Zusammenfassung
Bei dem im Juni 2011 veröffentlichten Wissenschaftsatlas der Universität Heidelberg handelt es sich um ein Werk, welches sich die Universität zu ihrem 625-jährigen Jubiläum selbst geschenkt hat. Damit kann man den Atlas auch als neuartige, experimentelle Form einer Festschrift bezeichnen. Erarbeitet wurde der Atlas in enger Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Geographischen Institut der Universität Heidelberg und dem Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde in Leipzig. Der Beitrag wirft Fragen der Räumlichkeit von wissenschaftlicher Praxis und deren kartographischer Repräsentation auf und berichtet über die kartographische Vorgehensweise.
Abstract
The Wissenschaftatlas of Heidelberg University was published in June 2011. The university gave itself the atlas as a present for its 625th anniversary. Thus one can describe the atlas as a new, experimental form of a Festschrift. The atlas was compiled in close collaboration between the Institute of Geography of Heidelberg University and the Leibniz-Institute for Regional Geography in Leipzig. The contribution raises questions about the spatiality of scientific praxis and its cartographic representation and reports on the cartographic approach.
