Abstract

Species included in clathrasils have been analyzed by quantitative IR spectroscopy. In the case of dodecasil 3C, with benzene or piperidine as guest molecules, results showed that only one out of 16 or 8 suitable cavities in the clathrasil structure is occupied. This means that a very low quantity of template molecules is sufficient for the crystal growth.
