Macerata. The authoritative contributions of scholars from diverse disciplinary fields, allow readers to retrace the theme of inclusion from different theoretical research perspectives, reconstructing an interesting corollary of reflections and operational paths ranging from special pedagogy, general pedagogy, psychology, social robotics, virtual reality, economics, law, literature, philosophy, art, etc. It is due of this approach that the text is particularly pertinent to teachers, educators and pedagogues in active service and in training, not least because of the range of workshop proposals and transferable experiences in school contexts and in day and residential centres.

Description: The energy transition is inducing new investments in the electricity production and infrastructure sectors worldwide. Turkey, with its increasing energy demand met mostly by fossil fuel resources, faces significant risk of a higher dependency degree on energy imports in the future. In order to address this issue, Turkey’s public policy framework includes not only strategies to increase the share of renewable energy resources in its energy mix but also aims to develop a local manufacturing industry and to enable technology transfer. This study examines the co-benefits to industrial development and trade of increased deployment of renewable energy in Turkey. The research is carried out in the context of the COBENEFITS project, which assesses a range of additional co-benefits of renewable energy in developing countries, besides reducing energy sector greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, when compared to conventional energy systems. The study also provides initial insights on the regional trade opportunities available to Turkey, should technological gaps in the solar and wind sectors be narrowed. The study methodology focused firstly on defining value chains for the solar and wind energy sectors in Turkey. This was done using licence and pre-licence information from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority and a unique administrative micro dataset (EIS) that includes all registered firms in Turkey and their domestic and export transactions. Secondly, coefficients for the value of production and trade were calculated. Finally, projections on industrial development and import–export values were estimated according to four scenarios for increased renewable energy (RE) capacity. As this study takes a static look at the scenarios, the current trade deficit resulting from low local value of production and technological gaps in the manufacturing of renewable energy equipment are also observed as core issues that should be addressed by renewable energy policies.

Description: For a better understanding of the sustainability of geothermal resources, we want to quantify subsurface masschanges caused by production and injection of fluids at the Theistareykir geothermal field in Northeast Iceland. For this purpose, we installed three superconducting gravity meters (iGrav006, iGrav015 and iGrav032) and twospring gravity meters (gPhone061 and gPhone128) in vicinity to the new geothermal power plant that started op-eration in October 2017.Prior to the Iceland installation, all gravity meters were setup at the gravimetric observatory J9 in Strasbourg forsimultaneous side-by-side measurements. The obtained data were used for instrumental calibration, comparisonof noise levels and tidal analysis. In Theistareykir, three of our measuring sites are set up close to the geother-mal production and injection wells. The fourth site is located outside the geothermal field, to provide referencemeasurements that are unaffected by the activities of the power plant. At each site additional physical parameters, which influence the local gravity signal, are measured. This includes the continuous monitoring of GPS-positions,rainfall, soil moisture and snow thickness. Moreover, snow weight and snow water equivalent are measured at thesite close to the production wells. Here, we present the results of the unique intercomparison of three superconducting gravity meters and twogPhones at Strasbourg and the initial time series obtained at the geothermal site in Iceland. A preliminary in-terpretation of the gravity variations with regard to the geothermal activities and the hydro-metrological dynamicsis given.
