    Simfonije za dve violini in bas = Symphonies for Two Violins and Bass (2022)

    Description: Amandus Ivanschiz (in Slovenian literature “Ivančič”) belongs to a group of today little known 18th-century composers. He was, however, in his own time all over Central Europe well known and largely copied monastic composer. Around 200 compositions survived to this date in various copies now preserved in Slovenian, Croatian, Austrian, Czech, etc. archives. However, only a few of his compositions are available to modern performers. In volume 3 of the Monumenta artis musicae Sloveniae series are published three “Simphoniae” for two violins and bass, i.e. triosonatas, typical for Viennese musical circles of the 1750s and 1760s. The music is accompanied by an introductory presentation of the composer’s works and Revision Report by Danilo Pokorn (1984).The digitized version of the edition (2020) includes a New Introduction as well as Corrigenda by Maciej Jochymczyk bringing to the reader’s attention new information on father Amandus and corrigenda of the earlier edition.
    Description: Amandus Ivanschiz (Ivančič) sodi med danes manj znane skladatelje 18. stoletja, čeprav je bil v svojem času razmeroma močno prisoten v srednjeevropskem glasbenem prostoru. O tem priča ok. 200 njegovih skladb, ki so se v prepisih ohranile širom srednje Evrope: v slovenskih, hrvaških, avstrijskih in čeških arhivih. Izvajalcem in raziskovalcem glasbene kulture je še vedno dostopen le majhen del njegovega opusa. Tretji zvezek zbirke MAMS v sodobni notni izdaji prinaša tri Ivančičeve simfonije za dve violini in bas oz. triosimfonije, kakršne so bile značilne za dunajske skladateljske kroge 50-ih in 60-ih letih 18. stoletja. Zvezek je opremljen z uvodno študijo o življenju in delih patra Amandusa in revizijskim poročilom Danila Pokorna (1984).Digitalizirana po-izdaja iz leta 2020 prinaša dodatni Novi uvod in Corrigenda Macieja Jochymczyka s posodobljenimi podatki o skladatelju in popravki zgodnejšega vedenja.

    Catalogue and Systematics of Pliensbachian, Toarcian and Aalenian Radiolarian Genera and Species (2022)

    Description: This volume comprises a catalogue of 90 genera, 274 species and 13 subspecies of Pliensbachian, Toarcian and Aalenian Radiolaria. Two genera, 37 species and 3 subspecies are new formal descriptions, 24 species are described in open nomenclature. Each taxon is presented with a complete and up-to-date synonymy, original description and original remarks (translated into English where necessary), subsequent emendations, remarks by the authors of this catalogue, and etymology. Descriptions of species/subspecies further contain the original measurements, type locality, and data on geographic distribution. Plates illustrate the holotype and one or several specimens from our material, from different paleogeographic realms where possible. The material was collected from 30 measured sections in the Circum-Pacific belt (Baja California Peninsula, Oregon, British Columbia, Japan) and the Tethyan realm (Oman, Turkey, Slovenia, Austria). Abbreviated locality information and a list of all treated taxa are given in the last two chapters.A useful book for paleontologists interested in taxonomy of Jurassic radiolarians.
    Description: Katalog obsega 90 rodov, 274 vrst in 13 podvrst radiolarijev iz treh stopenj v spodnji in srednji juri: pliensbachija, toarcija in aalenija. Dva rodova, 37 vrst in 3 podvrste so formalno opisani novi taksoni, 24 vrst je opisanih v odprti nomenklaturi. Vsak takson je predstavljen z vso dosedanjo sinonimiko, originalnim opisom in originalnimi opombami (v prevodu, če originalni jezik ni angleščina), poznejšimi revizijami, pripombami avtorjev tega kataloga in etimologijo. Opisi vrst in podvrst vsebujejo še originalne meritve, ime tipične lokalitete in podatke o geografski razširjenosti. Vsaka vrsta ali podvrsta je predstavljena s samostojno tablo, na kateri so slike holotipa in več primerkov iz naših vzorcev. Kjer je mogoče, so ilustrirani primerki z različnih paleogeografskih območij. Vzorci so bili pobrani na 30 profilih, posnetih v cirkumpacifiškem pasu (Kalifornijski polotok, Oregon, Britanska Kolumbija, Japonska) in v območju Tetide (Oman, Turčija, Slovenija, Avstrija). Dodatek na koncu knjige vsebuje kratek opis vzorčevanih profilov in seznam vseh obravnavanih taksonov.

    Description: This edition contains Four Concert Miniatures for Violin and Piano by Oskar Rieding (1846–1916), composed in Celje, shortly before World War I. Although Rieding’s compositions have been an important part of the violin repertoire for decades and have appeared in various reprints by major European publishers, Four Concert Miniatures for Violin and Piano has been overlooked until now. These four musically delightful miniatures form a longer, self-rounded cycle with the movements Tendresse (Tenderness), L’Aveu (Confession), Le Départ (Departure), and Désir ardent (Desire). The composer succeeded in capturing an affectionate ambience through the violin cantilena. In these distinctly lyrical character pieces, he expressed romantic feelings with his emblematic melodic style. The present edition fills the knowledge gap about this composer who was active in Celje, but also enriches the violin repertoire intended for advanced performers.
    Description: Pričujoča notna izdaja prinaša Štiri koncertne miniature za violino in klavir Oskarja Riedinga (1846–1916), ki so nastale v Celju tik pred prvo svetovno vojno. Čeprav Riedingova dela v violinističnem repertoarju že desetletja igrajo pomembno vlogo in se pojavljajo v različnih ponatisih uglednih evropskih glasbenih založniških hiš, so skladateljeve Štiri koncertne miniature za violino in klavir ostale prezrte. Skladbe so muzikalno izjemno zanimive in tvorijo daljši ter s premišljenim vsebinskim lokom zaokroženi ciklus, sestavljen iz stavkov Tendresse (Nežnost), L’Aveu (Priznanje), Le Départ (Odhod) in Désir ardent (Hrepenenje). V izrazito spevnih in ekspresivnih miniaturah je skladatelju skozi violinsko kantileno uspelo ujeti čustveno razpoloženje ljubezenskih doživetij. V teh izrazito liričnih skladbah se je izpovedno izrazil v svojem značilnem melodičnem slogu. Pričujoča izdaja zapolnjuje vrzel v poznavanju tega v Celju delujočega skladatelja in bogati violinski repertoar tudi na zahtevnejši stopnji.

    Description: The volume Historični seminar 14 ('Historical Seminar 14'), issued in the time of transformed reality of what we knew and took for granted, draws attention to the fact that the image we cultivate of ourselves and our history may sometimes be too simplified to be entirely real. At first, the volume both revises already known chapters of Church history and introduces hitherto unknown ones. Simon Malmenvall’s analysis of the characters of the noble martyrs Boris and Gleb, Jovan Vladimir, and Magnus Erlendsson shows how the stories of their martyrdom had a nation-building function. Celeste McNamara’s article on Giovanni Barbarigo introduces the unusual and less well-known topic of seventeenth-century missions. Monika Deželak Trojar analyzes in detail Johann Ludwig Schönleben’s German and Latin Lenten sermons. Aleš Maver’s article discusses why Latin disappeared so quickly from Slovenian churches after the Second Vatican Council. On the other hand, the pre-modern religious practices of nature worshippers in Slovenia are discussed by Cirila Toplak. Modern times and also more political issues are examined by Tomaž Ivešić who focuses on the increase in ethnic tensions in Yugoslavia in the early 1970s, while Aleksandar Takovski traces the historical representation of heroic figures in four former Yugoslav countries.
    Description: Historični seminar 14 prihaja v nenavadnem času, ko se svet spreminja pred našimi očmi. Da bi bolje razumeli sedanjost, je treba (na novo) ovrednotiti tudi preteklost in sedem zanimivih člankov domačih in tujih raziskovalcev, ki so bili najprej predstavljeni v ciklu predavanj Historični seminar na ZRC SAZU, zgodovino prikazuje v novi luči. Cirila Toplak se je posvetila naravovercem, zanimivi marginalni skupnosti na območju zahodne Slovenije, ki izkazuje predkrščanske in predmoderne kulturne prvine. Tomaž Ivešić je pisal o zaostrovanju nacionalnega vprašanja v Jugoslaviji v začetku sedemdesetih let, Aleksander Takovski pa o arhetipskih junakih in zlobnežih v Sloveniji, Hrvaški, Makedoniji in Srbiji.

    Description: The volume Historični seminar 13 ('Historical Seminar 13') offers a selection of articles that have been “filtered” through the cycle of lectures over the past two years. These articles were written by ten researchers from Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, and Germany. Historični seminar 13 continues to examine its origin in the humanities by looking at history and describing the past, with perspectives that are also directed toward other disciplines: geography, comparative literature, ethnomusicology, and cultural anthropology. However, it always maintains a critical distance, which is emphasized in various ways because many of the articles question previous assumptions of past studies and their subjective points of departure. In this manner, this volume makes an important contribution to critical thought about scholarship in general and about the future tasks of the humanities and the social sciences. At the same time, it adds an increasingly current ethical touch to much of its material. Historični seminar 13 is freely available online.
    Description: Historični seminar 13 prinaša izbor devetih razprav, ki jih je prispevalo deset slovenskih, avstrijskih, hrvaških in nemških strokovnjakov. V interdisciplinarnem prepletu humanističnih in družboslovnih ved izstopajo različni pogledi na zgodovino, v motrenje tega, kar je bilo, s pogledi, usmerjenimi tudi v geografijo, komparativistiko, etnomuzikologijo, kulturno antropologijo. A nikakor ne brez kritične distance, ki je v pričujoči monografiji na različne načine še posebej poudarjena, saj številni članki preizprašujejo predpostavke do sedaj že opravljenih raziskav in nujno subjektivna izhodišča, ki posameznike vodijo pri njihovih ugotovitvah (in jih seveda najdemo povsod, le da so v humanističnih vedah morda še bolj na očeh). Na ta način Historični seminar 13 lahko pomembno prispeva h kritični misli o znanosti ter o prihodnjih nalogah humanistike in družboslovja, obenem pa marsikateri vsebini dodaja tudi vse bolj aktualno etično noto. Monografija, ki jo bo v roke z veseljem vzel marsikateri bralec, je prosto dostopna tudi na spletu.

Jure Volčjak predstavlja intrige in procese po smrti ljubljanskega škofa grofa Attemsa sredi 18. stoletja, v katerih so poskusi Dunaja, da bi ljubljansko škofijo in goriško nadškofijo združil v personalno unijo, spodleteli. Lilijana Žnidaršič Golec na podlagi pričevanj župljanov župnije Ig iz leta 1782 osvetljuje tedanjo cerkveno vernost, odnose med ljudmi in problematiko t. i. poznega janzenizma. Irena Selišnik piše o novih političnih praksah na prelomu iz 19. v 20. stoletje, za katere je značilen pojav množičnih političnih strank. Prispevek Gentiane Kera analizira povezavo med porokami, vodenjem gospodinjstev in demografskimi težavami, ki so vplivale na nastanek in strukturo gospodinjstev v Tirani. Mojca Žagar Karer analizira razlike med terminološkimi slovarji, leksikoni in enciklopedijami. Anja Benko pregledno predstavi razvoj in stanje slovenske narečne leksikografije ter predlaga model za izdelavo narečnega slikovnega slovarja. Silvo Torkar pa piše o slovenskih zemljepisnih imenih, ki so tvorjena iz slovanskih antroponimov.

    Description: This is a very dull book. Like a dictionary, it contains only facts: facts that are not readily to be found elsewhere. People who are important in the study of caves and karst are known for what they did, what they wrote and whom they influenced. But as individuals they are often no more than a name. They may perhaps be recognized for other aspects, as a King perhaps, or a novelist or a famous doctor. Some, like Darwin or Freud, have changed the world in other ways~but very many had only normal quiet lives during which they also explored, studied or wrote about caves. It is they whose wider lives are difficult to trace and it is 4634 of them who are recorded here, with information from birth certificates, obituaries, unpublished letters and mentions by other people. It is their wider lives that help to show them as real people. In some cases their interest in caves was a part of their professional lives. In many others it provides stimulation and relaxation in otherwise busy lives. But in every case it was the same person and the same brain that enjoyed both~and it was both that made them the people they were. It is only from the biographical sources recorded here, that each person can be understood.

Ljudje, ki so pomembni za preučevanje jam in krasa, so znani po tem, kaj so počeli, kaj so napisali in na koga so vplivali. Toda večkrat o njih poznamo zgolj ime. Morda o nekaterih vemo tudi kaj več, med njimi so kralji, romanopisci ali zdravniki. Nekateri, denimo Darwin ali Freud, so svet celo spremenili, toda večinoma so imeli le neizstopajoče normalno življenje, med katerim so tudi raziskovali, preučevali ali pisali o jamah. To so tista življenja, o katerih je težko najti kaj več. V knjigi je 4634 gesel, ki vsebujejo podatke iz rojstnih listov, osmrtnic, neobjavljenih pisem in omembe drugih ljudi. Šele ta širši pogled iz njih naredi prave ljudi. V nekaterih primerih je bilo njihovo zanimanje za jame del njihovega poklicnega življenja. V mnogih drugih le spodbuda in sprostitev v sicer napornem življenju. Toda v vsakem primeru so ista oseba in isti možgani uživali oboje~in oboje ju je osebnostno izoblikovalo. Razumemo jih lahko le s pomočjo tukaj zbranih bibliografskih virov.

    Description: The present volume of proceedings represents the first Slovenian book uniting well-nigh all the humanistic disciplines in a common task: to reflect on the role of scholarly editions in their own field. Moreover, it is the first to reflect systematically on the methodological and ecdotic issues of scholarly editions in the light of the possibilities opening with the electronic presentation of texts. While some humanistic disciplines in Slovenia boast a long tradition of scholarly editions, reaching back to the first half of the 19th century, others have begun to consolidate their editorial standards fairly recently.

    Description: Molnik is a hill in the hinterland of Ljubljana in central Slovenia that has been known as an archaeological site for quite some time. Systematic investigations ensued in the 1980s and 1990s, led by Ivan Puš, then curator in the Mestni muzej Ljubljana. They revealed ramparts and habitation terraces on the summit of the hill, as well as flat and tumulus graves on five locations around the summit that date to the Early Iron Age and some finds from later periods.

    Description: A good knowledge of the natural and cultural heritage of karst is a precondition for the rational planning of life on it. We try to organize the knowledge to make it as useful as possible for planners. We are involved in individual projects related to the regional planning, water supply systems, the construction of transportation infrastructure, the closure of landfills in karst areas, the collection of data on karst caves and their protection, karst ecology and determining the extent of human influence on the karst underground. A new book series Karstology and development challenges on karst was designed to present the results of completed and new projects to a broader public.The first book with the subtitle Water contains selected directly applicable research studies on karst waters, their characteristics, endangerment, and protection. It is composed of ten chapters, which can be grouped into three main themes. In the introduction the importance, characteristics and vulnerability of karst aquifers are presented,then various case studies of pollution and endangerment are described (traffic, landfills, military objects, flooding), and at the end some guidelines for the protection of karst water sources are summarized. The book is a bilingual publication in Slovene and English. It is aimed at a broad circle of users, researchers, students and planners.
    Description: Dobro poznavanje naravne in kulturne dediščine krasa je pogoj za smiselno načrtovanje življenja na njem. Pridobljeno temeljno znanje skušamo krasoslovci urediti tako, da je kar čimbolj uporabno tudi načrtovalcem. Vključeni smo v posamezne projekte regionalnega načrtovanja, oskrbe z vodo, gradnje prometnic, zapiranja odlagališč na krasu, zbiranja podatkov o kraških jamah in njihovega varovanja, kraške ekologije in ugotavljanja človekovega vpliva na kras. Za predstavitev svežih izsledkov širši javnosti smo oblikovali serijo Krasoslovje v razvojnih izzivih na krasu. V prvi knjigi s podnaslovom Voda smo združili izbrane neposredno uporabne študije o kraških vodah, njihovih značilnostih, ogroženosti in varovanju. Sestavljena je iz desetih poglavij, ki jih lahko razdelimo v tri sklope. V uvodu so predstavljeni pomen, značilnosti in ranljivost kraških vodonosnikov, sledijo različni primeri ogroženosti kraških vod (prometnice, odlagališča odpadkov, vojaški objekti, poplave), na koncu pa je zbranih še nekaj smernic za varovanje kraških vodnih virov.

Together with notes on the circumstances of find and contents of graves, they represent a valuable source for the study of social structure and differentiation, as well as cultural identity.
    Description: Magdalenska gora pri Šmarju-Sapu na Dolenjskem predstavlja eno najpomembnejših arheoloških najdišč iz starejše železne dobe v jugovzhodnih Alpah. Najdbe in grobni sestavi iz tamkajšnjih gomilnih grobišč, ki jih hranijo muzeji v raznih državah (Narodni muzej Slovenije, Naturhistorisches Museum na Dunaju, Peabody Museum pri Harvardski univerzi v Cambridgeu v ZDA), ponujajo dober uvid v kulturne in družbene procese tistega časa. Skupaj s podatki o kontekstih so dragoceni vir za ugotavljanje družbene strukture in diferenciacije ter kulturne identitete.V knjigi so podrobneje razčlenjeni zasnova in širjenje grobišč, sestav pokopov v gomilah, oprave pokojnikov in grobni pridatki, ki govorijo o spremembah noše in grobnih ritualov v petstoletnem obdobju, o prežitkih starejše lokalne tradicije, o stiki z drugimi skupnostmi, o vpetosti v blagovno-menjalne tokove med Apeninskim polotokom, Alpami in zahodno Panonijo.V zaključnih poglavjih so orisani nastanek in dinamika razvoja te skupnosti, njen položaj in vloga v dolenjski poselitveni mreži in osvetljena vprašanja družbene organiziranosti, rodovne in vojaške hierarhije ter kultno-religiozne sfere.

    Introduction to the Dinaric Karst (2022)

    Description: Dinaric karst is expansive, 800 km long and up to 150 km wide area of karst, which extends over majority of Dinaric mountains and therefore also over the southwestern part of Slovenia. Dinaric karst is an important karst area with remarkable caves, big sinking streams and abundant karst springs. Well-expresed karst phenomena of Dinaric karst lead to early descriptions and karstological investigations. During the 19th century, a term karst was for the first time used for description of specific area without a superficial drainage system. Some Slavic words for relief forms (doline, polje, uvala, ponor) became world-wide terms. Dinaric karst is also a place of first descriptions of troglobionts. In spite of many other karst areas investigated all over the world Dinaric karst still remains one of the most important karst areas. Dinaric karst is locus tipicus of many features and phenomena. It is place of deep scientific investigation and also the place, where karstologists from all over the globe meet together.     Description: The routes between the north Adriatic and the Apennine peninsula on the west and the Balkans and the central Danubian plains on the east ran across Razdrto ever since ancient times. In the late prehistory and in the early Roman era the pass of Razdrto was known under the name of Ocra as was the mountain above it.Several Bronze age sites were discovered in the area of the Razdrto pass.The posts in the Razdrto area from the end of the 2nd and first half of the 1st century BC (Mandrga, Preval) differ from the other sites along the east Alpine routes, as they were not spatially linked to any of the existing indigenous settlements and did not show any contact with the surroundings even with their small objects. Most of the remains can be explained as traces of Roman passengers who stopped at Razdrto for a shorter period of time and not as remnants of a significant Roman settlement.A gravel covered road was constructed across the Razdrto pass in the second half of the 1st century BC or in the Augustan period. A roadside building was erected in the middle or late Augustan period and demolished in the mid 1st century AD.The shift of transit from Razdrto to Hrušica (Ad Pirum) took place in the 1st century AD. Post 1st century AD written sources no longer mention the road across Ocra, and the archaeological remains dating after the mid 1st century AD are extremely modest at Razdrto.
    Description: Delo prinaša temeljno objavo in analizo arheoloških najdišč, ki so bila na območju Razdrtega odkrita in raziskana ob gradnji avtoceste leta 1989. Zaključek pa predstavlja rimske poti čez jugovzhodne Alpe in širši pomen arheoloških najdišč na Razdrtem.

    Description: With notary books we are not dealing with literary readings, but with abstracts of a mass of business manuscript agreements of various contents. The subject of this publication is the preserved parts of the third, ninth, and tenth notary fascicles from the Piran Branch Office of the Regional Archives of Koper. The fragments contain the models of documents created in the period 1284–1296. The authors of summaries in the preserved fragments of notary fascicles are Facina Grimaldi, Facina (Vitali?) and Francisscus de Malonbris.
    Description: Šesti zvezek piranskih notarskih knjig prinaša znanstveno-kritično objavo ohranjenih fragmentov treh notarskih knjig iz edinstvenega gradiva piranske izpostave Pokrajinskega arhiva Koper. Gre za dele tretje, devete in desete knjige. Prvi vsebuje 255, drugi 22 in tretji 422 skrčenih latinskih predlog notarskih listin iz razdobja 1284 do 1296. Vpisi v notarskih knjigah so pestrih vsebin in slikajo gospodarsko, družbeno in vsakdanje življenje v Piranu in okolici, nudijo podatke o prebivalstvu, njegovi etnični pripadnosti, o historični topografiji, pravni praksi itd. Kulturna dediščina notarskih knjig vpenja slovensko primorje v širši mediteranski prostor, ki ga je odlikovala praksa vodenja notarskih kodeksov. Objava vsebuje uvodno študijo, prepise izvirnikov, ki so opremljeni z datacijami, oznakami vsebin in opombami, ter imenski, pojmovni seznam in seznam vsebin vpisov. Ta pomagala olajšujejo uporabniku razumevanje in orientacijo v latinskem delu besedila. Uvodna študija, pojasnila k prepisom ter seznama pojmov in vsebin so – v želji spodbuditi širši krog uporabnikov k raziskavam preteklosti severozahodne Istre – prevedeni tudi v angleščino.

    Description: Glavnina knjige je faksimile rokopisa, ki ga je leta 1856 napisal angleški duhovnik John Oliver po svojem obisku Postojnske jame v letih 1837 in 1852. Kljub temu v knjigi piše le malo o svojih izkušnjah, saj je večji del knjige prevod Schnaffenrathovega vodnika Beschreibung der berühmten Grotte bei Adelsberg in Krain iz leta 1834 v angleščino. Več Oliverjevih pripomb je v posebnem dodatku, ki vsebuje nekaj njegovih osebnih opažanj, kot tudi opis obiska Vilenice. Celota je ilustrirana s slikami iz takratnih knjig, kot tudi z nekaterimi njegovimi izvirnimi slikami in risbami. Daljši uvod Trevorja Shawa, ki je odkril ta dragocen, vrsto let domnevno izgubljen rokopis, razkrije, kdo je bil avtor »J. O.« in obrazloži pomen prevedenega vodnika iz leta 1834, kot tudi njegov vpliv na kasnejše vodnike po Krasu.

    Description: The in depth archaeological research of High Medieval castle presented in this book is unique in Slovenia and among just few in this part of Central Europe. The book is based on analysis of the archaeological data gathered in more than a decade of archaeological excavations in 1980s and 1990s.In the introductory chapter written sources and interpretative models are presented. The analysis of pictorial representations follows. The focus of the research is on the archaeological sources, though. Above all the analysis of the small finds, stratigraphy and spatial analysis of the castle itself and the castle in the landscape should be mentioned.
    Description: Knjiga je prva znanstvena monografija o arheologiji visoko srednjeveškega gradu v Sloveniji in se uvršča med le peščico tovrstnih knjig v širšem prostoru. Monografija sloni predvsem na analizi podatkov iz desetletja arheoloških izkopavanj v 80. in 90. letih 20. stoletja. V začetnem delu so predstavljeni pisni viri in interpretativni modeli v zvezi z nastankom in pomenom gradu. Sledi prikaz maloštevilnih, a nikakor ne nepomembnih slikovnih virov. Glavnino študije predstavljajo arheološki viri, predvsem priročniško uporabna tipokronološka analiza artefaktov, stratigrafija najdišča in prostorska analiza gradu.

    Description: The book presents a wealth of historical cartographic representations of Slovenian territory. It is divided into two main parts. The first or the text part briefly presents the history of European cartography up to the end of the nineteenth century, maps of the Slovenian territory up to the early twentieth century and maps as cultural heritage. In the second or cartographic part, in turn, features important historical maps of the Slovenian territory presented in chronological order. The format of the book enables an excellent presentation of the presented maps. The maps presented date from the mid-sixteenth century, when the first independent maps of present-day Slovenia were produced, to the beginning of the twentieth century, when cartography developed into a modern discipline. The aim of this book is to present the extensive Slovenian cartographic heritage.
    Description: Monografija predstavlja bogastvo zgodovinskih kartografskih upodobitev slovenskega ozemlja. Razdeljena je na besedilni in slikovni del. V besedilnem delu so predstavljeni zgodovina evropske kartografije do konca 19. stoletja, kartografski prikazi slovenskega ozemlja do začetka 20. stoletja ter zemljevidi kot kulturna dediščina.     Description: Most na Soči ranks among the most prominent prehistoric sites in Europe. It is mainly known for the extensive cemetery from the Early Iron Age, which was first investigated in the late 19th century and revealed over 6000 burials. The rapid growth of the modern village of Most na Soči again led to large-scale archaeological excavations in the 1970s. These were conducted in the span of eleven years and unearthed one of the most significant Iron Age settlements in Slovenia and the wider south-eastern Alpine region.
    Description: Most na Soči sodi med najpomembnejša prazgodovinska najdišča Evrope. Znano je postalo zlasti po veliki nekropoli iz starejše železne dobe, ki so jo raziskovali ob koncu devetnajstega stoletja in na kateri so izkopali čez 6000 grobov.Hiter razvoj kraja je v sedemdesetih letih prejšnjega stoletja vzpodbudil ponovna arheološka izkopavanja. Trajala so enajst let, v tem času pa je bilo na območju današnje vasi temeljito raziskano eno najpomembnejših železnodobnih naselij ne le pri nas temveč tudi na širšem jugovzhodnoalpskem prostoru.Na začetku monografije je podan geografski oris kraja, temu pa sledi izčrpna zgodovina raziskovanj, ki ji je dodan seznam dosedanjih objav.V osrednjem delu knjige so predstavljeni gradbeni izvidi šestintridesetih hiš, ki so bile odkrite v vzhodnem predelu današnjega Mosta na Soči.Besedilo spremlja 229 načrtov in fotografij, ki odlično dopolnjujejo detajlne opise objektov.V zadnjem delu monografije je na sto tablah predstavljeno drobno gradivo, ki je bilo najdeno v stavbah.

This monograph provides an overview and introduction to the collections which found their origin in the First World War and which are amongst the earliest systematic aerial collections. Along the Western Front from the end of 1915 onwards, aerial photo-reconnaissance units were sent out to record the outline of the enemy’s defences. The photographs were produced by an almost industrial process, brought together over four years, and survive in large quantities~archival collections are spread out across Europe, the United States and even Australia. The most important and interesting collections are discussed and dealt with, with a focus on their content, quantity, and geographic distribution.

    Middle Miocene Calcareous Nannoplankton of NE Slovenia (Western Central Paratethys) (2022)

    Description: The monograph presents Badenian calcareous nannoplankton from NE Slovenia. Several hundred samples from 22 measured sections have been studied. In total, 109 species of calcareous nannoplankton are determined and described, many of which are new to Slovenia. The entire interval studied was assigned to the Middle Miocene. The excellent preservation and high species diversity enabled a precise subdivision of this interval into 6 successive interval zones, correlated with the absolute time scale (15.5 – 13.1 Ma) and with the 3rd order eustatic cycles (TB2.3, TB2.4 and TB2.5). Lists of all examined nannoplankton assemblages and their paleoecological analyses are also included. The monograph is a comprehensive review of the taxonomy, biostratigraphy and paleoecology of Miocene calcareous nannoplankton in the western part of the Central Paratethys.
    Description: Monografija predstavlja rezultate celovite študije kalcitnega nanoplanktona iz badenijskih plasti Slovenskih goric. Iz več sto vzorcev z 22 posnetih profilov je določenih in opisanih 109 vrst nanofosilov, mnoge med njimi so nove za Slovenijo. Preučevani interval je v celoti uvrščen v srednji miocen. Odlična ohranjenost nanofosilov in velika diverziteta sta omogočili zelo natančno razdelitev obravnavanega intervala na 6 lokalnih intervalnih con, ki so korelirane z absolutno časovno lestvico (15,5–13,1 milijonov let) ter z globalnimi evstatičnimi cikli 3. reda (TB2.3, TB2.4 in TB2.5). Monografija vsebuje tudi podatke o sestavi vseh obravnavanih nanoplanktonskih združb in podaja paleoekološko analizo. Monografija je izčrpen prikaz taksonomije, biostratigrafije in paleoekologije miocenskega kalcitnega nanoplanktona v zahodnem delu Centralne Paratetide.

    Description: The papers contained in this booklet were presented at the transnational conference “Employment/Working Conditions, Occupational Safety and Health of Posted Workers” in Ljubljana, Slovenia (15 February 2017). The conference brought together experts (researchers and practitioners) from several European countries to discuss the existing and new challenges related to OSH (occupational safety and health), labour, and working conditions of posted workers. The conference served as the launch event of the POOSH project, financed by the European Comission (Programme EaSI PROGRESS) and led by Dr. Kristina Toplak from the Slovenian Migration Institute at ZRC SAZU. The booklet is covering the topic of the OSH of posted workers from several angles. The first part is framed around contributions given by researchers working in the field of labor mobility, with the focus on the occupational safety and health of posted workers. The second part contains contributions from practitioners working in NGOs, trade unions or Ministries of Labour who presented their work as well as discussed national and transnational legislations related to the OSH of posted workers.

Drugi del vsebuje prispevke strokovnjakov, predvsem predstavnikov nevladnih organizacijah, sindikatov ali ministerstev, ki so v prispevkih predstavili svoje delo in razpravljali o nacionalnih in nadnacionalnih zakonodajah, ki se nanašajo na napotene delavce ter na področje varnosti in zdravja pri delu.

    Description: Izsledki raziskave slovenskega oblačilnega izrazja v Kanalski dolini, ki je v sodelovanju s Slovenskim kulturnim središčem Planika Kanalska dolina potekala v letih 2003–2007, so v monografiji urejeni v trijezični (slovensko-italijansko-nemški) konkordančni izrazijski slovar. Začetna, slovensko-italijanska razdelka vsebujeta prepis narečnega besedila Oblačila naših dedkov in babic glavne informantke Marie Moschitz, obogaten s slikovnim gradivom, in slovarski uvod s predstavitvijo raziskave, prikazom sestave gesel ter seznamom kratic in krajšav. Slovar v celoti temelji na prepisih posnetkov narečnih besedil, urejenih v podatkovno zbirko. Lažje iskanje po slovarju (tudi več- in drugojezičnim uporabnikom) omogočajo knjižnoslovensko-narečni, italijansko-slovenskonarečni in nemško-slovenskonarečni seznam.

    Description: E.A. Martel (1859-1938) is rightly regarded as one of the most important people in the history of cave study. Writing in French, as he did, his work was little known in those parts of central Europe that were in the Austrian empire. Thus much of what he wrote about the Classical Karst was not readily accessible to those now living in that area. It is for that reason that this English translation of his 1894 publication has been made. Martel had been in Slovenia from 14 September 1893 to mid October. He was shown the principal caves and karst features of the region by Wilhelm Putick who had been exploring these places from 1886 onwards. This assistance had been authorised by Count Falkenhayn, the Minister of Agriculture in Wien. Such was the importance with which Martel was regarded internationally.

    Description: The monograph presents the results of two-year excavations (1982 and 1983) on the late-antique fortified hilltop settlement Korinjski hrib above Veliki Korini in Suha Krajina, where the remains of five defence towers and an early Christian church were explored. The settlement was initially recognized as a military post and as such represented an exception in the Eastern Alpine area. Such a definition raised some doubts and dilemmas. These dilemmas are presented - in addition to geographical outline and research history - in the Introduction.The following set presents - in text and with abundant graphic material – field reports of excavations of towers, the church, and a small cemetery.All groups of finds (non-pottery, pottery and coins) and anthropological and archaeological studies are also presented.An extensive chapter is devoted to the interpretation of architectural remains (towers, church, the fort as a whole).The conclusion also discusses the prehistoric settlement, and the results of structural survey of the ruins of church of St George just below the fort.
    Description: V monografiji so predstavljeni rezultati dveletnih izkopavanj (1982 in 1983) na utrjeni poznoantični višinski naselbini Korinjski hrib nad Velikim Korinjem v Suhi Krajini, kjer so bili raziskani ostanki petih obrambnih stolpov in zgodnjekrščanske cerkve. Naselbina je bila že v začetku prepoznana kot vojaška postojanka in je kot taka predstavljala izjemo v vzhodnoalpskem prostoru. Taka opredelitev je zato vzbudila tudi nekatere dvome o njeni pravilnosti. Omenjene dileme so − poleg geografskega orisa in zgodovine raziskav − predstavljene v uvodnem delu. Sledi obsežen sklop, ki v tekstu in z bogatim slikovnim gradivom predstavi terenske izvide izkopavanj stolpov, cerkve in pripadajočega manjšega grobišča.Obsežno poglavje je posvečeno interpretaciji arhitekturnih ostankov (stolpi, cerkev, utrdba kot celota). V zakjučku je obravnavana še prazgodovinska poselitev ter rezultati strukturnega pregleda danes porušene cerkvice sv. Jurija tik pod utrdbo.

    Description: Knjiga Inovativne politike za alpska mesta predstavlja rezultate projekta CAPACities, v katerem smo preučevali vlogo mest v alpskem svetu. Pri tem smo se osredotočili na definicijo malih alpskih mest, njihovo vpetost v policentrični razvojni koncept, bistveni poudarek pa je bil na njihovi konkurenčnosti in privlačnosti. Teoretske podlage smo nadgradili z analizo razpoložljivih podatkov, še pomembnejše pa so bile aktivnosti v pilotnih območjih, s katerimi smo skušali ugotovitve prenašati v prakso. Predstavljene specifike pilotnih območij in tam izvedene aktivnosti so nam bile v pomoč pri izdelavi smernic in orodij za spodbujanje razvoja malih alpskih mest.

    Description: Presented are seven folktales from Resia in northern Italy with a strong Slovene minority. On CD are presented narratives which have been recorded on magnetic tape by Academician Milko Matičetov. Translations from the Resian dialect in Slovene and in Italian language are published in accompanying book. One folk tale was recently recorded by Roberto Dapit in the Resian village of Lischiazze/Liščaci, and has been included in the collection to illustrate contemporary Resian narrative tradition. The tales recorded on the compact disk represent four different language groups of the Resian dialect, namely that of Stolvizza/Solbica, Oseacco/Osojane, San Giorgio/Bila, and Gniva/Njiva. This work was done within the project Zborzbirk.
    Description: Predstavljenih je sedem rezijanskih pravljic: na zgoščenki v govorjeni besedi po magnetofonskih posnetkih akademika Milka Matičetovega, v knjigi pa v slovenskem in italijanskem prevodu. Eno izmed pravljic je nedavno posnel Roberto Dapit v Liščacih v Reziji (Italija), in je vključena v ta izbor zato, da bi pokazali, kako ljudsko pripovedništvo v Reziji še naprej živi. Pravljice, ki jih lahko poslušamo na tej zgoščenki, so bile zbrane iz arhivskih posnetkov in pripovedovane v vseh glavnih rezijanskih jezikovnih področjih oz. predstavljajo štiri različne govorne skupine rezijanskega narečja območij Solbice, Osojan, Bile in Njive. Delo je nastalo v okviru bilateralnega projekta ZBORZBIRK Kulturna dediščina v zbirkah med Alpami in Krasom.

    Claiming the Aboriginal Body in Tasmania (2022)

    Description: How do contemporary Tasmanian Aboriginals think of the body? How do they think of the dead body and of their human remains? This work examines the intersection of different cultural, biological and legal concepts of authenticity and belonging as these concepts come into focus as the stake of disputes over Aboriginal remains. In claiming remains, Tasmanians engage a complex set of discursive practices in which the aboriginal body is denoted, performed and negotiated in various ways as the sign of ancestral rights. Petrović-Šteger attends particularly to the language in which Tasmanian human remains are accounted for, appropriated and resignified in the context of the British policy on repatriation. Her work examines naturalist interpretations of both Tasmanian Aboriginal and Western ideas of biology, ancestry and kinship. Attending to a number of recalcitrant concepts—including those of the authority of science, purity of indigenous peoples and exclusive rights of descendants—Petrović-Šteger considers questions arising from contemporary data collection processes as they image and measure remains, and subject them to DNA and isotopic analysis. The collection also broaches the question of how contemporary understandings of Tasmanian indigeneity and ancestral rights are constituted and promoted through the use of various scientific, museological and representational technologies.

    Description: The work is a critical edition of the preserved fragments of five notary codices from Piran (1289–1305) with notes made by the notary Dominicus Petenarius. Notaries entered into notary codices the essential features of business transactions in stenographic form, specific writing and simple Latin. This is a valuable type of sources for the study of medieval and later history. The entries portray the economic and social life of cities and their surroundings, their administration, judicial system, everyday life, population development, urban image, as well as culture and arts, all of which serve the purposes of research conducted by experts in various fields. The edition is equipped with a standard critical apparatus and an accompanying study which is also translated into English. The main part of the text encompasses the transliteration of the manuscript comprising 518 agreements with different contents. Each is marked with a successive number, defined with regard to its content and dated. The specific features of the original and inconsistencies in writing are described in notes. The work comes with an index of names, a subject index and a list of entries in which each entry is marked with the original annotation of the page in the original, date, type of contents, short summary of the contents and the page in the publication.

Fragmenti petih notarskih sešitkov, ki so predmet znanstvenokritične objave, vsebujejo kratke povzetke poslovnih dogovorov Pirančanov v poldrugem desetletju pred sedmimi stoletji.     Description: Modern science started studying the Smlednik Castle over a century and a half ago. However, what might be even more important is the fact that more or less intense conservation works have been carried out at this location for over half a century. Regardless of this there is almost no expert literature on the castle to be found: short papers can be counted on the fingers of one hand, while monograph publications are sought in vain. The situation regarding contributions that promotes cultural heritage is somewhat better. The purpose of the book in front of you is thus clear: to present the history of the research and conservation efforts as well as the findings gained from the latest research in one book.This is the English translation of the original publication in Slovenian Grad Smlednik. Raziskave 2011-2012 published in 2013 as the second issue of the series Monografije CPA. The translation differs from the original in two ways. First, it omits the appendices. Secondly, a chapter on 3D scanning of the Smlednik Castle in 2007 including interactive 3D model is added.

    Epikarst – A Promising habitat (2022)

    Description: The book represents a detailed study of the fauna of drips and drip pools in six caves in Slovenia. Drips and drip pools are important because they are just about the only way of assessing the epikarst community. Using a special sampling device, it was possible to sample individual drips for extended periods of time. A total of 37 species of copepods were found in drips and drip pools. Significant differences in the fauna between drips and pools, presumably because of differential survival and reproduction in pools were found. Somewhat surprisingly it was found that the kind of pool, e.g., mud-bottomed compared to calcite bottomed, made little difference.
    Description: Monografija Epikarst - a promising habitat (Epikras - obetajoči habitat) je rezultat večletnega sistematičnega proučevanja podzemeljske favne Dinarskega krasa.     Description: The hill of Panorama in Ptuj is one of the most important areas of Roman Poetovio. Chance finds and small-scale excavations in the past centuries have revealed the existence of significant archaeological remains that included buildings with numerous rooms and objects dedicated to a variety of deities, the remains of a sanctuary dedicated to the Nutrices, an Early Christian church, an aqueduct and a cemetery. The geophysical investigations have revealed the urban design with a rectilinear grid of streets and building plots.The first few chapters of the book present the history of archaeological research on Panorama, the analytical approaches and the geophysical investigations with the methods employed and the final results. The main chapters correlate the archaeological data of differing quality and nature (chance finds, rescue excavations, old and modern archaeological investigations, geophysical surveys) and locate them with a series of plans. The comprehensive overview is supported by a Catalogue of stone monuments that presents the basic data, descriptions, bibliography, commentary and photographs of the stone objects recovered on Panorama.

V knjigi je združeno dozdajšnje vedenje o Panorami, hkrati gre za nadaljevanje sistematične predstavitve arheoloških najdišč Ptuja. Uvodna poglavja prinašajo zgodovino arheoloških raziskav, izhodišča analize in potek geofizikalnih raziskav z uporabljenimi metodami ter glavnimi rezultati. V osrednjih poglavjih smo povezali arheološke podatke različne kakovosti (naključne najdbe, zaščitna izkopavanja, stara in moderna arheološka raziskovanja, geofizikalne preglede) in jih umestili v prostor s pomočjo številnih načrtov. Celovito sliko dopolnjuje dodatek – Katalog kamnitih spomenikov z osnovnimi podatki, opisi, literaturo, komentarjem in fotografijami.

    Jama Velika Pasica = The Cave Velika Pasica (2022)

    Description: This bilingual scientific monograph with many illustrations presents the Velika Pasica cave, located on the outskirts of the Gornji Ig village on the Krim massif, around 20 km south of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The book presents ecological, taxonomical and biodiversity studies, as well as morphological and historical facts referring to the cave. The cave is small for Slovenian standards, as it is only 105 metres long. On the basis of the specimens collected in the cave, 13 new species from terrestrial and aquatic habitats have been described so far. A considerable number, even on the global scale. The cave was first renowned for the rare cave-dwelling beetles, snails as well as other species. In 2000, a rich community of aquatic animals was discovered, which were not expected to be present there. Since 2006, there have been regular measurements of ecological parameters as well as sampling of fauna from four permanent drips. Fauna was washed-out from a thin layer of dolomite, from which the cave roof consists. The measurements include water and air temperature as well as discharge, measured in one hour intervals. Furthermore, 88 analyses of drip water and an equal number of fauna sampling were conducted. The measurements in the cave were being conducted simultaneously with the measurements of the meteorological parameters on the surface, in the immediate vicinity of the cave entrance.
    Description: Dvojezična, bogato ilustrirana znanstvena monografija je prikaz jame Velika Pasica na Gornjem Igu, na pobočju Krima. V knjigi so poleg nekaterih morfoloških in zgodovinsko zanimivih podrobnosti predstavljene zlasti ekološke, taksonomske in biodiverzitetne študije. Jama je za slovenske razmere majhna, saj je dolga le 105 m. Na podlagi primerkov iz te jame je bilo doslej opisanih kar 13 novih vrst kopenskih in vodnih podzemnih živali, kar je izjemno tudi v svetovnem merilu. Jama je bila najprej poznana kot nahajališče redkih vrst jamskih hroščev in polžev, kasneje pa tudi drugih vrst. Leta 2000 je bila v jami odkrita bogata združba vodnih živali, ki jih tam ne bi pričakovali. Od leta 2006 v jami potekajo redne meritve ekoloških razmer in odvzem bioloških vzorcev iz štirih curkov vode, ki prenikajo iz tanke plasti v jamskem stropu. Meritve obsegajo temperaturo vode in zraka in pretok, in sicer v enournih intervalih, narejenih pa je bilo tudi 88 analiz prenikle vode in bilo odvzeto prav toliko vzorcev vodnih živali. Meritve v jami so potekale vzporedno z meritvami meteoroloških razmer na površju, v neposredni bližini jamskega vhoda.

    Description: The monograph, the first regarding the Mesolithic in Slovenia, presents a discussion of two exceptionally rich sites in the Karst in western Slovenia: Viktorjev spodmol and Mala Triglavca. Viktorjev spodmol is a newly discovered site, where test excavation have only been done, while research is underway at Mala Triglavca already a while.The compilation primarily presents a detailed review of Viktorjev spodmol. Individual chapters address the topic of microlithic tools attributed to the Sauveterrien-Castelovien complex, their typology and relations with other sites from this complex, and with a special emphasis on the chronology and chronological correlations between Mesolithic sites in northern Italy, including the Trieste karst, and western Slovenia. The remaining chapters systematically present rare vegetal remains, the exceptionally rich collections of mollusc's fauna, ectothermic vertebrates and small mammals as well as the remains of large mammals.Mala Triglavca is equally profuse, although it is discussed only summarily in this monograph, and with an emphasis on Mesolithic artefacts. From among these finds, the numerous trapezes are particularly noteworthy, and from among the more rare finds at least the bone whistle and flute. Also noteworthy are the rare human remains discovered at both sites.
    Description: V zborniku, prvem s področja mezolitika v Sloveniji, sta obravnavani dve izjemno bogati najdišči na Krasu v zahodni Sloveniji: Viktorjev spodmol in Mala Triglavca. Viktorjev spodmol je novo odkrito najdišče, kjer so se raziskave komaj začele, v Mali Triglavci pa potekajo že dalj časa. Po veliki gostoti najdb na volumensko enoto, med katerimi izstopajo kamniti artefakti in ostanki različnih živalskih vrst, se najdišči lahko primerjata z vsemi ključnimi mezolitskimi najdišči v Evropi. Podrobno je obdelan predvsem Viktorjev spodmol. Pomembna je primerjava rezultatov različnih terenskih in poterenskih metod, uporabljenih v Mali Triglavci in predvsem v Viktorjevem spodmolu.

    Description: The book of proceedings brings together contributions, submitted to the international conference Mapping the spaces of modernist cities within the context of CIAM's Athens charter, which is result of the applied national project Mapping the Urban Spaces of Slovenian Cities from the Historical Perspective: Modernism in Nova Gorica and its Contexts (L6-8262), financed by the Slovenian Research Agency, Municipality of Nova Gorica and the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The papers critically reflect on the Athens Charter, which established the principles of a functionalist city at the 4th CIAM Congress (Congrès internationaux d'architecture moderne) in 1933. The case studies discuss cities, which were newly built in the 20th century in the Soviet Union, Germany, Italy, the Baltic States, Iran and Slovenia, with Nova Gorica at the forefront.     Description: Is the inside-view into the life of people invisible to the written records possible, then? One cannot simple transfer oneself into the past and observe. However, one can immerse in the same landscape and seek for the residuals of the past in language, place names, folklore, ordering of the landscape and various material remains, or even in younger written records in the form of the so called wirkungsgeschichte (record of younger consequence of an earlier phenomenon). The least one achieves is the role of the passive observer. It is the aim of this book to go even further and to demonstrate that the “inside” perspective is not unattainable~it can be achieved by using a combination of various sources: written sources, archaeology, ethnology, philology and historic geography. The image of early medieval society in the Bled micro-region thus forming reveals the community with tightly economic and political ties. Weather or not it was referred to as Župa Bled is not confirmed by the written sources but it is at least likely.

    Description: The few scholarly treatments of Jewish ethnography and folklore studies in Eastern Europe have focused mostly on the collection of folklore materials. But even when Jewish folklore studies in Eastern Europe were still in their infancy, some scholars and authors made important contributions to the theoretical side of the discipline. This book focuses on these contributions and includes both discussion of these early folklorists and translations of some of their key writings. The pioneers of Jewish ethnography and folkloristics dealt with many areas and genres: folk narrative, folk songs, humor and jokes, beliefs and customs, folk medicine, folk art and material culture, and the interplay between folklore and history and between folklore and literature. Most of the research questions they posed continue to engage scholars today, and answers supplied by them remain relevant today and can serve as building blocks for the future.

    Description: The subject of this publication is a critical edition of the preserved parts of the eleventh, twelfth, fourteenth, and sixteenth notary books from the Piran Branch Office of the Regional Archives of Koper. With notary books we are not dealing with literary readings, but with abstracts of a mass of business manuscript agreements of various contents. The fragments contain the models of documents created in the period 1301–1320 (1321). The writer of summaries in the preserved fragments of notary fascicle No. 11 was Almericus, while the notary Perinus Appolonii kept records of business transactions in codex No. 15. The writers of other fragments are not known.
    Description: Znanstveno-kritična objava fragmentov notarskih knjig enote Piran Pokrajinskega arhiva Koper iz let 1301–1320 /1321/ kot sedmi, zadnji zvezek zaključuje enega od segmentov programa edicij virov za slovensko zgodovino, sprejetega leta 1972. Zajema pet rokopisov: enajstega, dvanajstega, štirinajstega, petnajstega in šestnajstega ter dodatnega neoštevilčenega, ki skupaj beležijo 287 latinskih predlog notarskih listin. Gre za dogovore v zvezi z zadolževanjem, poslovanjem z nepremičninami, za reševanje sporov, sklepanje dogovorov o delu, za ženitne dogovore, številne oporoke itd. Iz zapisov je razvidno gospodarsko, družbeno in vsakdanje življenje v nekdanjem Piranu in njegovi okolici.     Description: In the first part of the Divje babe I monograph, data from the field of the natural sciences is presented, analysed and interpreted. This is primarily stratigraphic, sedimentological and chronological data and data on the remains of flora and fauna. The latter includes detailed analysis of charcoal from a number of hearths and the remains small and large mammals, with a stress on cave bear. The series of absolute ESR datings and the climatogram of the site should be highlighted in particular, which shows the course of temperature and humidity by layers in the chronozone of the Early and Middle Würm or oxygen isotope stages OIS 5 and OIS 3. The remains of flora and fauna from OIS 3 in particular are analysed, which enables new insight into palaeo-environmental and climatic conditions of this poorly known chronological segment in Slovenia and neighbouring regions. Archaeological finds, including Mousterian bone artefacts, will be presented in the planned second part of the monograph.

    Description: Go Girls! When Slovenian Women Left Home is not about researching and writing only about female emigration, some kind of “women’s migration”, but is among other things focused on understanding the complexity, multi-facetedness and of course the multi-gendered aspect of migrations. This can only be done by focusing on a missing but constitutive part of migration processes – the migration of women. Therefore, to “make visible” that which was, as the title of one of the most famous feminist books says, “hidden from history”, or in the words of the best-known Slovenian researcher of “women’s history”, to “write women” into the body of knowledge on migration and into knowledge in general. This “writing of women”, must not be just a matter of supplementing and placing into context previously overlooked events, phenomena, and occurrences, but in fact must be a project of critically sifting through the entire body of migration studies and thereby reproducing gender-determined knowledge.

    Description: The region of Ptuj lies on one of the central traffic axes within the broader margins of the Eastern Alps, and already in the distant past represented an important settlement centre. This monograph incorporates the knowledge hitherto gained abouth settlement history, from the Eneolithic to the Early Middle Ages in the eastern area of Ptuj, in Rabelčja vas. The emphasis is on the Roman Period, when the eastern district of the Roman town of Poetovio was beginning to spread here.Within the area of Rabelčja vas, which comprises nearly one-third of the Roman town of Poetovio, over a period of two centuries more than 160 discoveries and researches have taken place. During the past four decades, extensive rescue excavations have been carried out here, which have revealed numerous prehistorical remains, and also the eastern, crafts quarter of the ancient town, together with the main road and extensive burial sites.
    Description: Na območju Rabelčje vasi, ki zajema slabo tretjino rimskega mesta Petoviona, je bilo v dveh stoletjih več kot 160 arheoloških odkritij in raziskav. V zadnjih štirih desetletjih so tu potekala obsežna zaščitna raziskovanja, ki so razkrila številne prazgodovinske ostanke ter vzhodno, obrtniško četrt antičnega mesta z glavno cesto in razsežnimi grobišči.

    Description: The most topical Middle Paleolithic site in Slovenia is presented in full and discussed in detail in this series. The Divje Babe I cave site became famous for the archaeological discovery of what current investigations indicate could be the oldest flute, made of the bone of a cave bear, yet discovered. The principal part of the compilation is dedicated to a typological, technological, acoustic and musicological discussion of the remarkable find. Individual chapters present the stratigraphy, chronology, fauna and flora from the site, in addition to the Paleolithic material finds (however, only up to the layer including the bone flute). The book incorporates the first abridged and summarized determinations from the current archaeological excavations, which are not yet concluded. In addition to the editor, who is also the author and coauthor of the majority of chapters, the following individuals also provided contributions to the series: G. Bastiani, M. Culiberg, J. Dirjec, B. Kavur, B. Kryštufek, T.-L. Ku, D. Kunej, D. E. Nelson, M. Omrzel-Terlep and A. Šercelj.
    Description: V zborniku je celovito predstavljeno in obdelano trenutno najbolj aktualno srednjepaleolitsko najdišče v Sloveniji. Jamsko najdišče Divje babe I je postalo znano zaradi arheološke najdbe, za katero dosedanje raziskave kažejo, da bi lahko bila najstarejša piščal, izdelana iz kosti jamskega medveda. Osrednji del zbornika je posvečen prav tipološki, tehnološki, akustični in muzikološki obdelavi znamenite najdbe.     Description: The CHERPLAN project (CHERPLAN stands for “Enhancement of Cultural Heritage through Environmental Planning and Management”) aims to provide a strong basis for ensuring compatibility and synergy between cultural heritage conservation and socioeconomic growth by fostering the adoption of a modern environmental planning approach throughout southeast Europe (SEE). Predstavlja osnovni okvir, ki sta ga na tem področju izoblikovala Unesco in ICOMOS, ter usmeritve za dvajset različnih izzivov upravljanja, kjer vsakega pospremimo z uvodom, priporočili in primeri dobrih praks. Knjiga tako zagotavlja praktične informacije za uveljavljanje okoljskega planiranja na območjih s kulturno dediščino v Jugovzhodni Evropi, pri čemer je bil del priporočil pripravljen znotraj pilotnih območij, del pa smo jih prevzeli od drugje. V obeh primerih predstavljajo priporočila in dobre prakse preverjena lokalna znanja, saj so jih v opisanih primerih uspešno uporabili.

The first part is dedicated to the typological and chronological presentation of the Roman glass (1st–5th cent.) from the territory of modern Slovenia~the second one is a presentation and review of local glass production in the Roman period on Slovene territory.
    Description: Monografija prinaša celovit opis razvoja steklarstva na slovenskih tleh od prazgodovine do 5. stoletja. V prvem delu predstavlja tipološko in kronološko ovrednotenje rimskodobnega steklenega gradiva z območja današnje Slovenije, v drugem delu pa obravnava dokaze o lokalni proizvodnji stekla v rimski dobi pri nas. Uvodoma je razložena uporabljena terminologija in steklarske tehnike, ki so jih poznali rimski steklarji ter njihov kronološki okvir. Stekleno gradivo je obravnavano v treh večjih skupinah glede na tehniko izdelave: steklo izdelano v kalupu, steklo pihano v kalup in prosto pihano steklo. Deljeno je v deset skupin glede na namen in uporabo in nato v posamezne različice, opredeljene po posebnostih in raznolikosti izdelave. Vsaka različica je kronološko opredeljena glede na zaključene kronološke celote ali (kjer to ni bilo mogoče) glede na primerjave z gradivom izven Slovenije.

    Description: Miocene sedimentary rocks containing siliceous algae are rare in Slovenia. They have only been discovered in six shorter sections in the Sava basin. Paleontology, stratigraphy, paleoecology, and paleobiogeography of the diatoms, which appear in Slovenian localities, are studied accurately in the monograph. It is possible to deduce from the paleontologic datings of mollusc localities in the Krško basin and from the paleogeographic distribution of certain fossil groups that the connection of the Central Paratethys with the eastern and western Mediterranean also existed in the Late Badenian. On the basis of the geographic distribution of the species Pereiraea gervaisi the author presumes that the connection of the Central Paratethys with the Mediterranean through the Slovenian corridor did not cease in the Middle Badenian but, in fact, persisted up to the end of the Badenian.

    Description: The monograph Drobci ledenodobnega okolja (“Fragments of Ice Age environments”) presents a compilation of seventeen chapters in which experts from different scientific fields discuss specific topics related to the Ice Age in Europe. Ten of them are devoted to the presentation, analysis and interpretation of palaeontological data concerning various large mammal species ranging from mastodon and mammoth to the cave hyena, ibex, cave lion and bears, with the emphasis being placed on the cave bear. Several chapters address the topic of Last Glacial climatic conditions in the Southeastern Alps by studying fossil micromammal and palaeobotanical remains as well as geoarchaeologiocal data. A special article is devoted to a comprehensive review of previous analysis of the bone flute from Divje babe I, but includes also new musicological research findings on the extraordinary technical capabilities of this oldest musical instrument. The concluding chapter presents a study of old manuscripts and printed sources, providing some interesting insights into the discovery of one of the most significant palaeontological sites in Slovenia - the cave of Mokriška jama.The monograph is dedicated to the anniversary of the prominent researcher of the Slovenian Palaeolithic - Ivan Turk. His work, main achievements and selected bibliography are briefly presented in the introductory chapter.

    Description: The present book is volume of conference proceedings of the scientific meeting dedicated to the founder of modern Slovenian musicology, Dragotin Cvetko, and organised by the Institute of Musicology of the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts with the financial support of the Slovenian Research Agency and the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The papers, organised in four linked and intertwining subject sections (Dragotin Cvetko – life and work~Metamorphoses of national music historiographies~European music historiographies – selected chapters~and Musicology – from national towards global) are accompanied in the present volume by some basic facts on Dragotin Cvetko, whose life and works it celebrates, and four addresses in his honour. The book is rounded off by a list of master and doctoral theses supervised by Professor Cvetko and a chronological presentation of events that celebrated in September 2011 the hundredth anniversary of his birth.
    Description: Pričujoče delo je spominski zbornik, v katerem so objavljeni predvsem referati z znanstvenega srečanja, ki ga je v počastitev stote obletnice rojstva akademika, prof. dr. Dragotina Cvetka, utemeljitelja sodobne slovenske muzikologije, priredil Muzikološki inštitut Znanstvenoraziskovalnega centra SAZU ob podpori Agencije za raziskovalno dejavnost in Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti. Poleg referatov, ki so bili predstavljeni v štirih prepletajočih se in vsebinsko povezanih sklopih (o življenju in delu Dragotina Cvetka, o preobrazbah nacionalnih glasbenih historiografij, o vprašanjih evropske glasbene historiografije ter o muzikologiji ter njenem prehajanju od nacionalnega proti globalnemu) so v knjigi objavljeni tudi nekateri osnovni podatki o slavljencu in nekaj prav spominu naj napisanih besedil. Delo zaokrožuje še seznam vseh slavljenčevih magistrandov in doktorandov ter kronološka predstavitev vseh dogodkov, ki so bile Dragotinu Cvetku v septembru 2011 posvečene.

    Description: Glavni cilj knjige je predstaviti način upravljanja s kulturnimi vrednotami v lokalni skupnosti. Večji del knjige predstavlja metodologija, poimenovana »Smernice za upravljanje s kulturnimi vrednotami v ruralnih območjih«, ki so predstavljene v drugem poglavju. Smernice skušajo na praktičen in konkreten način nazorno prikazati vse korake, ki jih mora lokalna skupnost izpolniti, da se začne proces odkrivanja, varovanja in zlasti uporabe lastnih kulturnih vrednot v razvojne namene. Napisane so v obliki navodil, na enostaven in uporabniku prijazen način, ter kot priročnik vodijo bralca: skozi šest korakov od prve ideje do končne uresničitve, ki je lahko nov proizvod ali storitev, izkušnja ali zgodba, osnovana na kulturni vrednoti z razvojnim potencialom.

    Description: The monograph La religiosità popolare in Val Canale: Il teschio lavato e avvolto nel panno (Popular piety in the Canale Valley: The skull that is washed and wrapped in cloth) is re-writed and updated version of Slovenian monograph Ljudska religioznost v Kanalski dolini: O umiti in v prt zaviti lobanji (2014). The book illustrates the festive year of Slovenes in the Canale Valley from the perspective of current ritualistic practices (still in use today). The identifying elements of the Slovenian linguistic community are recognizable in the implementation of various (popular) religious practices by the local population. The author presents the rituals (with selected prayer formulas), described as an integral part of their life by Slovenian-speaking informants - all of whom are indigenous, native people of the Canale Valley - that was described, from the point of view of experts in the fields (e.g. Kuret 1989) as typical of the Slovenian community in general.
    Description: Monografija prinaša pregled ljudskega obredja prebivalstva Kanalske doline, ki ga avtorica prepoznava kot pomemben identifikacijski element tamkajšnje slovenske jezikovne skupnosti. Posebna pozornost je namenjena še v začetku 21. stoletja živemu obrednemu »umivanju in zavijanju lobanje zadnjega pokopanega pokojnika«, o katerega razširjenosti med Slovenci so v preteklosti pisali že E. Gasparini (1952), M. Matičetov (1955) in H. Maister (1975), zapisi o prisotnosti tovrstnega obrednega umivanja v Srbiji in Makedoniji (E. Schneeweis 1935) pa namigujejo na morebitno vezanost obredja na širši južnoslovanski prostor. Gre za dopolnjeno različico slovenske monografije iz leta 2014.

    Description: Ormož ranks among the most important archaeological sites in Slovenia. The fortified settlement from the Late Bronze and Early Iron Age extended over the area where the town stands today. It developed on a high-lying terrace on the left bank of the river Drava, which forms a broad bend right at the foothills. This site was intentionally selected, since towards the river it was protected by a steep slope, and to the east and west by relatively deep natural dykes. In the present monograph a survey is given of the results of the excavations which were carried out in Ormož during the period from 1974 to 1981.
    Description: Ormož sodi med najpomembnejša arheološka najdišča v Sloveniji. Utrjeno naselje iz pozne bronaste in starejše železne dobe se je raztezalo na območju, kjer stoji danes mesto. Zraslo je na visoki terasi na levem bregu Drave, ki dela prav pod njegovim vznožjem širok zavoj. Prostor je bil premišljeno izbran, saj ga je proti reki varovala strma ježa, na vzhodu in zahodu pa razmeroma globoka naravna jarka. V pričujoči monografiji so predstavljeni rezultati izkopavanj, ki so v Ormožu potekala med letoma 1974 in 1981: fortifikacijski sistemi, predvsem mogočen okop, ki je na severni strani varoval naselje ter objekti v notranjosti (ognjišča, kurišča, vodnjake in shrambne jame, okoli katerih se je v prazgodovini odvijalo življenje).

    Description: The results of the international collaboration of the three institutions from Austria, Italy and Slovenia (Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt, Università degli studi di Udine and Znanstvenoraziskovalni center SAZU, Inštitut za arheologijo of Ljubljana) are being published in the Studia Alpium et Adriae series.New discoveries and the re-examination of old ones is offering new insights into the Roman army and the historical questions related to its presence and activity in the regions of the northern Adriatic and the eastern Alps. The first volume of Studia Alpium et Adriae contains the contributions of twenty-one authors from four countries (Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Austria) who present the results of their work conducted in recent years within different research groups and projects.

    Description: A detailed stratigraphy of Jurassic and Cretaceous deep-water sediments in the Julian Alps is presented. The study areas are located at Mt. Mangart, in the Triglav Lakes Valley and in the broader surroundings of Bovec. The successions are paleogeographically attributed to the Bovec Basin and the Julian High, and correlated with similar successions elsewhere in the Southern Alps. The sedimentary evolution is reconstructed and discussed in relation to synsedimentary tectonics, eustatic sea-level fluctuations and global paleoceanographic changes. The monograph is a fundamental publication for stratigraphy and sedimentology of Jurassic and Cretaceous deposits in the Julian Alps.

    Description: The baseline survey on multilingual and transdisciplinary urban arts education is the result of the first part of the UrbArt project, which supports low-skilled adults in marginalized communities with urban arts activities and educational approaches. The aim of the baseline survey was to identify national and transnational needs and challenges related to marginalization in culture and education, as well as performance indicators for urban arts education, taking into account the concepts of transdisciplinarity and multilingualism. Five partner countries from Austria, Iceland, Portugal, Slovenia and the United Kingdom participated in the study. The survey involved people working as education providers or arts workshops in the areas covered by the project and asked them to share their experiences, describe their needs and challenges, and identify problems they face in their work with deprivileged or marginalized people or communities. Questionnaires, interviews and focus groups based on the same starting points formed the methodological basis. The publication presents the processes and outcomes of the work, concludes with key findings at European level and makes recommendations for the potential of social access and empowerment of deprivileged and marginalized adult individuals and communities through urban arts education.
    Description: Izhodiščna raziskava o večjezičnem in transdisciplinarnem izobraževanju urbane umetnosti je rezultat prvega dela projekta UrbArt s katerim podpiramo nizkokvalificirane odrasle v marginaliziranih skupnostih z dejavnostmi in koncepti izobraževanja v okvirih urbane umetnosti. Namen izhodiščne raziskave je bil opredeliti nacionalne in nadnacionalne potrebe in izzive, povezane z marginalizacijo na področju kulture in izobraževanja, ter kazalnike uspešnosti, povezane z urbano umetnostno vzgojo, ob upoštevanju konceptov transdisciplinarnosti in večjezičnosti. V raziskavi je sodelovalo pet partnerskih držav iz Avstrije, Islandije, Portugalske, Slovenije in Velike Britanije. V raziskavo smo vključili ljudi, ki delajo kot ponudniki izobraževanj ali umetniških delavnic na področjih, ki jih obravnava projekt, in jih pozvali, da delijo svoje izkušnje, opišejo svoje potrebe in izzive ter opredelijo težave, s katerimi se srečujejo pri svojem delu z depriviligiranimi ali marginaliziranimi posamezniki oziroma skupnostmi. Metodološka osnova so bili vprašalniki, intervjuji in fokusne skupine, ki so temeljili na enakih izhodiščih. Publikacija ('Izhodiščna raziskava o večjezičnem in transdisciplinarnem izobraževanju urbane umetnosti') predstavlja procese in rezultate dela, v zaključku povzame ključne ugotovitve na evropski ravni ter vključuje priporočila za potenciale socialnega dostopa in krepitev vloge depriviligiranih in marginaliziranih odraslih posameznikov in skupnosti s pomočjo izobraževanja urbane umetnosti.

    Description: The following results from excavations carried out in 1987 at Sermin near Koper are presented in the monograph: the extent of the settlement, the stratigraphy, the remains of Bronze Age houses and Roman levelling of the ground. Metal, glass and bone material finds, as well as Prehistoric and Roman pottery, are analyzed in detail. It was determined that settlement was of long duration, probably continuous from the Middle Neolithic to the middle of the 1st century AD. Due tot ehir abundance, material finds dating to the Middle and Late Bronze Ages as well as the Early Roman period are more striking. The settlement at Sermin was constantly situated in the middle of trade and cultural currents between Italy, the Balkans and the Mediterranean region. The material finds are also an indication of the significance of the settlement during the period of the earliest Romanization. Attesting the plentiful production of wine and amphorae along the Adriatic coast of Italy already from the middle of the 2nd centruy BC, the archaeological chapters are complemented by chemical and mineralogical research on the ceramics of the amphorae. The paleo-vegetational conditions in the coastal region of Koper are presented at the end. The development of settlement in the region of northwestern Istria from Prehistoric times to the Early Middle Ages is described in the supplement.
    Description: V knjigi so predstavljeni rezultati sondiranj v Serminu pri Kopru iz leta 1987: obseg poselitve najdišča, stratigrafija, ostanki bronastodobne hiše in rimskodobno izravnalno nasutje. Podrobno so analizirani kovinski, stekleni in koščeni predmeti ter prazgodovinska in rimska keramika. Ugotovljena je bila dolgotrajna, verjetno kontinuirana poseljenost od srednjega neolitika do sredine 1. stoletja po Kr. Po večjih količinah gradiva izstopajo srednja in pozna bronasta ter zgodnja rimska doba. Naselje v Serminu je bilo ves čas vpeto v trgovske in kulturne tokove med Italijo, Balkanom in sredozemskim prostorom. Gradivo kaže tudi na izjemen pomen naselbine v obdobju najzgodnejše romanizacije. Arheološka poglavja dopolnjujejo kemične in mineraloške raziskave keramike amfor, ki dokazujejo močno proizvodnjo vina in amfor na italijanski obali Jadranskega morja že sredi 2. stoletja pr. Kr. Na koncu so predstavljene paleovegetacijske razmere v Koprskem primorju. V dodatku je še orisan razvoj poselitve na ozemlju severozahodne Istre od prazgodovine do zgodnjega srednjega veka.

    Description: Publishing medieval charters for Slovenian history is a long-term effort. The first four volumes were still published in the days of the pioneer of the project, Franc Kos (in the period 1902–1915), with the fifth book, published by his son Milko Kos, following somewhat later on. It was only in 2002 that France Baraga published, on the basis of the collected materials, the Central Catalogue of Medieval Charters of Dr. Božo Otorepec from the Milko Kos Historical Institute of ZRC SAZU, the sixth volume of medieval charters encompassing a relatively short period of ten years, 1246–1255. The volume appeared without an index of names, the publication of which has been postponed until today.This book therefore contains an accurate explanatory index of personal and place names, thus completing Baraga’s edition of 295 medieval charters.The book comes with a CD Gradivo za slovensko zgodovino v srednjem veku. 6/1 – Listine 1246–1255. 6/2 – Imensko kazalo [Materials for Slovenian Medieval History. 6/1 – Charters 1246 – 1255. 6/2 – Index of names] and both books in pdf-format.
    Description: Izdajanje srednjeveških listin za slovensko zgodovino je delo, ki nastaja na zelo dolg rok. Prve štiri knjige so bile izdane še za življenja začetnika projekta Franca Kosa (v obdobju 1902–1915), peta knjiga, ki jo je izdal njegov sin Milko Kos, pa je že nekoliko bolj oddaljena (1928). Šele leta 2002 je France Baraga na podlagi zbranega gradiva, Centralnega kataloga srednjeveških listin dr. Boža Otorepca z Zgodovinskega inštituta Milka Kosa ZRC SAZU, objavil šesti zvezek srednjeveških listin, ki zajema relativno kratko desetletno obdobje 1246–1255. Zvezek je izšel brez imenskega kazala, katerega izid se je zavlekel do sedaj.

    Description: This toolkit has been developed during the implementation of Urban Green Belts (UGB) project (Interreg, Central Europe) which main objective was to improve planning, management and decision-making capacities of the public sector related to urban green spaces, thus creating integrated sustainable UGS planning and management systems. Special attention was given to functional urban areas (FUA), a functional economic unit characterised by densely inhabited “urban cores” and “hinterlands” whose labour market is highly integrated with the cores. Following a comparative situation analysis, the partners jointly designed innovative methods and tools to facilitate sustainable UGS management. Presented toolkit has been primarily developed as a Model for a Community Involvement. The presented methods and tools for community building were tested in three pilot studies conducted in Maribor (Slovenia), Krakow (Poland), and Budapest (Hungary).
    Description: Priročnik je bil izdelan med izvajanjem projekta Urbane zelene površine (UGB) v okviru programa Interreg, Srednja Evropa, katerega glavni cilj je bil izboljšati zmogljivosti javnega sektorja na področju načrtovanja, upravljanja in odločanja, povezanega z urbanimi zelenimi površinami (UZP), ter na ta način ustvariti celostne trajnostne sisteme za načrtovanje in upravljanje UZP. Posebna pozornost je bila namenjena funkcionalnim urbanim območjem (FUO), funkcionalnim ekonomskim enotam, za katere so značilna gosto poseljena »urbana jedra« in »zaledja«, v katerih je trg dela močno povezan z jedri. Na podlagi primerjalne analize stanja so projektni partnerji skupaj zasnovali inovativne metode in orodja za spodbujanje trajnostnega upravljanja UZP. Predstavljeni priročnik je bil razvit predvsem kot model za vključevanje skupnosti. Predstavljene metode in orodja za izgradnjo skupnosti so bile preizkušene znotraj treh pilotnih območji, opravljenih v Mariboru (Slovenija), Krakovu (Poljska) in Budimpešti (Madžarska).

    Description: The Ljubljanica River with its tributaries has witnessed no less than a quarter of a century of organised underwater research. The latter has shown that the archaeological complex there unquestionably ranks among the most interesting ones in Slovenia with the finds from the beds and banks of the waterways speaking of nearby settlements, cemeteries, forts, control points or places of cult.These, together with various types of river vessels and other traces of water exploitation, improve in many ways the knowledge of the phenomenon that is the Ljubljansko barje as a cultural landscape as well as its specific dynamics closely related to the natural changes in the environment from the early periods of the prehistory onwards.
    Description: Organizirane podvodne raziskave barjanskega dela reke Ljubljanice s pritoki so pokazale, da gre za nesporno enega najzanimivejših arheoloških kompleksov pri nas. Najdbe iz rečnih strug in bregov pričajo o bližnjih naselbinah, grobiščih, utrdbah, nadzornih točkah ali kultnih mestih ter skupaj s plovili in drugimi sledovi izrabe vodnega prostora dopolnjujejo poznavanje fenomena Ljubljanskega barja kot kulturne krajine in njegove dinamike, ki se je od starejših obdobij prazgodovine naprej tesno prepletala z naravnimi spremembami okolja.

    Description: Razprava je nastala v okviru mednarodnega projekta »Zamolčani holokavst: spomin na deportacijo prekmurskih Judov« ter je izčrpen prikaz ene najbolj groznih in žalostnih epizod sodobne svetovne in slovenske zgodovine. Besedilo je razdeljeno na dva dela, in sicer opis priprav in izvedbo »največjega organiziranega zločina v zgodovini civilizacije« ter predstavitev prizorišč tega zločina na slovenskih tleh. V prvem delu avtor osvetli okoliščine, zaradi katerih je do holokavsta in genocida nad slovanskimi narodi sploh prišlo oziroma zakaj in kako sta iz obrobnih ekstremističnih fašističnih in nacističnih idej vzniknila kar dva totalitarna imperija in kako sta človeštvo pripeljala do največje katastrofe v zgodovini. V drugem delu je podrobno predstavljeno dogajanje na slovenskih tleh, s poudarkom na Prekmurju, kjer so do leta 1944 delovale tri dobro organizirane in za pokrajino izjemno pomembne judovske skupnosti. Abstraktna in težko predstavljiva tragičnost druge svetovne vojne je tako predstavljena skozi konkretne usode pregnanih in skozi zgodbe o tistih, ki se niso nikoli vrnili.

    Description: Most na Soči is an archaeological site of key importance in the Posočje region and also one that witnessed most extensive investigations. Remains of its rich distant past have been coming to light over the last century and a half, either as chance finds or through archaeological excavations of the settlement from the Bronze, Iron and Roman Ages, as well as the associated cemeteries.This book presents the recent investigations on the left bank of the Idrijca, where a vast Iron Age cemetery has been known since the end of the 19th century. At its northern edge, a total of 88 graves were excavated by the Tolminski muzej in 2000–2016, when three locations were investigated: Pucarjev rob, Repelc and Lipičarjev vrt. Most of the graves date to the Iron Age, a dozen to the Roman period and one to the Early Middle Ages. In their immediate vicinity, a contemporary cremation pit and a stone drywall were discovered, under the graves also habitation remains from the Late Bronze Age.

    Description: In the collected papers the results of the research on hilltop settlement Spaha above Brezovica pri Predgradu are introduced. The site was excavated by Greta Hirschbäck-Merhar during the years 1979 and 1984. Spaha was settled in the period of Sava group, Lasinja culture, horizon of pottery with furrowed incisions, and probably also in the period of Urnfield culture. In the 16th century on the top of Spaha a watchtower was erected, from which the local community was being informed about the arrivals of plundering hordes of Turks. The reasons for the settling the top of the hill are searched in the appearance of first copper ore prospectors in this part of Europe and in the vicinity of deposits of raw material used for querns which were most probably used by agriculture communities of nearby Bela krajina. In the monograph are presented the relative and absolute chronologies of the Neolithic and earlier Eneolithic period of continental Slovenia.

    Description: To stand up against Nazi ideas of biologized “ethnicity” and antisemitism required a heroic disposition in individuals who did not allow themselves to have their basic humanity destroyed by such ideologies, even as the latter were backed by formidable political and religious power and sweepingly popular beliefs. The men and women presented in the first part of the book have already been recognised as Righteous Among Nations for their brave humanitarian acts during WWII, a title bestowed by the Yad Vashem World Center for Holocaust Research, Education, Documentation and Commemoration. Part Two brings the stories about people who were also saving Jews that were not recognised as Righteous yet, but some among them are candidates.
    Description: Upreti se ideologijam biologizirane »etničnosti« in antisemitizma je bilo v času nacizma še posebej junaško dejanje. Nagovorilo je ljudi, ki jim tovrstne ideologije, zavarovane s politično in religiozno avtoriteto in populističnimi prepričanji, niso mogle ubiti temeljnega humanizma. Ljudje, ženske in moški, ki jih predstavlja prvi del knjige, so bili za svoja pogumna in humana dejanja med drugo svetovno vojno že razpoznani kot pravične in pravični med narodi, kar je častni naslov in priznanje, ki ga podeljuje Jad Vašem, Svetovni center za raziskovanje, poučevanje, dokumentiranje in komemoriranje holokavsta v Jeruzalemu v Izraelu. Drugi del knjige prinaša zgodbe o ljudeh, ki so prav tako reševali preganjane Jude, ki pa naslova pravičnih še nimajo, a so nekateri že kandidatke in kandidati zanj.

    Description: The second book in the new collection Karstology in Development Challenges in the Karst brings together the findings obtained in planning and construction of motorways in the Karst. More than 350 new caves were opened up in the final wave of construction. This was followed by studies on arranging karstic features for tourism and their management. We also selected studies on karstic ecology, in which we made use of biological and microbiological research. At the end there is a summary of everything we need to take into account in planning different encroachments in karstic areas.
    Description: V drugi knjigi serije Krasoslovje v razvojnih izzivih na krasu so zbrani izsledki, pridobljeni pri načrtovanju in gradnji avtocest na krasu. Več kot 350 novih jam se je odprlo v zadnjem valu gradnje. Sledijo študije o urejanju kraških pojavov za turizem in njihovem upravljanju. Izbrali smo tudi študije o kraški ekologiji, pri katerih smo si pomagali z biološkimi in mikrobiološkimi raziskavami. Na koncu pa je povzetek vsega, kar moramo upoštevati pri načrtovanju različnih posegov na krasu.

    Description: Podnebje in turizem sta običajno tesno povezana. Smučanje brez snega in nizkih temperatur ni možno, če omenimo samo najbolj neposredno povezavo. Zaradi tega je bilo v zadnjih letih opravljenih veliko raziskav o vplivu podnebnih sprememb na turizem v gorskih območjih. In o tem govori knjiga ClimAlpTour. Podnebne spremembe in njihov vpliv na turizem v Alpah, ki je nastala v projektu z istim imenom iz programa Evropskega teritorialnega sodelovanja, Alpski prostor, ter izšla v slovenskem, angleškem, italijanskem, nemškem in francoskem jeziku. Ponuja širok spekter vsebin: od pričakovanih učinkov dvigovanja temperature na turizem, vpliva teh sprememb na razvoj Alp do rešitev oziroma prilagoditvenih strategij. Glavnina knjige obravnava konkretna območja oziroma turistična središča (v celoti 22, slovenski sta dve: Zgornje Posočje in Kranjska Gora) tako s prevladujočim zimskim kot tudi poletnim in celoletnim turizmom: njihove temeljne značilnosti, izzive in priložnosti ter prilagoditvene strategije. Knjiga se sklene s priporočili in smernicami za turistično industrijo in nosilci odločitev.

    Description: The book contains 23 articles from various disciplines, reflecting Ložar’s intellectual work in Slovenia and in emigration. Rajko Ložar – an ethnologist, archeologist, art historian, literary, art, and music critic, museum worker, and publicist – was engaged in scholarly and professional work in Slovenia until the end of the Second World War. He lived and worked in Austrian Carinthia until the end of 1951 as a professor, collector, and researcher of ethnographic material, and then emigrated to the United States, where he was the director of the City Museum of Manitowoc, WI from 1956 until his retirement in 1969. His death there in 1985 marked the end of a variegated life and career.The articles join together the observations of scholars that have addressed Ložar and his work or were his successors, as well as those that knew him personally. Indirectly, through Ložar’s work, the articles discuss the history of the disciplines that he was connected with, and at the same time serve as narratives about the broader historical, social, and intellectual pulse of the time he worked in. The publication includes a bibliography of Ložar’s collected published and unpublished works.
    Description: V knjigi so zbrane razprave, ki z večdisciplinarne perspektive govorijo o intelektualnem delovanju Rajka Ložarja v Sloveniji in izseljenstvu. Kot etnolog, arheolog, umetnostni zgodovinar, literarni, likovni in glasbeni kritik, muzejski delavec in publicist je bil v Sloveniji znanstveno in strokovno aktiven do konca druge svetovne vojne. Na avstrijskem Koroškem je deloval kot profesor, zbiralec in raziskovalec do konca leta 1951, ko se je izselil v ZDA, kjer je bil od 1956 do upokojitve 1969 ravnatelj mestnega muzeja v Manitowocu. Tam je leta 1985 sklenil svojo zapleteno življenjsko in strokovno pot.

    Description: The book Medieval Archaeology of Bled Island is presenting the results of a state-of-the-art archaeological analysis of data from archaeological excavations of the 1962 and 1964.
    Description: Pričujoča knjiga je nastala z namenom, da odgovori na vprašanje: ali je v arheoloških virih izpričano predkrščansko svetišče na Blejskem otoku? Blejski otok je imel poseben pomen za vsako lokalno skupnost, ki je kadarkoli živela ob Blejskem jezeru. Pisanje J. V. Valvasorja in A. T. Linharta je sloves otoka poneslo širše, dokončno pa ga je usidral v kulturno zavest Slovencev France Prešeren, ki je na otok v pesmi Krst pri Savici postavil Živin hram. Arheologija, kot vsaka znanost, zahteva kompleksen pristop. V knjigi je predstavljena arheološka analiza dokumentacije izkopavanj, ki so bila na Blejskem otoku med letoma 1962 in 1965. Takrat je pod vodstvom Vinka Šribarja ekipa Narodnega muzeja Slovenije raziskali grobišče in ostanke cerkvenih zidov iz srednjega veka. Najdišče je eno od številnih v blejski mikro-regiji, a je kot kraj – otok na jezeru – posebnost med najdišči v Sloveniji.
