    Description: Music plays an important role in many religions and in a variety of religious contexts. Music and Religion: Texts on Music in Religion and Religion in Music takes a look at the intersections between music and religion. We experience religion in music, and in religion we encounter musical expression. Although music and religion are unquestionably mutually pervasive, we can also come across gaps between them: Is it possible to move beyond a musical experience toward a religious one without having to hop over this gap? And is there any direct route from religion into music as an acoustic phenomenon? Without a religious interpretation of the music remaining? There is a wealth of research about music and religion, but little on how they meet. That is what this anthology seeks to remedy. Music and Religion will be relevant for anyone with an interest in encounters between these two phenomena. It will be especially relevant for students in performing, composing and scientific music education, as well as theology and religious studies. The anthology has been edited by Henrik Holm (associate professor in education at Oslo Metropolitan University and professor in philosophy at Rudolf Steiner University College) and Øivind Varkøy (professor in music education and music sciences at the Norwegian Academy of Music and professor II in music at Oslo Metropolitan University).
    Description: Musikk spiller en stor rolle i ulike religioner og ulike religiøse sammenhenger. Musikk og religion: Tekster om musikk i religion og religion i musikk setter søkelyset på møtepunkter mellom musikk og religion. Mennesker erfarer religion i musikken, og i religionen møter mennesket i musikalske uttrykk. Selv om musikk og religion utvilsomt gjennomtrenger hverandre, kan vi også støte på gap mellom dem: Er det mulig å overskride en musikalsk erfaring henimot det religiøse uten å måtte hoppe over dette gapet? Og finnes det en vei fra religionen direkte inn i musikken som klangfenomen? Forblir det ikke bare en religiøs fortolkning av musikk? Det finnes mye forskning på musikk og religion, men lite om hvordan de møtes. Denne antologien forsøker å gjøre noe med dette. Musikk og religion retter seg mot alle med interesse for møter mellom disse to livsfenomener. Den vil være særlig aktuell for studenter innenfor utøvende, skapende og vitenskapelige musikkutdanninger, teologi og religionsvitenskap. Boken er redigert av Henrik Holm (førsteamanuensis i pedagogikk, OsloMet, og professor i filosofi, Steinerhøyskolen), og Øivind Varkøy (professor i musikkpedagogikk og musikkvitenskap, Norges musikkhøgskole, og professor II i musikk, OsloMet).

    Description: In garden research, Spanish and Portuguese green spaces are scarcely visible. This is a striking contrast not only to their diversity and quality but also to the global network of both countries, especially during the Early Modern period. To counterbalance this, specialists from Spain, Portugal and Germany gathered in 2021 on an international and interdisciplinary conference. In the Portuguese Palace of Queluz they discussed the fundamental issues of garden art on the Iberian Peninsula. Their contributions are collected in this book. They are proof of a cross-border transcultural approach, which has freed itself from national stereotypes. Also, it addresses insights which have been derived from the cultural interaction across the centuries and the different epochs of garden art.

    Description: Fordommer sitter i språket og i måten vi snakker på. De kommer til uttrykk på forskjellige måter og kan brukes både som humor og hatefulle ytringer. Ofte bruker vi fordommer uten at vi engang er klar over det. Men hva er egentlig fordommer? Og hvem rammes av fordommene? Dette er relevante spørsmål i dagens skole. I Fagfornyelsen legges det vekt på at skolen «skal fremme demokratiske verdier og holdninger som motvekt mot fordommer og diskriminering». For å kunne jobbe aktivt med forebyggende arbeid i skolen er det derfor nødvendig å vite noe om hvordan og hvorfor fordommer oppstår, hvordan de brukes, og hvem som rammes. I Fordommer i skolen: Gruppekonstruksjoner, utenforskap og inkludering undersøker vi hvordan fordommer kommer til uttrykk blant elever, hvilke strategier lærere har for å håndtere fordomsfulle utsagn, og hvordan fordommer brukes og spilles ut i klasserommet. I boken analyseres også hvordan fordommer og ulike forståelser av fenomenet inngår som tema i opplæringsloven og i læreplanverket, og hvordan ulike minoritetsgrupper har blitt og fremdeles blir fremstilt i skolens læreverk. Et viktig formål med boken er å gi konkrete eksempler på utforskende undervisning og mulige undervisningsstrategier for å kunne forebygge og motvirke fordommer i skolen i dag. Boken er forskningsbasert og inneholder bidrag fra en rekke ulike fagfelt. Bidragene er relevante for lærerutdanning, lektorutdanning og PPU. Boken er også aktuell for skoleledere, rådgivere og lærere både i ungdomsskolen og på videregående trinn.

Nos dias atuais, seu consumo vem aumentando, seja na forma de suplementos para prevenção ou tratamento de doenças, seja como nutracêuticos. As pesquisas sobre as propriedades dos produtos apícolas também cresceram nas últimas décadas, com consequente aumento do interesse pela apiterapia, que atualmente integra o rol de atividades de medicina complementar de vários países. Experimentos realizados in vitro e in vivo, bem como ensaios clínicos, têm demonstrado que esses produtos podem ser indicados para o tratamento de várias enfermidades ou associados a tratamentos convencionais para manutenção da saúde. Visando estabelecer uma ponte entre apicultores, apiterapeutas e pesquisadores, este livro apresenta informações sobre os produtos apícolas, as evidências científicas de seu uso pelas abelhas e pelo homem e as aplicações desses produtos na apiterapia.

    Description: "The development and spread of self-help groups in Norway has been unlike that in other western countries. Public authorities, in collaboration with private sector volunteer resources, have created a national hybrid organization, Self-Help Norway (Selvhjelp Norge), to promote ‘self-help’ options. The introduction of combined groups, in which participants come together with a range of different problems or diagnoses, is also unusual. This book takes a closer look at the phenomenon of self-help in light of theories relating to group therapy, social movements, organizational sociology and welfare-state development. The individual chapters are based on the authors’ own research on self-help groups and the way they are organized in Norway. Our underlying point of departure is that self-help is in fact something quite different from the common public perception of a self-absorbed and ‘narcissistic’ activity that occurs at the expense of the community. Self-help groups have, rightly so, a focus on individual change and have recently gained a stronger psychological orientation. There is however a need for describing and analyzing the self-help group’s collective dimension, the reciprocal form of self-help that takes place in the context of the group. We analyze as well the growth of what we have called ‘the new self-help movement’ in the border zone between public and private sector and show how self-help has been established in various local societies as a form of social entrepreneurship. The movement’s breakthrough with the public sector is internationally unique, but it can also have come at a cost in the form of less legitimacy and relevance for the other self-help organizations. We pose questions about where these developments will lead."
    Description: "Utviklingen og utbredelsen av selvhjelpsgrupper i Norge skiller seg fra andre vestlige land. Myndighetene har sammen med frivillige krefter i sivilsamfunnet dannet en landsomfattende hybrid organisasjon (Selvhjelp Norge) for å fremme «selvhjelpssaken». Det er også spesielt at man har introdusert en arbeidsform med sammensatte grupper der deltakere kommer sammen på tvers av problemtyper eller diagnoser. Denne boken ser nærmere på fenomenet selvhjelp i lys av teorier om gruppeterapi, sosiale bevegelser, organisasjonssosiologi og velferdsstatsutvikling. De ulike kapitlene er basert på forfatternes egen forskning på selvhjelpsgrupper og måten de er organisert på i norsk sammenheng. Vårt utgangspunkt er at selvhjelpsgrupper er noe annet enn hva «selvhjelp» ofte fremstilles som i offentlige debatt, som en selvopptatt og «narsissistisk» aktivitet som skjer på bekostning av fellesskapet. Selvhjelpsgruppene har riktignok et fokus på individuell endring og har i den senere tid fått en sterkere psykologisk orientering. Det er imidlertid et behov for å beskrive og analysere selvhjelpgruppens kollektive dimensjon, den gjensidige formen for selvhjelp som skjer i gruppekonteksten. Vi analyserer også det vi har kalt «den nye selvhjelpsbevegelsens» fremvekst i et grenseland mellom stat og sivilsamfunn og viser hvordan selvhjelpsarbeid har blitt etablert i ulike lokalsamfunn som en form for sosialt entreprenørskap. Bevegelsens gjennomslag hos staten er internasjonalt unikt, men det kan også ha hatt en kostnadsside i form av mindre legitimitet og relevans hos de andre selvhjelpsorganisasjonene. Vi stiller spørsmål om hvor utviklingen går videre."

    Description: Em razão da importância do controle dos endoparasitos para a saúde dos pequenos ruminantes frente ao desafio imposto pelo crescente desenvolvimento da resistência parasitária aos produtos químicos, surgiu o interesse em desenvolver uma obra atual, com informações claras sobre os principais helmintos gastrintestinais, estratégias de manejo animal, resistência desenvolvida aos fármacos sintéticos (em especial, a resistência associada aos SNPs), bem como as formas alternativas de controle. Dando ênfase à fitoterapia como estratégia economicamente viável e ambientalmente segura para o tratamento alternativo de animais de produção, a obra traz uma revisão de espécies vegetais encontradas no Brasil cujas ações anti-helmínticas de importância para a saúde de pequenos ruminantes são descritas na literatura. Diante da vasta diversidade de plantas contendo antiparasitários naturais, é dado destaque às metodologias aplicadas in vitro e in vivo para validação científica de plantas como anti-helmínticas, potencialmente úteis como plantas medicinais fitoterápicas. Tais validações vêm sendo realizadas pelos autores, caracterizando plantas do Semiárido Nordestino como fontes de biomoléculas antiparasitárias. Por fim, a Biotecnologia é sinalizada como uma área indispensável para desvendar o conhecimento atual sobre endoparasitas a nível molecular, bem como para desenvolver tecnologias visando o controle parasitário, tais como fármacos inteligentes nanoencapsulados e vacinas gênicas.

    Description: Erling Kristvik (1882-1969) was a central figure in the Norwegian educational system in the 20th century. He was known for being the principle of Volda University College from 1930, as well as a writer of textbooks for teacher education. This book centers around Kristviks authorship, focusing on a manuscript many thought to be lost: Folkelære. Pedagogisk sosiologi, written in the 1940s and the key point of analysis in this book, was never published.
    Description: "Erling Kristvik (1882–1969) var en av Norges mest sentrale «skolemenn» på 1900-tallet. Han var særlig kjent som rektor ved Volda lærarskule fra 1930, en stilling han hadde fram til julaften 1941 da NS-myndighetene stengte skolen. Som lærebokforfatter kom han til å prege en hel generasjon lærere, og lærebøkene hans var lenge det dominerende pensum ved nesten alle landets lærerskoler. Han var en ivrig debattant, taler og foredragsholder, og skreiv en lang rekke pedagogiske og sosiologiske artikler. Denne boka drøfter sentrale sider ved Kristviks forfatterskap. En sentral tekst her er et manus som lenge har vært antatt tapt, men som nå er gjenfunnet: Folkelære. Pedagogisk sosiologi. Dette skulle utgjøre sluttsteinen i Kristviks pedagogiske forfatterskap, men det blei aldri utgitt. Kristviks arbeid med dette manuset gikk parallelt med at han nærmest lå i brevkrig med NS-myndighetene. Volda lærarskule blei sett som et «motstandsreir», og denne motstanden mot nazifisering førte til at skolen blei stengt, og Kristvik sjøl arrestert. Folkelære blir lest i lys av den argumentasjonen han samtidig førte for å hindre stenging. Enkelte formuleringer her skapte problem for han etter krigen. Men hans «forklaring» fikk brei støtte og blei akseptert av departementet."

    Description: O livro faz uma exuberante reconstituição da boemia paulistana entre os anos de 1860 e 1920, quando São Paulo teve a sua primeira fase de crescimento explosivo e a população saltou de pouco mais de 30 mil habitantes para algo em torno de 200 mil, graças à chegada em massa de imigrantes, principalmente italianos desencantados com a lavoura, e de estudantes de outros estados do país, a maioria deles para estudar na Faculdade de Direito do Largo São Francisco. Inspirado pelo trabalho do pensador alemão Walter Benjamin (1892-1940), que avaliou os gostos e costumes da Paris da Belle Époque, a autora retrata como eram as tabernas da época e como se comportavam os seus frequentadores, reconstituindo, assim, as relações sociais e pessoais que permeavam o consumo de álcool na São Paulo daquela época. Também faz um minucioso mapeamento da produção e do consumo de bebidas alcoólicas na cidade durante o período. A pesquisa ainda desvela, como pano de fundo, os gestos e sensibilidades do cotidiano da cidade nesse momento anterior à industrialização, captando costumes e modos de vida e pondo à mostra toda uma cultura gestual, material e historicamente construída, que logo acabaria por se transformar inteiramente.

    Description: Este estudo inves­tigou o que os torcedores organizados teriam a dizer sobre a violência no futebol brasileiro, para depois inter­pretar tais discursos à luz do referencial teórico de Johan Galtung. Visando contribuir com o debate sobre a violência no futebol, nesta abordagem, optamos pelo viés da compreensão em lugar da visão estigmatizante e preconceituosa sobre o tema. Defendemos que reduzir a discussão da vio­lência no futebol meramente à ação das torcidas organizadas frag­menta a análise desse complexo fenômeno e se mostra improdutivo, pois a violência no futebol perpassa a organização, gestão e estrutura do futebol brasileiro, além dos episódios de violência física.

In the form of the scientific essay, various historical professional struggles and processes that may lie behind this professionalisation are examined, partly from a critical perspective: Academisation, theorising, didacticisation, textualisation, and internationalisation, especially within first language (L1), L1 didactics and L1 didactic research. Documentation and discussion of the complex relationship between institutionalised academic operations and personal and collective knowledge development nevertheless constitute a main line in the presentation. The L1 subjects in which the descriptions are anchored are Danish, Finnish Swedish, Norwegian and Swedish. The contributions provide personal, experience-based, historical representations of the development contextualized with the narrators' own research in the field as well as descriptions of general development trends within schools, education, and society. A framing chapter provides methodological and theoretical premises for the texts and a concluding chapter analyses the content of and discusses the outcome of the essays. The book is aimed at anyone who is interested in the development of professional teacher training on a Nordic basis, especially native language and subject didactics.     Description: A partir de 1975, ocorre uma grande expansão da lavoura canavieira no estado de São Paulo e, no final da década de 1990, o início da mecanização das etapas de plantio e colheita da cultura. Com a expansão produtiva, elevou-se a concentração da posse da terra no estado, com mais de 64% de canaviais plantados em estabelecimentos agropecuários maiores que mil hectares. Nas empresas sucroalcooleiras paulista, o número de pessoas ocupadas nas atividades industriais cresceu proporcionalmente à produção setorial, mas foi reduzido para menos da metade o número dos trabalhadores empregados no corte de cana ou em outras atividades com menor exigência de qualificação profissional. Esses dados indicam que as transformações tecnológicas fizeram a atividade canavieira contribuir de modo negativo para a ocupação agropecuária paulista. Este livro procura estudar os efeitos dessa expansão na estrutura fundiária, apontar as causas da aceleração recente da mecanização das atividades de lavoura e, ao mesmo tempo, analisar seus efeitos sobre a ocupação canavieira e agropecuária no estado de São Paulo.

    Description: É indiscutível a importância econômica das hortaliças no Brasil, cuja cadeia produtiva movimenta bilhões de reais por ano. Porém, são poucas as publicações sobre o aspecto didático, lúdico e terapêutico que elas podem estimular. Nesta obra estão reunidos exemplos de como a horta pode, além de fornecer à população alimentos frescos e saudáveis, ser uma ferramenta de prática educativa, integração social e preservação ambiental. São apresentados aqui diferentes projetos que tem a horta como atividade central para envolver variados grupos: crianças, pessoas com necessidades especiais, reeducandos do sistema prisional, estudantes e a população em geral. Entre os resultados desses diferentes projetos, temos em comum a economia de recursos financeiros; o aumento do consumo de hortaliças, a satisfação pelo trabalho ao ar livre, a conscientização ambiental e o estímulo do senso de equipe. A partir dessas experiências, os autores analisam os projetos que tiveram a horta como ferramenta de integração social para promover benefícios a todos os envolvidos no seu cultivo, inclusive com a participação de docentes, alunos e ex-alunos da Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp).

    Description: "This scholarly monograph is based on a doctoral dissertation, On Holding Part of a Child’s Life in One’s Hands. Conversations between Professionals and Children with Mentally Ill or Substance Addicted Parents: An Ethical and Narrative Perspective, the subject of which is children’s participation in group therapy discussions for children whose parents are mentally ill or substance users. The book builds on experiences from participant observation in seven different groups and follow-up conversations with the participating children and the professionals who lead the groups. The objective was to investigate the possibilities children have in such groups for being independent subjects in search of and making sense. The issue is: How are a child’s experiences handled in discussion groups for children of mentally ill or substance addicted parents? The book’s scientific anchor is in expository hermeneutics, which underpins the emphasis on the significance of balance and reciprocity in interactions between the children and the professionals who lead the groups. In this connection, exploring in concrete situations how the group leader created space for the individual child’s perspective by putting his/her own perspectives into play (or by not doing so) is central. Expository hermeneutics also makes possible identifying some of what is not put into words, barely mentioned or implied, in interactions between the professional and the child, but which nonetheless may have considerable bearing on the understanding that is formed. The experiences and observations from the discussion groups are conveyed via nine stories detailing specific conversations and activities in which the children conveyed their experiences, thoughts and feelings, without them becoming further topics in the group work. Through interpretation of these stories a perception emerges of group conversation for children with mentally ill or addicted parents as being a practice in which the child’s own experience of their parent’s illness or dependency is only to a limited degree made an issue. Through a theoretical discussion in which what has transpired in the group interactions is elevated to a more generally insightful level, a deeper understanding of this phenomenon is sought."
    Description: Dette er en vitenskapelig monografi basert på avhandlingen Om å holde noe av et barns liv i sin hånd. Samtaler mellom profesjonelle og barn som har psykisk syke eller rusavhengige foreldre: et etisk og narrativt perspektiv. Tema er barns deltakelse i samtalegrupper for barn som har psykisk syke eller rusavhengige foreldre. Boken bygger på erfaringer fra deltakende observasjon i sju forskjellige samtalegrupper samt oppfølgende samtaler med barna som deltok og de profesjonelle som ledet gruppene. Formålet har vært å undersøke hvilke muligheter barn i samtalegrupper får til å stå fram som selvstendige meningssøkende og meningsskapende subjekter. Problemstilling er: Hvordan blir barns erfaringer håndtert i samtalegrupper for barn som har psykisk syke eller rusavhengige foreldre? Boken er gitt en vitenskapsfilosofisk forankring i en avdekkende hermeneutikk. Dette har lagt føringer for å vektlegge betydningen av det likeverdige og gjensidige i samhandlingene mellom de deltakende barna og de profesjonelle som har ledet samtalegruppene. I den forbindelse er det sentralt å utforske hvordan de profesjonelle, i konkrete samhandlingssituasjoner, skaper rom for det enkelte barns perspektiv ved å sette sine egne perspektiver i spill, og hvordan de ikke gjør det. Den avdekkende hermeneutikken har også gjort det mulig å identifisere noe av det som ikke ble satt ord på, eller som bare så vidt ble antydet eller nevnt, i samhandlingene mellom de profesjonelle og barna, men som likevel kan ha hatt stor betydning for den meningen som ble dannet. Erfaringene og observasjonene fra samtalegruppene er formidlet gjennom ni fortellinger. Disse beskriver konkrete samtaler og aktiviteter der barn formidler egne erfaringer, tanker og følelser, uten at disse blir gjort til videre tema i samhandlingen. Gjennom fortolkning av disse fortellingene kommer det fram en forståelse av at samtalegrupper for barn med psykisk syke eller rusavhengige foreldre synes å være en praksis der barns egne erfaringer av foreldrenes psykiske sykdommer og rusavhengighet i begrenset grad blir gjort til tema. Gjennom en teoretisk diskusjon der det som har foregått i de partikulære samhandlingssituasjonene, blir løftet opp på et mer generelt meningsbærende nivå, er det søkt en dypere forståelse for dette fenomenet.

Adicionalmente, a estrutura tradicional de organização em disciplinas que as isola em si mesmo e que não permitem ao aluno ter uma visão sistémica dos problemas, visão esta tão necessária no contexto profissional, requer mudanças ou abordagens que obriguem o aluno a ter esta visão sistémica e holística. Este livro apresenta a metodologia de Project-based Learning (PBL) ou Aprendizagem baseada em Projeto, desde a sua fase de preparação até à sua implementação num curso de Engenharia.     Description: In the evolution of Humanity, communities emerge as a strategy for optimizing individuals' resources. The sharing of these resources ensures greater physical security (from predators) and security of supply (specialization in hunting and, later, agriculture). As an additional advantage, we have evolved in general knowledge and in our ability to organize as a group, far surpassing the dreams of the first groups that joined. Energy communities offer derivations of the initial advantages: physical security, opting for smaller power stations and clean and safe energy, and security of supply, not only because a more local organization allows the substitution of at least part of the energy sourced from less than recommendable countries or actors, but also represent increased capacity to deal with network disruptions caused by the elements, such as storms or fires, whose frequency and intensity are expected to increase. Additional advantages are also now foreseen, such as the democratization and accessibility of energy or the boosting of investments in renewable energy, crucial for the decarbonisation of society. This is a concept tied to technological development, both on the energy and on the communication/information fronts, only now achieved. However, given the existence of an organized energy system prior to these possibilities, it has had a challenging evolution. Having been one of the first countries to legislate the concept, three years later we still cannot be satisfied with the low penetration of the concept in our society. In order to realize the potential of energy communities, ten specialists were invited to, in each of the different aspects of this new area of ​​knowledge, enlighten us on the advantages and limitations of this reality in its application in Portugal.

Também agora se preveem vantagens adicionais, como a democratização e acessibilidade da energia ou o potenciar de investimentos em energia renovável, crucial para a descarbonização da sociedade. Este é um conceito permitido pelo desenvolvimento tecnológico, tanto na frente da energia como na da comunicação/informação, apenas agora atingido. No entanto, atendendo à existência de um sistema energético organizado anteriormente a estas possibilidades, tem tido uma evolução difícil. Tendo sido um dos primeiros países a legislar o conceito, três anos depois ainda não podemos estar satisfeitos com a fraca penetração do conceito na nossa sociedade. Para perceber o potencial das comunidades de energia, foram convidados alguns dos melhores especialistas nacionais para, em cada uma das diferentes vertentes desta nova área de conhecimento, nos esclarecerem sobre as vantagens e limitações desta realidade, com especial ênfase na sua aplicação em Portugal.

Enquanto o apelo à ação se vai ouvindo ao nível global, a ação concreta, política e executiva, tem de se fazer, a começar com o respeito e a sensibilidade pelos valores e realidades vernaculares, culturais e económicas, que o sítio exige por si e pela sua quota-parte para o todo do Planeta. É neste contexto que se justifica a oportuna necessidade deste livro, que se apresenta como uma compilação e reflexão sobre o conhecimento e experiência adquirida pelos autores, ao longo de mais de 40 anos de investigação e consultoria na articulação harmoniosa dos problemas nas áreas da energia, saúde e sustentabilidade associadas à gestão do ambiente construído português. Isto é, não deixando nenhum responsável de fora desta missão que parte da realidade da fragilidade, tantas vezes sublinhada, do ambiente em geral e do Planeta em si mesmo, que requer a solidariedade de todos. A cacofonia das terminologias sobre a energia dá disso uma imagem confrangedora ao chamar à eletricidade “a energia”, quando aquela é apenas uma forma de energia, “simpática” é certo, mas uma forma de energia entre muitas. Por isso, Semanários e TVs de elevadas audiências deveriam ser mais cautelosos e respeitosos do tema, mesmos que isso não lhes pague mais. Tentando não cair em modas ou tendências e analisando a situação ab initio, os autores apresentam e discutem os princípios científicos base, comentam e questionam a realidade recente do desenvolvimento urbano e da construção em Portugal, invocando o vernacular e o atual, e sugerem abordagens e perspetivas que ajudarão, de forma consciente e eficaz, a transformar os espaços urbanos e os edifícios para um futuro inclusivo e amplamente respeitador dos valores sociais, económico.

    Description: Tijolo, concreto, aço, gesso, o que estes produtos tradicionais de construção possuem em comum? Todos continuam a emitir gás carbônico durante suas vidas úteis. A construção civil é hoje responsável por quase 40% do carbono na nossa atmosfera. Por isso é importante que os produtos que hoje usamos para construir sejam repensados. Compósitos madeira cimento é uma das alternativas promissoras neste sentido. Estes compósitos são formados pela mistura de partículas de madeira, que não só emitem baixo teor de gás carbônico em uso, mas também armazena o carbono durante seu processo de formação enquanto árvore, e cimento, material comum, aceito e de fácil acesso em todo o mundo. A combinação destes produtos geram um compósito com características positivas de ambas as partes, por exemplo, ao mesmo tempo que resistem ao ataque de fungos e cupins, por causa do cimento, são mais leves e elásticos, por causa da madeira. Porém ainda há desafios para a popularização deste material, sendo o principal deles a seletividade da espécie de madeira usada que pode interferir na pega do cimento. Assim, essa obra busca levantar o estado da arte dos estudos sobre esse material para servir de base e inspiração para o desenvolvimento de novas pesquisas e inovações tecnológicas.

    Description: Ministers, deacons, catechists and cantors are among the church professionals laypeople meet in the context of worship, other church services, and congregational activities. These professionals are upholding a social mission, influencing church practices, setting the tone and developing programs and services within their congregations. What are the hallmarks of the different professions within the church? What insight should church professionals have into each other’s identities and areas of expertise to collaborate and participate in interdisciplinary teamwork? And how, in practical terms, should they be lead? Profession and Leadership in the Church of Norway: Organizing Work of a Church in Change provides sociological and administrative insights into general and contextual phenomena in the church professions. Relationships between professions, administration and organization in the Church of Norway are analyzed in light of empirical studies and an institutional theoretical framework. The author discusses how the professions derive appropriate ways of organizing their work. A key finding in the book is that church professions are characterized by calling, autonomy and complexity. These particular features make value-based leadership especially well-suited to the church professions. Part of the work on a new national church law includes addressing central questions about how the Church of Norway, with its extensive range of services and activities, should be led and organized. Hva slags innsikt bør profesjonsutøverne ha om hverandres identitet og faglighet for å samarbeide og delta i et tverrfaglig samspill? Og hvordan kan profesjonene best mulig ledes i praksis? Profesjon og ledelse i Den norske kirke: Organisering av arbeid i en kirke i endring gir profesjonssosiologiske og ledelsesfaglige innsikter i allmenne og kontekstuelle fenomener ved kirkeprofesjonene. Sammenhenger mellom profesjoner, ledelse og organisering i Den norske kirke analyseres i lys av empiriske studier og et institusjonelt teoretisk rammeverk. Forfatteren drøfter hvordan profesjonene utgjør en hensiktsmessig måte å organisere arbeid på. Et sentralt funn i boken er at kirkens profesjoner kjennetegnes ved kall, autonomi og kompleksitet. Disse særtrekkene bidrar til at verdibasert ledelse er særlig velegnet overfor profesjonene. I arbeidet med ny kirkeordning inngår sentrale spørsmål om hvordan Den norske kirke med sin mangfoldige virksomhet skal ledes og organiseres. Denne boken bidrar til et større kunnskapsgrunnlag om fagledelse og profesjonenes rolle i dette komplekset. Profesjon og ledelse i Den norske kirke er aktuell for forskere i profesjonsstudier og organisasjons- og ledelsesfaglig samt praktikere; ansatte, kirkeledere og rådsmedlemmer. Tematisk er boken også relevant for studenter ved utdanninger som fører til kirkelig stilling. In the interview material, students and researchers share their experiences of the difficulties and the joys of writing, as well as personal decisions they have made in the course of becoming creative writers in their fields.     Description: Hans Nielsen Hauge established and led at the end of the 18th century Norway's first nationwide popular movement, a low church network that would leave its mark on everyday life, business development and politics in the transition from absolute monarchy to representational government. People called themselves Haugians long after Hauge's death in 1824. It was a spiritual awakening on a scale that deserves considerable room when we write the history of modern Norway. This book provides a new perspective on the roots of the Hauge movement in the religious mentality of the 18th century, on how it functioned in its most radical phase up to 1814, and on the importance of the network for economic modernization and political mobilization in the subsequent decades. Retrospective interpretations of Hauge's complex endeavor are also explored. In sum, the nine chapters provide a broader understanding of the Hauge movement and the era in which it flourished. We hope that the book also sheds light on the state of Norway's people, government and religiosity today, over 250 years after Hauge's birth. The book has been edited by research fellow Eli Morken Farstad and associate professor Kristian Holen Nymark, both historians at the University of South-Eastern Norway.

Det lavkirkelige nettverket satte sitt preg på hverdagsliv, næringsutvikling og politikk i overgangen fra enevelde til folkestyre. Folk kalte seg haugianere lenge etter Hauges død i 1824. En slik vekkelse må få stor plass når vi skriver historien om det moderne Norge. Denne boka gir nye perspektiv på Hauge-bevegelsens røtter i 1700-tallets religiøse mentalitet, på hvordan vekkelsen virket i sin mest radikale fase fram mot 1814, og på nettverkets betydning for økonomisk modernisering og politisk mobilisering framover i hundreåret. Ettertidens fortolkning av Hauges mangslungne virksomhet blir også lagt under lupen. I sum gir de ni kapitlene en bredere forståelse av Hauge-bevegelsen og tiden den virket i.     Description: Sápmi, the Sámi area, is transnational; it transcends four nation states, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. Art and art history has been considered natural parts of a nation state’s inventory at least since the 19th century and has contributed to the production and maintenance of national identities and narratives. What is the role of the nation state in art history, and how has the national paradigm affected the presentation of Sámi art, historically and today? Focusing on the discipline of art history in Norway, the volume exposes the prevailing representation of Sámi art, duodji, and dáidda as ethnographic material and relates it to the politics of nation building in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. The book examines the representation of Sámi art, artefacts, practices, materialites, actors, concepts, and themes in Norwegian Art History, to uncover some of the established disciplinary mechanisms and narratives. The central method is historiography in combination with fieldwork in archives and museums, aimed at doing art historiography in the expanded field – to move beyond the traditional textual focus and question naturalized institutional and disciplinary boundaries. This is one of very few historiographical studies of the art historical discipline in Norway, and the only one that does this by centring on Sámi traditions, items, actors, and conceptualizations.

Deretter startet en epoke med en serie reformer for konsentrasjon og samling, for å styrke kvalitet, forskning og nasjonal konkurranseevne i en tid der kunnskap er vår viktigste ressurs. Det har vært skiftende syn på styring av og innenfor sektoren, påvirket av internasjonale trender. Det betyr ikke at de regionale ambisjonene ble mindre, men de antok andre former.     Description: O judaísmo moderno corresponde aos diversos esforços de traduzir a tradição judaica rabínica em conceitos e valores da modernidade. Esta tradução não foi somente intelectual, mas, fundamentalmente, prática. Significou o abandono da auto-organização comunal e a autonomia cultural e judiciária dos judeus que o rolo compressor do Estado moderno não podia suportar. Na visão dos defensores da causa judaica na Revolução Francesa, a emancipação política dos judeus passava pela emancipação do judaísmo. Os “vícios” judaicos – hábitos alimentares repulsivos; misantropia – eram generosamente explicados como se fora efeito do isolamento a que foram condenados. A integração na sociedade permitiria uma rápida “regeneração” do povo judeu.

    Description: O principal objectivo deste livro é determinar as bases do processo de secularização e laicização da sociedade portuguesa e tentar entender se o processo português é generalizável aos outros países da Europa Ocidental. A análise parte do processo de massificação da literatura de espiritualidade, que teve início em França no início do século XVII e conheceu prolongamentos em Portugal na segunda metade do século. Este processo levou a uma “secularização da devoção” e ao desenvolvimento de uma epistemologia, primeiro, e a uma psicologia, depois. Pretende-se demonstrar a forma como o iluminismo português, encarnado pelo Marquês de Pombal, veiculava uma visão do homem que se fundava na profunda introspecção resultante desse processo. Procura-se, igualmente, demonstrar a emergência de um partido agostiniano e anti-jesuítico em Portugal na segunda metade do século XVII, e que Pombal utilizou como base social crítica para o seu processo de reformas sociais.Trata-se de uma forma de abordar a questão da secularização que está nos antípodas da tese oficial de uma retirada progressiva de Deus do seio da sociedade humana. Paradoxalmente, a gradual emancipação da razão humana pode ter sido potenciada pela acção daqueles que mais a desprezavam.

This scholarly anthology includes articles from researchers associated with the project NECORE (Negotiating Values: Collective Identities and Resilience after 22 July) and other researchers whose work is closely associated with the project. They give us insights, opinions and sharp perspectives on not just 22 July, but also about Norway today, about values, identities and resilience in Norwegian society in the wake of the terror attacks. An important backdrop for the book and the project is the assertion that, as the events themselves recede into the past, it is even more important to focus on what the terror events have led to and how we can learn from them.     Description: "This book takes the reader on a historical and theological journey through intense awakenings, decisive church foundations and dramatic schisms in southwestern Norway from the 1820s to the present. Based on extensive source material, the book provides new perspectives on the history of the so-called ‘firm believers’ and a nuanced presentation of their theological development from a vigorous revival during the first half of the 19th century to today’s closed religious communities. The Old Paths: The History of ‘Menigheten Samfundet’, ‘Det Almindelige Samfund’ and other ‘firm believers’ describes a diverse religious tradition marked by deep devotion and intellectual rigour, while also giving the reader a glimpse of prominent church leaders, charismatic preachers and devoted believers. Many in Rogaland and Agder today are familiar with ‘lomelendingane’ – adherents of the Menigheten Samfundet sect, named after its founder, Bernt Lomeland – in Kristiansand and Egersund, and such similarly named groups of followers as the ‘perane’ and ‘larsane’, also in Egersund. A procissão deve ser interpretada como uma marcha de geógrafos que fundaram e formaram o grupo coeso do Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas sobre Espaço e Cultura (NEPEC), em 1993, no Instituto de Geografia da UERJ. A obra possibilitou, segundo a autora, uma autoanálise crítica enquanto geógrafa e a reflexão e interpretação do sagrado e profano na ciência geográfica. O interesse libertador ou emancipador, próprio da reflexão científica, resultou em estudos elaborados que compõem este livro. As procissões, como atividades religiosas, são organizadas por hierarquia eclesiástica. Nesta abordagem, a hierarquia será pela importância de um artigo, num conjunto de vários publicados. Sem dúvida, a harmonia da hierarquia está baseada na escala de importância, no sentido de valor atribuído às ideias e no tempo em que ocorreram A representação e o valor simbólico foram interpretados em manifestações materiais e imateriais do sagrado. E desse valor simbólico que nasceu a hierarquização das manifestações do sagrado no espaço. A paisagem é reflexo do comportamento dos atores sociais em seus grupos religiosos e também marca e matriz desse comportamento cultural. A procissão como ritual sacraliza o espaço, fornece uma paisagem religiosa móvel. A paisagem religiosa é conceito fundamental nos estudos geográficos pela relação simbólica existente entre cultura e espaço."

Functional impairment and disability are meaningful human experiences that are important to explore critically and constructively, in a Norwegian context as well. Fellowship – that everyone is entitled to equal conditions and opportunities for participation in a society – is also relevant in the context of religion, theology and diakonia. Religious fellowship comprises among other things the possibility of being able to choose religious participation and to be religiously active, for example through degrees of association and social participation, employment and volunteer work. Many people have experienced exclusion from participation in religious practices and communities due to specific attitudes or physical barriers. This anthology presents new research on a variety of topics relating to religious fellowship with a focus on equality, human rights and views of humanity. Trata-se de um estudo detalhado dos processos de identificação e aprendizado pelos quais pessoas de classe média soteropolitana passam a incorporar o candomblé em suas vidas e a terem nos terreiros experiências para as quais sua trajetória de classe pouco lhes preparou. Ao indagar sobre os motivos que levaram a adesão dessas pessoas, o livro costura tais questionamentos e gera uma contribuição importante para a renovação das pesquisas na área do candomblé.

    Sacrificium Laudis: a hermenêutica da continuidade de Bento XVI e o retorno do catolicismo tradicional (1969-2009) (2021)

    Description: Nesta obra pretende-se estudar as duas formas rituais da liturgia romana, comparando-as e procurando entender os motivos do cisma, ao mesmo tempo em que se pretende abarcar as ações do atual pontífice e as reações no mundo católico e fora dele. Para tanto, usar-se-á como fonte o Missal tridentino de 1570 e o novo Ordo Missæ de Paulo VI de 1969, bem como os catecismos formulados após os Concílios de Trento (1545-1563) e o Vaticano II (1962-1965), tendo por objetivo comparar suas notificações sobre o culto católico e seu significado. Durante o processo de análise tem-se a intenção de vislumbrar o impacto das mudanças no seio da Igreja, pois constata-se uma espécie de endurecimento no final do pontificado de João Paulo II, com a promulgação de documentos litúrgicos que tendem a criar empecilhos para possíveis abusos durante a missa (Ecclesia de Eucharistia, 2003) - há a retomada e destaque do sentido sacrificial do culto católico e uma série de recomendações impostas pela Congregação do Culto Divino para celebração da missa (Redemptionis Sacramentum, 2004). Fato é que, quarenta anos após o mencionado Concílio Vaticano II e quase quatro décadas de utilização do novo rito da missa, é rara qualquer menção específica na historiografia recente da Igreja sobre o andamento de tal tema. A maioria dos livros de história da Igreja que traça um levantamento de fatos até o Vaticano II, apresentam-no como uma espécie de revolução interna da estrutura eclesiástica sem, contudo, aprofundar o tema ou mostrar as crises na Igreja decorrentes deste.

    Description: "Em 1994, aos vinte e cinco anos de idade, quando o terrível “despedaçamento que vem com a agressão sexual” dobrou-se profundamente em seu corpo e pensamentos de suicídio estavam sempre por perto, Erin Manning escreveu A Manga Perfeita num estado quase febril: dezenove capítulos em dezenove dias, uma espécie de operação de auto-resgate, onde a escrita tornou-se uma maneira de fazer (e sentir) a vida de outra forma.
