    Description: Technology enhanced learning concept, curriculum characteristics and processes are revealed and described in the monograph from philosophical, methodological, and empirical point of view and in the context of international experience. Integration of technology enhanced learning in an organization is based on the conception that information communication technologies should be in harmony with learning and teaching process to enhance these processes. Research implemented in three types of organizations – education, business and community – is presented in the book. Research results are focused on the strengths, limitations, learning and teaching needs in organizations, as well as input of staff of these organizations towards successful integration of technology enhanced learning. Virtual learning environment preferences, the need for technology enhanced learning perceived by the staff and the use and benefit of integration process for individuals and for the organization are discussed.

    Description: The monograph: 1) provides a brief overview of intonation research, articulatory and acoustic correlates of intonation, and preliminary insights into the possible prosodic hierarchy of the Lithuanian language; 2) analyses the acoustic properties of the phrase centre, which refers to the word in narrow focus or the one receiving phrasal stress; 3) delves into the acoustic and psychoacoustic characteristics of phrase junctions and edges, as well as the regularities of their perception; 4) examines the peculiarities of intonation marking for specific needs as well as for regular written text and provides recommendations; 5) analyses the relationship between intonation and punctuation in written language.

    Description: Monografijoje nagrinėjama ikimokyklinio amžiaus kultūrinė vaiko raida ir siekiama aptarti vaiko menamo žaidimo ir savireguliacijos bendro žaidimo metu sąsajas. Teoriniu lygmeniu analizuojami svarbiausi kultūrinės-istorinės psichologijos pagrindu plėtojamos žaidimo teorijos aspektai ir suformuluojami pagrindiniai savireguliacijos formavimosi žaidybinėje veikloje principai. Praktiniu lygmeniu pateikiama tyrėjų sukurta naratyvinio žaidimo programa ir jos pagrindu atliktų intervencijų rezultatai. Tyrimo rezultatai leidžia teigti, kad išvystytas ir kokybiškai aukšto lygmens žaidimas sudaro prielaidas savireguliacijos vystymuisi. The idea to write this book primarily came from our intention to share what we have discovered about one of the greatest childhood miracles – play. For a number of years we have explored this phenomenon, yet its profound and extraordinary nature still continues to surprise us. Promotes development and, at the same time, is the greatest achievement of the child. Keeping this in mind, we designed our monograph for a few purposes. First, we wanted to present the results of the three-year project “Development of Self-Regulation in Play” attained in play research laboratory of the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. Second, we sought for the first time to discuss in Lithuanian language the theory of play based on cultural – historical psychology. Our objective was to formulate and present the key principles of the development of self-regulation through play activities. Finally, we aimed to describe the steps of practical use of joint (adult-child) play activities that help a child to develop a self-regulatory behavior during play.

    Description: The Lithuanian syllable has not been studied comprehensively. More attention has been paid to the analysis of structural patterns of phonological syllables. The aim of this study is to identify and describe the characteristics of the syllable of Standard Lithuanian, to establish its structure, and syllabification regularities. The syllable is described based on constituents’ hierarchy, syllable weight, phonemic structure, sonority, and optimality theory.

    Description: Monografijoje aprašomo tyrimo tikslas – nustatyti ir aprašyti bendrinės lietuvių kalbos skiemens ypatybes, jo struktūros dėsningumus ir skiemenavimą. Tiriamąją medžiagą sudaro daugiau nei 311 tūkst. skiemenų (109 tūkst. žodžių). Lietuvių kalbos skiemuo nagrinėjamas ir aprašomas remiantis įvairiomis teorinėmis prieigomis: dėmenų teorijos požiūriu, skiemens svorio ir skiemenų foneminės struktūros (struktūrinių ir distribucinių modelių) nustatymo principais. Remiantis garsų sonoringumo ir optimalumo teorijomis bandoma rasti skiemenų ribas ir išsiaiškinti kalbos vartotojų skiemenavimo polinkius.
